Auto-ship date is relative
Know that if you have “auto-ship” it doesn’t actually ship on that date; no will be 3-5 business days for them to email the order to Hills(the fulfillment phase), then ship time of 3-5 business day. But they will charge your credit card on the auto-ship date.
Coventrus Customer Service
The Coventrus customer service was very helpful with an autoship issue.
Poor Service and Poor Customer Support
Covetrus sent an autoship order with no advance notice. I tried to cancel the order. Their published customer service phone number would not accept calls. Their chatbot is not authorized to cancel orders. I finally reached someone there who said I need to mail the order back on my own dime for a refund.

Unauthorized charge to my card
I had canceled autoship orders with Goodfriends weeks ago due to very bad alergic skin issues that worsened after eating new perscription food.. The autoship was set to ship on February 9. Covetrus charged my credit card $148 on January 18 without ever sending an email or the product they charged me for. I called and spoke to Gabriella who said they would give a one time refund but they never did. I called Goodfriends who said they had n control over the shipment and to contact Covetrus. My credit card company told me this needed to be treated as a fraudulent charge and had to cancel my card.
Revision on 1/22/2026.
After the negative review Covetrus refunded the amount of the unauthorized charge to my credit card. I am grateful at the speed with which they responded.

Covetrus overcharging pet parents
I used my vet clinics link to check pricing on a medication. Covetrus charged $1.10 per tablet, not including shipping. The local pharmacy charges $.53 per tablet.
The vet won’t use other pharmacies. I’ve read that Covetrus pays the vets a “commission aka kickback” for using their pharmacy. The cost of the prescription food I buy, Covetrus charges 131.99 (not including shipping) Two other online companies charge $102.00 including shipping. Pet parents should stay away this company and possibly re-think their choice of veterinarians.
No longer reliable and inflated prices
We have been using their service for the last year now and their prices have increased dramatically. The automatic refill is not processed prior to the actual date the item should be ready to ship, so there’s a delay in the auto shipping of the medication. They use USPS that is no longer reliable. Even when they use priority shipping that is several days. We will be looking for another pharmacy that we can rely on.

Avoid Using Covetrus for Online Pet Medicine Orders
The vet clinic that oversees the wellness of our dog is owned by NVA, National Veterinary Associates. NVA made a decision recently to use Covetrus exclusively to fulfill all online Rx requests due to alleged fax issues with all other 3rd party sources, like Chewy. Big mistake!!!! I recently ordered a 12 month supply of Interceptor Plus for my dog. Covetrus shipped this medicine by USPS ground in a poly bag, and surprise, the medicine box and some medicine inside was damaged. So, I requested a re-shipment sent in a corrugated box, like Chewy does it with zero damage issues, which Covetrus approved, and this time the order was shipped by UPS next day air, but unfortunately still shipped in a poly bag. Guess what? Same result. The box was again severely damaged!! If you want to avoid these headaches, do not order anything from Covetrus, especially medicine that comes in a box vs hard plastic bottle, like heartworm medication. You will most likely receive the order damaged. They might as well just stick a label on the medicine box and ship it out for all the protection that the poly bag provides. This outfit does not know how to package products for shipment. They should ask Chewy how to do it. I strongly recommend avoiding them. Just look at the Trust Pilot ratings of 85% 1’s and 10% 2's, 5% 5/4/3, with an average of 1.5. This is all that you need to know. Believe these ratings and avoid Covetrus like the plague!!!!

Delayed delivery
My wife and I are both retired veterinarians. We ordered a special diet for are older dog on 26 December. We received UPS notification that it would be delivered on 30 Dec, then 31 Dec, then 02 Jan and then today, 03 Jan. Still no delivery. The difficult part, it has been sitting in a warehouse 35 minutes away the entire time. We contacted Covetrus customer service to complain about delivery delays this afternoon, and even asked if they could facilitate a customer pick up. Customer service was no help. While the delays are due to UPS, it was Covetrus who selected UPS as their delivery service. Either force UPS to promptly deliver on time, select another delivery service, or get out of the mail order business.
Not convinced they’re actually reliable
These guys are not it. I ordered a (thankfully not urgent) prescription for my dog and when it finally arrived it was a completely different product—someone else’s prescription. So of course I had to take it to UPS to ship back, and contacted support to get the item I actually ordered. They said they would reship, and I wait several days with no confirmation email or tracking. Call back only to find it was never sent. The woman I talked to this time was fortunately extremely helpful and rush shipped my order, which is the only reason this gets an extra star. It makes me very nervous to order something that would actually be needed quickly for my dog’s health or comfort.
Got my money but didn't provide useable product
Filled a prescription for an insulin pen for my cat. 98$. Would be 21$ at cvs w an rx card. Then didn't include the needles so cant be used.
Will go to local Pharmacy next time.
Absolutely terrible as far as being a "pharmacy".
Two prescriptions were given for my very sick dog. The first one came 5 days later with no dosage instructions. The bottle said to take one to two a day, but for a 10 lb dog that's a big difference. I had to chase down and wait 10 hours for the vet to get back to me. THIS IS THE PHARMACIES JOB.
Second prescription, well 10 days in and I'm still waiting for it. Pharmacy is usually take 24 hours to get a drug in. Not this one. I will never buy from them again I will go to my local Osco Drug. This place absolutely stinks.
Oh yeah by the way I left this place a message about the dosage 5 days ago and I have yet to get an answer.
Also ordered Bravecto from them. NOW THOSE HAD THE PHARMACY LABEL????? REALLY something that has clear instructions on the box they put the label on, but the prescription they put nothing on the bottle?? This place is really screwed up.
Not very good at all
The positive - their customer service was good enough to free express ship some medicine when it was going to be late due to their extended delivery times. The bad - their extended delivery times and insane prices. For one medication I ordered it was literally TWICE the price of Chewy - I've been getting robbed.
Avoid this Company - THE WORST
The most rude, disrespectful, unprofessional and unhelpful customer service I have ever experienced.They clearly are trained to never resolve anything and insist the customer is wrong and rudely dismiss you.The pricing on the website is intentionally misleading, they charge unreasonable amounts for shipping, and package condition was abysmal.

The absolute worst!!
My vet FORCES me to use Covetrus by refusing to approve Chewy pharmacy orders. Recently I had to try Covetrus for my dog's meds. Their website is VERY hard to navigate and find what you are looking for. The meds I ordered (6 mos supply) were $70 more than at Chewy. And it took a whole week to get them by USPS. Since I don't pick up the mail at the clubhouse every day, they sat there for another 3 days. (Chewy delivers them the next day after they are approved, at your door!). I am irritated because I know they throw kickbacks to my vet to use them and I have no choice! They are owned by private equity giants TPG and CD&R and they are only in the business of making money - they don't care about their pet patients.

DON'T USE THIS DISHONEST UNCARING COMPANY. They will rip you off. I deleted a med my dog took once (and it didn't work for him) from their site because we will never refill that prescription and I had a new prescription for a better med that works. Then I placed an order for the new med. Everything checked out online. I get the order and they sent me the deleted med and refused to take a return (the bottle just arrived last night) and refused to issue me a credit for this med which costs 3 times as much. (Yes, they charged me the 3x price.). These people are liars at best. They take no responsibility for their errors. And their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced.

I am horrified to find out so many…
I am horrified to find out so many other people have had issues with this company and have told my vet to find another vendor because your animals health matters and this company does not care. My vet told me to order a prescription online to save money and time and now they are expecting it to take 2 weeks/ don’t waste your time with their customer service either it’s garbage.

Incredible incompetence
The pain medicine for my dog never came. I called to ask at least twice what was going on. Tracking it in transit it went from PO to PO without ever arriving. I called and asked for the medicine order to be refilled and expedited. They never sent the order again! They sent an email saying they were awaiting vet approval for a prescribed medicine that they were supposed to deliver two months earlier. I will never use this pharmacy again and I'm switching vets because of them.
Good Customer Service
customer service helped me adjust an order and has so far delivered medicines well. Their prices are higher than Chewy but they have some decent sales.
