Huge thanks extended thanks to CMR who expertly moved us with such efficiency and expertise. Their friendly supportive and personalised approach was just what we were looking for. Highly recommend CMR Relocation

CMR relocation were a pleasure to deal with, making our house move very smooth and stress free. The lads who packed up our home were polite, trustworthy and hardworking and Darrin had great communication and ensured the move was coordinated and timely. Would use again and would highly recommend.

A perfect move

At a time whilst seeking a removal company I was fortunate to see CMR on another job. I spoke with Darrin the company owner and was very impressed with his knowledge and attitude. I asked him to quote which he did . We had some higher and some lower quotes but it was more about attitude professionalism and reliability. We gave him the job and it was most certainly one of our best decisions. Darrin and his team were excellent we were we were so please with the results of their hard work. Should you use them you can remove any concerns they are totally trust worthy.

Outstanding removal experience …

Our heartfelt thanks to this amazing team. All of the lads moving us were friendly,respectful and went above and beyond for us
Darrin and his team gave us a 5*service. We have a number of high value artwork which needed protecting upon the move Darrin took him time and care when dealing with the art work ensuring they were wrapped protected and put into a safe space at our new property. Some of our furniture were larger items and moving into a smaller house raised some questions if indeed it would fit the teams stopped assessed and make the a plan before executing the move - it was wonderful to see

Team work makes the dream work and this wonderful team really did that

You won’t regret choosing CMR!

We would unreservedly recommend CMR for your domestic move. Darrin, Shane and the team made our recent moving experience seamless … and even, dare I say it, enjoyable!

From the moment I contacted Darrin for a quote, until the move was completed, the service was excellent. The initial meeting and quote was extremely thorough which we found helpful. The team delivered exactly what was promised, at a fair price. Using their packing service was the best decision we made.

Darrin’s communication was clear throughout the whole process. Darrin and the team were all very professional. They were very considerate and easy company to have in our home. They all worked extremely hard for the 3 days they were with us. Darrin was quick to respond about a couple of missing items which they subsequently found and delivered to us promptly.

Big thanks to Darrin, Shane and the team.

Wouldn't move without CRM now, they've made moving a dream!

CMR have moved us twice now, about an hour between locations each time. The first time we moved, in 2022 Darrin was the only mover of half a dozen we contacted for quotes that even bothered turning up to the house to assess it for a quote.

As part of the moving package they also come and pack everything prior to the move and dismantle anything that needs to be dismantled on the day of the move. The difference between moving with and without them is like night and day, they have helped make the moving process much less stressful.

Both times we have used them they have been incredible, working without complaint, even though we somehow seem to always pick the hottest days to move on!

Darrin, Shane and the rest of the team have always been great guys, very professional and really easy to get along with.

Absolutely disgusting company

Absolutely disgusting company! Give these a wide berth! Especially darrin if your a female tries it on and when he gets rejected out comes the unlawful terms in his contract like a petulant child that didn't get his way! People of Bowdon stay well away!!

A truly professional Company

Darrin and his team were absolutely fantastic! I had been messed around with my moving dates on 3 occasions, Darrin remained very patient with us and offered a lot of advice and solutions to our problem.
Moving day came, CMR arrived on time, packed us up and moved us the following day. All of our belongings arrived in perfect condition. Despite the horrendous weather conditions, not a single mark was left on our brand new carpet due to the thorough protection laid down.
A truly professional company, Thank you CMR!

Negligent & Insensitive

Long story short, the team are not as careful as they need to be.

To summarise the service I received; I had multiple items damaged due to improper packaging and/ or handling. I had an ongoing dispute with Darrin after this and I was unfortunate to learn that I was not covered for this damage as I overlooked the clause in the contract that states 'for cover of more than £40 per item' additional insurance is needed.

My two main areas of complaint here are:

a) I expect my belongs to be treated with the utmost care and respect. Darrin tried to play the damage down as accidental, however the improper packaging and handling that I can evidence would suggest that the root cause is NEGLIGENCE.

b) During the survey Darrin should do his best to flag the need for enhanced insurance. It's easy to see that a TV for example will likely cost more that £40 to repair/ replace.

In addition to the dispute around damages, I had several issues with things being packed when I asked them not to be, items being missed in rooms and a lack of care given to the properties involved. Coverings were put down but not replaced when disturbed.

In addition to the poor relocation services I encountered there is also the matter of Darrin's approach to customer service. After a lot of back and forth about the damage I have the following personal opinions/ observations to share:

a) He was reluctant to apologise until I flagged that he hadn't, several emails in
b) He shunned any responsibility and stuck to the line about my oversight when it came to the insurance. This can be seen in his response below.
c) He appears to be devoid of any sentiment when I spoke of irreplaceable items damaged beyond repair. Also evident in his response to this review.
d) He threatened me with legal action if I wrote a negative review. He later retracted this.

In summary CMR Relocation, for me, were negligent/ careless, lack customer focus, ignorant and unprofessional. I would strongly suggest you avoid them.

The fact this was 8 months ago is irrelevant, I have had this on my todo since the day we ceased emailing. I wanted to ensure I gave this sufficient time to write a reflective and honest review as I discussed with Darrin.

Here is the full email in which I said the move 'went well' for context. The edited version posted by Darrin does not reflect the sentiment behind the statement and also makes clear that regardless of the outcome of the insurance claim this review was incoming.

I am also happy to upload the full email thread to a public server and post the link if anybody would like to see the full exchange, legal threats and all..

Even had I of read the contract and paid for extra insurance, you would have still broken things. Clearly no lessons are learnt here.

Overall the move ‘went well’, all our stuff made it and the majority was undamaged. Though lets also not forget the chairs I asked to be left out which where among the first things to be packed.

This would have gone further regardless if I’m honest. At the time I raised the claim one box remained unopened. In that box I found, crushed beyond recognition, my button hole from our wedding day. It had not been protectively wrapped and simply put in a box with other lose items, much like the forever roses I bought my wife after we lost our first pregnancy. Devastated about sums up how I felt about that. I didn’t follow up as no monetary amount would resolve that.

Ultimately it’s an item worth less than the £40 limit that has driven me to this point.

This is going this way because your team where not careful enough and sentimental items where damaged.

If this where about money i’d have taken the £120 on offer, or perhaps threatened a bad review unless you paid me direct. In all honesty this is beyond money, I wouldn’t accept anything at this point.

If adequate insurance is advisable, perhaps advise it verbally as well?

I don’t think there is any need to continue this conversation. If you feel the need to spend your money on solicitors fees in response to my review then so be it. I’m confident however that will get you nowhere."

John I have deleted my first post because I was responding from my phone and noticed various errors.
Your initial move was into storage which went very well , and overall the move out of storage went well also , your words.
The damage that occurred during the delivery was accidental, not negligent however I'm sure you will disagree with that.
The insurance cover you had in place with me was for limited liability , which came FOC and covered you for 25k total loss and £40 per item per claim. This is clearly explained on the acceptance form and our T&Cs, you mention i should have explained this verbally to you also, is there not an onus on your part to look at the cover and if you're not happy with the cover , call the office and ask for an explanation and or increase in cover?.
Which we would have happily offered
You also mention that sentimental precious items had been damaged beyond repair and you mentioned a button hole.
The T&Cs are there to protect you as our customer and CMR as a business. They clearly state that any PRECIOUS, OR EXPENSIVE NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE ITEM ARE THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY NOT THE MOVING COMPANY. Had you told me or one of the team about the button hole and forever roses and their obvious sentimental value we would not have packed and put them into storage. Certain items because of what they are should not go into storage especially as i could be weeks or months.
As for my lack of customer service, i have approached this as a business , and purely stated the facts, unfortunately you have taken this personally and that I don't care , which is incorrect. Had you read the quote correctly and also the T&Cs I'm sure we wouldn't be having this conversation.

CMR RELOCATION 5* removal service…

CMR RELOCATION are an absolutely fantastic removal service. I have used this company both times I have relocated.

Polite, helpful and brilliant at their jobs.
Darrin, Shaun and the rest of the team were professional at all times and nothing was too much.
Can’t thank the team enough for how effective and quickly they moved myself and my son, this includes dismantling and rebuilding mine and my sons bedroom furniture. Even when there was a slight issue in rebuilding my sons bunks beds Shaun was on hand to deal with the problem and this was resolved immediately.

What a great removals company!

Fantastic experience throughout. Earl is an absolutely wonderful guy - very thorough, polite, diligent and an amazing work ethic. Earl packed most of our things in the run up to our move date. We then has two others (Aaron and Jason) join on our move date. All very friendly, professional and efficient. Made moving very easy and actually really good fun! We had a challenging move into our new home and the guys were very supportive and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

Excellent Service and Very Professional

We found Darrin, Earl, and Shane at CMR a real pleasure to deal with. From the start where Darrin and I juggled the dates between us for a double move between the chain, we found Darrin very accommodating and patient, and full of guidance, albeit the dates changed several times.
Prior to the move the team assisted with bringing around packing materials and offered a pre-move packing service.
On the two days of our move Darrin, Earl and Shane were very professional, helpful and friendly, and made the stress of moving very calm for us all. The move went very well, and I would highly recommend Darrin and the team at CMR for your move.

Earl was an absolute pleasure to have in our home while he was packing up! What a nice man! On the day we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Everything went swimmingly. All the guys worked so hard to get us in our new house within the day. Would highly recommend CMR!!

Highly recommend Darrin and his team

Highly recommend Darrin and his team, we used them recently to move my mum to a bungalow and from start to finish they were professional and helpful, also patient and understanding as we experienced several delays and set backs. Even so close to Xmas they were extremely accommodating and it all helped to make a stressful period much less so. I noticed someone else used the term 'dream team' and that's exactly how my mum described them, nothing was too much trouble they were pleasant, respectful and worked hard! Also the cost was extremely competitive. Can't ask for more than that, we have already recommended them to family members.

DREADFUL & TRAUMATIC

I am a 76 yr.old disabled widow who can neither think nor move fast & am not technical. I asked Darrin for a paper copy of his original quote, but this never materialised. He came to see me before Xmas & rushed me while I wrote 2 cheques & I have no idea whether of not I have been overcharged. I was accused of taking things which I had not mentioned originally, but I had sold lots of items beforehand. They left behind a fridgeful of food, broke a couple of things & labelled some boxes wrongly, making it difficult to find what I initially needed. Darrin was hassling me throughout the day & complaining that it was taking too long. He left without saying goodbye & when I rang him a week later to ask about picking up empty boxes, which had been promised, he actually hung up on me. The other two employees involved (Earl & Shane) were both very friendly & helpful. I found the whole experience very upsetting & worse than looking after my ex-husband with dementia, which I did solely for 6 years.

In my history of working in the removal sector over 25/30 ... years I have never received such feedback. It's good that you were positive about the majority of the team. And it just seems to be me you're not happy with.
1) I hand delivered the quote , which you misplaced, I then emailed the quote which you then couldn't print off because of the broadband

2)you weren't packed and ready for the moving crew as your contract stated

3) when you book any move you pay a deposit, you couldn't get online for Internet banking so you paid me a cheque,that is normal practice.

4) You paid £780+vat for a 2 day move which included a packing service,which is extremely competitive

5) You told me during the survey you would be getting rid of lots of items which you didn't, and we then had to pack and take more items than I had quoted for this has a negative impact on time not to mention more work for the team.

5) Yes this move did take longer than it should have because you would not let me and my team pack items as required and did nothing but hinder the whole move process.
You are a very difficult lady to deal with. Your daughter even felt sorry for us.
6) I came up to say goodbye but you were busy so I asked Shane to pass this on.

7) you rang me for boxes to be collected, I was driving and the signal dropped, your number came up as private so I couldn't call back. I thought you would call me back but you didn't.

8) I'm sorry you've obviously had a tough time with your husbands illness and your hip issues, which you constantly told me and my team about how hard life has been and still is , and you didn't want to move. This was your daughters idea not yours.

I don't think you were unhappy with the service, unfortunately you are unhappy with life. And just because I tried to guide you and tell you what was required to move your property and what was needed you didn't like it. I am glad you thought Earl and Shane did a good job. In life we all have crosses to bare Christine , it's how you deal with them that counts.

Excellent service

Excellent service! After being let down we rang Darrin on Thursday to help us move the next Tuesday. Darrin was straight round to give us a quote and managed to fit us in. Darrin, Earl & Shane showed up and had the house packed onto a huge lorry in absolutely no time at all. They had it off the van in the new place equally as fast! They were careful with everything, nothing was damaged and they were all genuinely really lovely, friendly guys who didn’t stop all day! They really took the stress out of a last minute move and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone. Thanks again guys, Lucy & Jimmy
