I recently participated in a mediation process with Disputes Mediation. While I appreciate the team’s efforts, I felt the approach did not fully consider my perspective as a father, leaving me with the impression that my concerns were not given equal weight. Additionally, the frequent calls and emails created a sense of pressure, which detracted from the collaborative nature of the process. It sometimes felt as though the priority was financial rather than achieving a fair and balanced resolution.

I believe there is an opportunity for the organisation to make its process more balanced and inclusive for all parties involved. In particular, embracing principles of neurodiversity—such as recognising different communication styles, processing speeds, and ways of expressing concerns could help ensure that every participant feels understood and respected throughout the process.

This would not only improve the experience for clients but also strengthen trust in the organisation’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity.

Very unprofessional. Very judgmental, uninterested, only in taking your money. Constantly chasing replies, I would not recommend this company in the slightest.

I would have been more than happy to discuss the review since I am financially out of pocket. I am not upset because of the outcome of the mediation - quite honestly, I knew it was futile. However, the falsehoods you have shared here in relation to communication are outrageous. You made errors in the booking not me - and even the other party shared her frustrations on that. I have it in writing too from your representatives! At the very least compensation should have been offered for such an appalling service and the distress caused. (End of update)

I have recently used the service and I am appalled. I have paid over £800 for two sessions and a certificate. Not only does it cost a fortune, my session was cancelled twice, despite me confirming my attendance. No consideration for the time wasted, nor the impact on the two parties involved in an already challenging situation. Thus, creating even more tension. The communication is shocking - how ironic! Do not use this service.

My experience with Disputes Medication was extremely excellent 10/10

My ex was the one who started this process. I felt scared and anxious because he was always better educated than me and made me believe that the system wasn't designed for people like me. When I received my first email from Rosie, I was cautious and defensive. I didn't know much about mediation, and with my dyslexia, the emails seemed overwhelming. Rosie's sweet and calm demeanor helped reduce my anxiety. Meeting with the mediator, Andrew, was the next challenge. I expected him to be harsh and cutthroat, but he was unbiased and non-judgmental, which was a pleasant surprise. Andrew took the time to explain his role and what to expect, easing my anxiety. Dealing with a sneaky ex who could attack at any moment kept me on edge. The first mediation meeting with the mediator and my ex was an experience worth a whole new chapter. Andrew's professionalism and intelligence shone through as he caught the contradictions in my ex's claims. This organisation truly helped me understand the situation and their vigilance made it difficult for anyone to manipulate them.

Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Katy tried to find a solution as quick as possible and the cost is lower compared to going through solicitors. I would recommend Mediation Matters Midlands to people looking for help relating to family law.

At first I wasn’t keen on the idea, but the experience was quite nerve racking at times but the mediator is there to keep both parties on the subject and we come to an agreement after 2 joint sessions. If both parties interests are the same it’s a pretty good way to get things settled and it’s cheaper than solicitors! I’d definitely recommend this service but you have to go into it with an open mind. Will update with the outcome of our agreement
