Oh my God! I wish I had found these guys sooner but am so glad I found them now! Their products REALLY DO WORK! I am currently using the preventive powder to help soothe my fur baby's paws from the interdigital cysts she's developed from all the paw licking. From the very FIRST application I would swear she felt immediate relief from the look she gave me. Not only that, she stopped licking and chewing at the paw!! WOW!!

My baby girl has severe skin allergies and has suffered regularly with outbreaks of hot red itchy skin. I have tried everything. Then I took a chance on skin defense. WOW!!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT'S MADE!!! Within 3weeks she is almost totally healed!!! I'm so happy to have found this product. She is noticable better!!! Itchy skin is completely different. No red stains. No digging until she bleeds. And the most wonderful thing,she likes it!! She really likes it. We have a routine. Every morning we do her powder. We rub it in gently and the finish it off with a nice soft makeup brush. It's part of her feel good!! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful product with the world. We spend so much time outdoors with our dogs—lake days, hiking, camping—and somehow those adventures always seemed to come with musty, stinky ears. 😂 We’ve made so many trips to the vet trying to figure out why their ears smell so bad, so finding CoatDefense has been such a game changer for our routine. I've been using Coat Defense powder on my dog, Barney (Pomeranian/Bichon Frise mixed breed), and I'm genuinely so impressed with the results! The powder is incredibly easy to apply, and Barney doesn't seem to mind it at all, which is always a huge plus!

The biggest difference I've noticed is how much less he's been licking since we started using it. It's been such a noticeable improvement, and I'm really happy with how well it's working for him.

I'm so glad we tried Coat Defense and would absolutely recommend giving it a try if you're looking for something to help your pup feel more comfortable. Five stars from both me and Barney!

It is so easy to use! I like that it is made with ingredients I can actually pronounce. I appreciate that it is non-toxic and safe for my pets and family.

Update: the company now offers to assist with a refund after I posted this review. They claimed it was offered before, which is a lie. The two times that I contacted them, I was presented with their ‘30 day return policy’ both times. Now they attempted damage control by publishing their response below.
Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Coat Defense Daily Preventative Powder. Despite using the product as directed, my dog continued to itch, so it did not provide the results I was hoping for.

What made the experience even more frustrating was reaching out to customer service for help. Instead of receiving personalized troubleshooting or meaningful assistance, I received what felt like a generic response that did not address my concerns. My request for a refund based on their ‘money back guarantee’ promise was also denied, because I decided to try using the product for more than 30 days to allow sufficient time to see some improvement (which did NOT happen). Needless to say, the customer service experience proved to be disappointing and unhelpful.

The biggest issue for me, however, is the mess the powder creates. It stains my tile floors and leaves behind a sticky residue that is difficult and time-consuming to clean.

Overall, the product did not work for my dog, and the customer service did not help resolve the issue. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Coat Defense.

Being into my health and the environment, when I looked up All Natural products, Coat Defense popped up. Looking at the ingredients, I knew their products worked, since I have all of them in my linen closet to use myself. Having them blended in a ready to use products to help the everyday customer, truly is a blessing for all pet owners and the owner themselves. Mother Nature is the best doctor there is, and Coat Defense is the pharmacist. It has helped my mom's senior dog, my neighbor's dog, and my sisters' dogs & cats. My daughter also uses it for the horses she works with. The CD Clean deodorant in human line, is great not only as a deodorant, but as a dry shampoo, shoe freshener and I use on my contact dermatitis that I get in the summer from my wet bathing suit. Great having affordable chemical free options. I recommend to everyone!

Our girl gets bad yeast infections and loses most of her hair, digs constantly and gets this really bad smell that no amount of baths would get rid of it. We spent $1000's of dollars trying to find something that would help her. Finally I came across Coat Defense. She no longer has the smell. She can actually get sleep. Her hair is grown back. She loves having it put on her. She just lays there all spread out ready for her powder. Definitely recommend this product.

I have tried most remedies - I'm not listing them all but it was costly in looking for a solution for my ChiWeenie's red raw skin. I kept coming across Coat Defense and thought what have I got to lose - except my little ole' Kai? I gave him a soapy bath and got all his little corners. Then I dried him softly and used the powder with a face brush. About 2 weeks ago he has calmed down considerably - but I thought I'd wait to leave a review. Today was a second bath and powder treatment. I now feel bad for him because he was used to using his time to scratch and nip himself. Now he stands there just rather enjoying his new found time. If his healing process continues, I'll come back and leave the 5th star

My dog always smells of yeast during the rainy season, and has to have zyrtec or apoquel daily for itching. As soon as I sprinkled on the powder all over her body, she immediately stopped scratching, and slept all night. She scratched when outside, but stopped inside. So hopeful it continues to work for her. So far, so good.

Coat Defense is the only brand I trust for my horse—and myself. Beyond helping manage his skin issues, I have peace of mind knowing I’m not exposing either of us to harsh or questionable ingredients long-term. Their products offer a simple, effective dry approach to problems that are often driven by excess moisture. They’re also incredibly versatile—I’m still finding new ways to use them all the time.

My Doberman recently had a hospital stay after surgery and rubbed the top of his nose raw on the kennel door. I was worried it would take a log time to heal since he really likes to use his nose and root around in his blankets. His nose is also very sensitive so I couldn't just put anything on it. I needed something that wouldn't irritate it further and also help support his skin while it healed. I decided to try the Something Better Balm. I could tell within minutes that my pup was feeling better and within a couple days the spot was healed! I continue to use it on his paw pads when they get really dry. Love this balm and will be trying their other products!

Made my dogs redness worse. The brown paste stained his white hair bad too. Doesn’t seem to work at all. Don’t waste your money!!

2/5 Update: After engaging publicly on Facebook, the business blocked me instead of resolving the issue.

I am posting this review to document my experience accurately, factually, and with specifics, because this business’s customer service and reputation management are extremely poor when something goes wrong.

Order details:

Order placed: January 23

Total amount: $31.35

Today’s date: February 3

Time spent going back and forth with customer service: nearly 8 hours

Product received: None
Refund received: None

This is not a large order. We are not talking about hundreds or thousands of dollars, yet this situation was unnecessarily dragged out and escalated entirely by the business.

Shipping & tracking facts:

The package stalled on January 29 and has shown the same USPS message since then:

“In transit to next facility, arriving on time”

At the same time, USPS also states:

“Was expected yesterday” (February 2)

The tracking map places the package around Dulles, VA, where it appears to have been since January 27. I live in Florida. We are not geographically close. Based on all available tracking information, the package is clearly lost or severely misrouted.

What the business refused to do

Before ever asking for a refund, I asked for a replacement to be sent overnight so the issue could be resolved immediately. That request was refused.

I was told:

“We are a small business and would have to reship hundreds of orders… we cannot afford to overnight new shipments.”

I was also told:

“This will be handled the way we are handling it.”

And:

“You can choose to no longer do business with us.”

Rather than offering a proactive solution, I was repeatedly told they were “waiting on USPS,” with no ETA and no defined point at which the package would be considered lost.

The refund issue:

When I asked for a refund due to non-delivery, I was told a refund would only be issued once the package was returned to them.

This makes no sense.

How do you return a package that is lost?

I was instructed to:

Leave notes for the USPS carrier

Try to refuse delivery (despite not being present at delivery)

Attach notes to the box if it ever shows up

The burden was placed entirely on me, even though I never received the product.

Tone and conduct:

Throughout the exchange, I was repeatedly reminded that:

They are a small business and “can’t afford” to resolve issues

Hundreds or “thousands” of other packages were delayed

“Most customers are being understanding and cutting us slack”

As if customer service is determined by how quiet other customers are.

Later, the tone shifted again, this time into emotional manipulation, reframing the issue as emotional rather than factual:

“That’s too bad… we have an effective product that could really bring relief to your pup… it’s so terrible to watch our precious pups suffer…”

This was inappropriate and irrelevant.
The issue was simple:

I paid for a product. I did not receive it.
A replacement was refused.
A refund was refused unless a lost package somehow returned.

How the conversation ended:

After clearly and calmly stating that I was requesting a refund only and disengaging from further discussion, customer service ended the conversation with the following message:

“Excuse me for trying to understand… have a happy life and I hope you can get through this.”

That response speaks for itself.

The product itself may work, I’ll never know. What I do know is that when shipping goes wrong, this business prioritizes policy defense and tone-policing over customer trust.

If you’re considering ordering from this company, understand this clearly:

If your package is delayed or lost, you may be left waiting indefinitely, told they’re a small business that “can’t afford” to help, and denied a refund unless you return a package that never arrived.

I will not be doing business with them again and I strongly encourage you to look for an alternative product /company or make it yourself at home; the ingredients seem simple and another review above said she made it for less and works great!

I purchased through Amazon. Thankfully and can get a refund. I have a 12 year old coon hound who gets full body yeast infection. You know, Ears,Chin, Pits, Feet and Belly. Just like directions said. At first he was fine. The makeup brush for ears and toes was awesome idea. He didn’t mind that for the first time. That was the last good thing. He was bathed the day before so I put powder in a dish and brushed on the harder areas. That night was fine. The next day however, every where I put powder was bright red and his poor ears were swollen and beet red. Between his toes, belly and ears were really bad. I thought we’ll give it a few days. Maybe it needs time to work. Nope. Well over a week and a half I stopped using it. Ears are so bad he can’t even shake his head without crying. Felt like I was worst dog mom ever. I would not recommend this for any animal. Back to the vet I go and I’m sure my bill will be even higher to recover from this product that made it worse than it already was. Thankfully through Amazon so I can get a full refund.
Don’t waste your money.

I bought a "bundle" for dogs. My dog has yeast issues and because people were raving about how it helped their dog with them, I thought I would give it a try. Well I did and it only made his yeast issues worse. I applied the powder as directed and his skin kept oozing for 2 weeks and I just kept applying more like the instructions said to do. His skin was so red and inflamed and he was so miserable I had to stop. I used the shampoo, and that seemed okay. Total waste of money.

After seeing a video of someone raving about this product, it gave my desperation son hope, that my dog's itching problems would be relieved...so I purchased a "bundle" of the product and in addition, the paste for my daughter. It was $80 total. I used the shampoo, powder and used the paste on a sore.It did absolutely nothing it advertised doing. When I contacted the company, they refused giving me a refund, even when I offered to send everything back. I have kept it in the closet because I couldn't accept that I wasted good money on garbage and the company couldn't care less about the customer. Just recently I through it all in the trash bin where it belongs. I suggest you don't bother wasting your money on their products and a company who won't make good on it when the customer realizes the product is garbage. That's my experience.

I read so many good reviews and hoped this was going to give my shihtzu some relief he is so uncomfortable and the licking is out of control. I tried a small test area on the back of his neck and thank God I did. He immediately started acting funny, pawing at his ears and rubbing his face around the floor. I immediately wiped him off with a cool cloth. Wasted money.

I was going out of my mind because my little dog was going out of her mind scratching. She would belly crawl on our asphalt driveway. She was so miserable! I tried everything I could find. And any home remedies I could think of. Even shots! I came across this product on FB. The reviews were impressive! None were bad that I read! I ordered the shampoo and powder. It arrived in 4 days. I immediately washed my dog in the shampoo. I dried her then applied the powder. In less than an hour, she smells good and she's completely stopped
scratcing!!! The redness has disappeared! Thank you so much Coat Defense! I will never let these products run out! We will finally sleep tonight!

I read a ton of reviews and looked at pictures of bulldogs getting allergy relief. My American Bulldog- Hank has allergies and gets itchy, smelly and licks a lot particularly during summer. He gets steroid shots but he has other reactions to that so really wanted to try this. I used it and he smelled amazing and was not itchy. A few hours later I put the powder on. Within a couple of days, I noticed he was walking funny and was licking way more than normal. His underbelly was not just a little pink it was fire engine red and hurting so badly he barely allowed me to look at it!! I immediately got him in a cool bath and washed him with the ZYMOX he normally gets bathed in. Within a few hours he was getting better and by the next morning it was all cleared up. DUMB ME- I assumed he got into something outside sooooo this past Friday I bathed him in the coat defense shampoo and again applied the powder— SAME THING happened but this time I caught it in progress and before it turned fire engine red. I immediately hosed him down and washed him in the ZYMOX and within a few hours of getting the residue from the coat defense off he is already starting to clear up. What I don’t know is if its the powder or the shampoo or the combo of both. I guess the saying is true—- if its too good to be true it probably is…. My poor fellow paid the price for my bad descison - cause I mean if its on facebook it must to real/true right?? WRONG!!!!
