This was an easy transaction. I bought a full kitchen on Trade Me in Tauranga. I contacted Domestic Movers and paid my deposit. With no fuss, they picked it up and delivered the kitchen to us in Hawera on the same day. It was heavy stone and moved it with no fuss. Thank you for this guys

I hired them for an interstate move. They arrived at the quoted time and packed, wrapped, unpacked, and unwrapped without any issue. Booking them was very easy, and the price was very fair. I loved how everything went. Can't recommend moving with them enough!

We had a terrible experience!! We moved cross country and paid for our belong to be packed. When they had packed most of the stuff, they told us it would be twice the original amount (we were originally told it would be $3700 and it ended up being $6650!). Of course at this point, there wasn’t much option except to pay the rest since we had already paid a deposit.

They lost a bed frame and several boxes. They broke a mirror and a tore a painting. The number that was given to file a claim was out of service. We called the general number several times to explain the issues and they repeatedly told us someone would call us back, which never happened.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I wish we had done a pod or something else. This was a terrible way to move!

We hired this company to move my mother, a 60 year old woman who lived alone, for her move from NJ to TN.

Upon pick-up of the items, the movers intimidated my mother into paying an additional $600 in cash and a personal check made out to an individual after loading her belongings, including all of our family heirlooms, on a truck. While she understood that she was being scammed out of this money, she was afraid to challenge this man as she lived there alone. The driver insisted on cash and a personal check written out to him instead of the company for this undocumented payment after he already loaded her belongings into his truck.

I called the company to complain about this scam and they told me there was nothing they could do. The company later then called me to accuse my mother of bribing the driver which is a disgusting accusation. My mother who was scammed out of a large amount of money by their employee had not bribed anyone. The company has recordings of this phone conversation and I urge them to listen to this disgusting accusation.

Stay away from this company at all costs. No experience has made me lose as much faith in humanity as this one. The incident has been reported to all relevant agencies.

The mover showed up with two friends to help, who were not movers. They showed up 5-6 hours late without any communication. They did not have tools. Did not properly wrap all items and wrapped some items in some weird plastic wrap. When the movers showed up they demanded that the costs would be over double after the truck was loaded. Everything that was moved was on the invoice with Domestic and was accounted for. They also were trying to get the money in full (cash/post office order) at that time of loading, which I did not pay. They left the place a mess. It was an absolute horrible experience!

Domestic would not tell us what additional items we had moved that nearly doubled our moving costs and we were forced to pay the additional money to get our things back. We tried for 7 weeks to get a solid delivery date. Just like with the pick-up, we were lied to and told they would be coming on X day and they never showed. The company would not answer the phone on the days we were told they would be here.

Finally, we got our things delivered and EVERY piece of wooden furniture is damaged. All furniture is less than 2 years old and has serious damage that cannot be hidden or fixed. Thousands of dollars worth of damage as the items are high quality furniture.

We did not have the movers bring the items into the house because when the movers came to load our things, they made such a mess of the place that I did not want to deal with that in my home. We will take on the added expense of hiring someone local to help us.

The only saving grace from this whole experience was the driver/movers from Green Van Lines on the delivery-side were different people who were nice and respectful of our things.

All in all it was a terrible experience that could have been avoided by good communication, fair pricing practices, and movers who are trained properly to move items and care for them.

Run away. I signed a contract for pickup either 25th or 26th of July. My closing date on my old home was July 27th. By the 24th and having gotten no call to confirm pickup I contacted the sales agent. He said he’d get right back to me. After that he stopped taking calls, or responding to texts and emails. On the 26th Anthony hdd we guy in charge of this shady place calls and says no one is coming. The earliest they can get there is the 28th. That’s after my closing. I got hit with a almost $700.00 in costs for missing the closing. Anthony then blamed the company that picked us up. This was the first time I learned Domestic wasn’t even a moving company. I contacted that company and they provided documentation that they were never asked to pick us up until that Monday the 26th. When I finally got Anthony back on the phone after a week of no return calls he said he never heard of the salesman who sold me the move. He must be another contractor. He claimed my contract was for the 28th. That’s total BS and. I’ve got the contract to prove it. Then he claimed that since they eventually did get us picked up that changed the contract and means I accepted thdd Ed change. Again legally total BS. I had no option.but to wait until the 28th. It’s not like I could call a mover on the 26th and asked to be picked up in 30 minutes. It’s not Uber. Now I’m left to file suit and a complaint with the State Attorney.

Total scam, they are not a registered moving company. Look them up, and don't use this company. They have complaints for holding people's belongings hostage. I was told I had full coverage insurance, when I wanted to file a claim no one took my calls.

DMC is a broker, nothing more. Drivers & Dispatchers are all subcontracted, lower quality and dishonest. DMC's sister company is "Selective Van Lines" and together they form a terrible moving company combination - extremely difficult to get a hold of once they have your goods, lie about delivery dates, hold your stuff hostage, and do not delivery your entire load (yes, they kept some of it). Do your homework and check their DOT status on fmcsa.dot.gov and keep digging -wish we did. Biggest mistake of our lives.

I must say I am extremely satisfied with their service. they were punctual and worked really hard. they showed great skills while moving my piano it was heavy and large in size but these guys moved it without any issues.

The crew was very responsive and answered all of the questions i had. They took proper care of the items and delivered them just as they were before they pick them up. But my furniture got scratched while set it up to my new place.

We also just missed peak season rates that would have had us paying about 50% more. We knew our things would have been treated appropriately which was evident by the way they handled them self.

Good experience but the delivery of my belongings was late then the recorded time.

My move was handled by Domestic moving company, the crew members was not properly able to manage how to move my stuff one of my table got scratches on it while moving otherwise the quote they give me was in my budget.

I hired Domestic movers to relocate our furniture. The salesman we spoke with was very helpful and informative. We placed a deposit on our move to reserve our preferred pickup days. They asked for our requirements from the move and they did everything with keeping all that in mind.

They were professional, courteous and helpful on the phone and were not pushy. They took great care of our items, wrapping them with plastic wraps and blankets. They worked diligently that they ended up skipping their lunch just to get things moved on time. They were the real example of professionalism.

We moved on short notice and our needs for tight scheduling were met in a polite and professional manner by everyone from the owners through the front staff to the finance department and all of the people we encountered. The quotes were accurate and the information I was given was realistic.

My move was over 900 miles and I was nervous about finding the right movers. The movers did everything we agreed upon. No hidden costs, no delays, no poor excuses. All of my belongings arrived as scheduled, intact. I could not have been more pleased! From speaking to the representative to the movers... everything was perfect.

Domestic movers did a superb job moving our heavy furniture, including a large dressing table and a bunch of other stuff. They were fast, professional and put everything exactly where it was supposed to go. Best of all, they did it all without the slightest scratch to anything. Considering the difficult move, I almost wonder they had Superman hidden under their shirts.

Everyone I've dealt with at Domestic moving company has been helpful and professional. We moved out of a 5th floor walk up and they did such a fantastic job. The four gentlemen who came to pick up my possessions for storage were efficient, polite, and careful.
