This was a very special event for me as went in cosplay
I approached an ‘official’ photographer commissioned by MP who agreed to take photos for me
I’d have made any payment or charity donation required and later contacted them on instagram
Back in November was told I’d have the photos in the next day or two
As of today he’s blocked my account on instagram
I reached out to Monopoly Events at their email address after the event tk ask for help, got no response
All in spent £300 on celebrity autographs, weekend tickets
I went on my own and this was a huge deal for me. To not get those photos is crushing

I sent a metal plaque to Monopoly Events in Liverpool for an autograph session. I initially made a mistake during the booking process, which was corrected. My package demonstrably arrived at Monopoly. Unfortunately, they can no longer find my item and I'm not receiving any response. My money is gone. Very unprofessional.
Mostly a great experience. A bit expensive but some great guests and sets. The event has gotten even better with the opening of the Green Zone. Everyone very welcoming and a great day out for the family.
fast paced, overfilled, and everything unorganized. no worker would help, and ignored US. management needs to step it up, paid too much for this.
Comic con Liverpool today your security telling people with kids they can't go out the door!
Because of a stupid 1 way system fourcing massive crowds to all squeeze out of one door!
My daughter needed fresh air and to get away from the over crowding that was happening
Learn to use your discretion as not everyone who is disabled has to have a wheelchair!
This guy being aggressive and getting in my face for going out the door because I needed to get my daughter outside you're a disgrace comic con we usually go every year not anymore!
I always have a brilliant time at this event- they have great guests, it's well organised, and there's a great variety of stalls and vendors. It gets bigger and better every time! Completely recommend for a great convention experience.
The staff that work for monopoly events are really helpful, really want everyone to have the best experience
The con has such a wide variety of guests to cater to everyone and have quickly got the well deserved reputation of getting the top guests in the uk!
The stalls are brilliant, lots of different things to buy and caters to everyone
Although sometimes issues with the venue staff not knowing how to manage the flow of people and sending people on unnecessary long routes its understandable with how they want to keep everyone safe and moving (and no fault of the event organisers themselves)
A great community and a great weekend out whatever your interests, there's something for everyone
Been to Comic Con Liverpool 3 times, my first being May 2024, then again in November 2024 and most recently the one just gone.
First off, WOW, the guest lists for these 3 alone was insane. Heroes of mine I never dreamt of being able to meet in person: Orlando Bloom, Sean Astin, Andy Serkis, Ralph Fiennes, Sebastian Stan, Liv Tyler, James McAvoy, Hayden Christensen, Jason Isaacs to name but a few.
Yes it’s always pretty busy but considering what I’ve seen at other conventions it never felt like too much. Was very well ran and even when delays happened staff did their best to keep everything flowing smoothly and were always extremely helpful whenever I needed assistance with something.
Great selection of stalls set across the 3 buildings and food vendors were available but if you wanted to leave to eat elsewhere you were able to come and go as you please as well as bring in your own food if needed.
I struggle massively with anxiety and have always had many autographs/photos booked so I opt for a diamond pass which I highly advise if you’re like me. However I have friends who have managed just as many on a standard entry ticket so all depends on how much queuing you can tolerate physically/mentally.
I prefer to do my browsing/shopping of the stalls near the end when most of the big crowds have dispersed and I can have a good peruse of everything. Sundays are usually quieter in general than Saturdays too so keep that in mind if you struggle with big crowds.
The cosplays from people coming and the professional cosplayers walking around the convention were fantastic, everyone was always happy to have their photo taken with me and was just an all round positive vibe.
Overall I’ve always had a great time at Comic Con Liverpool and already excited for November 🙌🏼
I had a health emergency while waiting for Hayden Christensen. The staff handled it very appropriately, and even placed me into a cooler room so I could recover and they saved my place within the queue. I had an issue getting down the stairs due to a lift not working, so a very very kind monopoly staff worker helped me plus my wheelchair down the stairs as they walked past.
Never had any issues that couldn't have been fixed/solved. The staff are incredibly friendly, the venue is wheelchair friendly (a big win for myself and other wheelchair users).
Any issues and the stuff is always willing to lend a hand! I missed out on a photograph with a guest due to Hayden's queue being very long, I spoke to them and they were very happy to transfer my photo to the Sunday!
Very lovely people and staff all around!
Didn't get my James McAvoy photo or Michael Chiklis signature, they think you can just go from one end to another in seconds, they blame me for the 5pm timeslot for the photo which was for a autograph I only just realised, very rude staff when I found out I missed James McAvoy, Michael Chiklis wasn't there for the signature when we waited for him, it's all balls!! You have to be elsewhere and they expect you to be at places right at a time or else!! The queues are massive, 70 minutes in Cobra Kai photo. That was £95 for James McAvoy and £60 for Michael Chiklis stolen from me by these thieves who say oh it's non refundable. Then there is the security which we had to deal with when one of our bags was stolen while we were getting out Dina Meyer photo, they said the bag will come back because they had another, it was a lie, they knew it was stolen and we had to keep going back there to check, we know who it was now because it's on the photos in Dina Meyer, it made us miss Starship Troopers q&a and James McAvoy.
Thieves who protect thieves monopoly events
This year was our second time of going to Comic Con Liverpool which always seems to be excellent at first view. There are a few downfalls for this year’s one though. Like for one, they should let people know before purchasing an autograph ticket for a certain guest if that guest doesn’t personalise the photos which means they only put their signatures on it.
Another downfall is not allowing anyone with disabilities to queue up in the diamond pass lane which I believe to be discriminating and unfair despite not having a white wrist band. Especially when we saw ones in wheelchairs going down that lane.
We didn’t appreciate the woman’s attitude towards not making the decision to let us through. Giving the fact that I paid quite a high price for the autograph tickets for the two guests that I wanted to meet. It was a childhood dream of mine to meet them as I am a fan of the Karate Kid movies and the Cobra Kai series. I was totally disappointed them not personalising the photo or having a chat with either of them. One of their signature is more of a huge squiggle and is illegible as it was done quickly.
There are a couple more things that I like to point out are that the two guests just happen to only talk to half of their fans, I was in the half they didn’t talk to which I think is unfair as we all paid the same price for some sort of interaction. Other guests are able to do it why can’t they.
Finally I would like to mention that while queuing up for one guest we didn’t appreciate that a person with a Diamond pass decided to stand in front of us instead of going to the back of the queue with the others with a white wrist band. He totally ignored both my father and me.
While I do appreciate that anyone with white wrist bands have certain perks including getting to the front of the queue that still doesn’t give them the right to cut in front of someone in a wheelchair by jumping the queue. Neither of the guests noticed my t-shirt or pin and didn’t talk when getting the photo.
I think that if you take this all into consideration then the next event might go smoothly and better for everyone.
Very disappointing. The staff were just absolutely rude. This is the first time attending the Liverpool con, having previously visited the one in Scotland. Safe to say never again. Absolute rubbish!
Speaking on the May 2025 convention.
I couldn't be more disappointed in my local comic con. One of my favourite aspects of going to a con is the wonderful independent artists, however there were so few of them and they were all scattered around or put in the greenhouse that was the MS arena main walkway. Meanwhile the main hall where the artist alleys usually are, was full of dropshippers, resellers and straight up scam artists. One example me and my partner ran into was looking at a figure, checking the price of it online put it at around £35 (give or take 5), but when we asked the price of it at the stall, the seller proposed it was £90! Luckily we were wise enough to check but predatory businesses like this that are marking up prices that high shouldn't be welcome to conventions, they're one shade off of being thieves.
Another problem I had at this con was the lack of an event schedule online, and putting well sought after panels on before standard entry. There was no awareness made that people getting standard entry tickets would miss the fantastic four panel, and that really dampened my day, realising that I couldn't have made that.
I really hope monopoly events learns from this time round and gives independent artists a lot more space and attention, and has a harsher filter on who sells at their convention's going forward. As well as putting their event schedule online more openly, and reassessing the times of panels to be more friendly to general entry tickets holders.
The booking process is very unclear. One guest ticket say you meet and greet anytime between 9am and 6pm yet to attend says late entry 12:30pm. Not clear at all. Phone line no answer. Won't be attending again. Say you have to read all terms and conditions but why? When you can just make the booking system clearer?
What a fantastic day out! Loved every minute of it and can't wait to go to the next one! Every single time we go we have the best time and there is always so much to see!
Had the most fantastic day on the Saturday well done all at monopoly events for such well agonised event can’t Waite for nxt one only complaint was the price ov food was really high and poor quality butibleve that’s the venue at fawlt besides that five star for every think
Honestly think monopoly events only care about taking your money and don't give a s**t about u. First one I went too was in May. Had a few autographs booked but by the time they announced who was going, all Diamond pass had sold. Mostly I went for the lotr actors. Was badly organised as they were all running late. Wasn't given a time slot for Andy serkis and his line was 2hrs. Staff were rude and didn't give a crap. Wasn't give a time slot for him. When I said I had to take my friends highly autistic brother home as he was stressed, they didn't care at all. So lost £90, plus when I messaged them about it, they didn't reply.
The recent one in November, got a diamond pass but couldn't book a slot for Peggy, dogpool, photo online. Wouldn't let me. When I went on the day to see if i could buy one and buy the autograph, they said no. I explained that the system wouldn't let me buy one, there answer in a sarcastic way, not our problem. Bad company, rude staff. Need better organisation and understand frustrations with the people who spend loads of money to come and see theses actors.
Had a brilliant day at comic con Liverpool with my two daughters went on the Sunday loads of stars to see get photos and autograph off I loved the movie cars and even the truck some of the costumes are amazing lots of stores to buy everything movie series related my kids had a ball especially recommend doing one of the panels I did the Sebastian Stan one can’t wait for the next event
Was really thrilled to attend Liverpool Comic Con for the first time and have the opportunity to meet Ralph Fiennes. After reading reviews about previous editions I was worried it would be chaotic, but actually I found it well organised (the timeslots for the big guests are an excellent idea!)
Credit goes to the ground staff who did an excellent job stewarding the site, guiding people to the right places and generally keeping people safe and avoiding overcrowding. They could be quite firm at times, but I guess you have to be with so many people in attendance.
Of course, for such a big event, you have to be prepared to be patient and queue to meet the big stars, but all in all, I found my experience at Liverpool Comic Con really positive. If the guest list is as good next year, I'll be back!
We had a great day at comic con. My son especially loved getting to meet Rupert Grint. And everyone was so lovely to him. I couldn’t fault the staff, how friendly and helpful they were. If guests were running over, they allowed us to go and get our other photos and come back to another time slot. They couldn’t be more helpful, was sad to see some comic con goers shouting and berating staff over long wait times when that’s to be expected. I don’t think people understand there has to be one way systems and parts of the building closed off until it empties due to venue/fire safety rules. It was so busy and they did their best to keep guests safe from overcrowding, we go every year and this one was the busiest I’ve seen but we had an amazing day. The vendors were lovely and my son loved the funko pop stands. Will definitely be going back in May!
