I first spoke to this company in April last year, where I was sold the dream. I was told that i wouldnt be charged until i win the case, a guy called ben called me and told me id get my refund money within a few weeks. but since that point I have been blatantly ignored, they always avoid my emails, they rarely answer my calls, and when i can finally get through to them they tell me "no ones available to discuss this at the moment" "we will call you back". apparently calls are recorded, i have requested i am sent my recordings, this info has also been withheld from me. They are essentially an utter scam. they also claim in emails they will refund if they don't deliver, but dont be fooled because they do not withstand this claim. I will not be letting this go and ii wil be pressing further to get the money I owe.

Avoid these people at all cost. They have all the right words to advise a reduction in business rates is possible and convince you to suspect a good result due to their ability to navigate the process with the valuation office.
But really they are nothing but scammers raking in gellable peoples cash with no intention in getting a reduction. I suspect they have scammed tens of thousand business.

Absolute scammers, for anyone reading this please stay clear of this company. They operate under Clements Agency or Business Rates Relief Itd. They are doing fraudulent activity in what appears to be a legal way. They trick you, but if you record phone calls, and listen back, you realise that they take your card payment, put you on hold, send the email with their terms, then process they payment. So it appears you had their terms first, but actually you gave your card details first. You fight them and this is the way to get your money back.
DO NOT EVER CONSIDER USING THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY.

never requested any services from Business Rates Relief Ltd, nor did I sign any contract with them.
Despite this, the company claimed there was an agreement and tried to demand payment through threatening legal action and applying undue pressure.

I have filed a defence in court, and the case has been allocated to the Small Claims Track.
This experience was stressful and time-consuming, and it appears they use aggressive tactics to obtain money from businesses without proper authorization or a valid contract.

I strongly advise anyone considering their services to be very cautious and verify all documentation before engaging with them.

Very similar experience to other on this site. Cold called and told that I could save on business rates. Told them I was not interested and that my accountant had already got me reduced rates. But said I only had to pay £5 for them to investigate. I quite clearly asked that there would be no more charges and there would only be charges if I wanted to proceed once they had done the original discovery. They came back a few weeks later and said they would save me money but I had to pay £999 at which point I said I was not interested. They went ahead and took the money from my account. I called them many times but they would not answer or respond. Like others eventually went to court and the judge looked at the evidence I judged in my favor and then they had to pay me the money back with interest. The only issue is this whole process took 2 years and I am sure there are people who lose their money because the process takes too long. Very unethical company

Scammers - avoid!!!!
Don't use business account to pay them the £5 they ask for.
Then the big fee nearly came out and Lloyds stopped it.
Following letters to take my mum to court for the money, and a court date received, we pulled a case together and clements didnt attend.
Take them to court. You've a good chance of winning, we found a loop hole. These are scammers and cowards. Disgraceful individuals.
They were using forceful tactics on their tape they submitted as evidence. They messed right up with us. Fight!!!

Scam company how they continue to get away with scamming people out of a small fee over the phone to "look at your rates" and then use that payment as agreement to a permanent contract without actually reducing your rates and producing fake reports is beyond me! Ended up in court,don't let bully you into paying a good judge will see straight through them. Word of warning they produce fake emails and time stamps so take as much evidence as possible with you and beware Clements Agency & Business Rates Relief Ltd are the same scammers!! Reported both companys to Action Fraud.

Do not hand over any money, bank details or share information. Do not exchange emails or communicate with any of them.
There sales pitch involves telling you they can reduce your business rates - no information was ever forthcoming and the aggressive nature from all at Clements Agency was very disconcerting and very stressful.
After 2 years of battling with them, they decided to take us to court - we took a punt and it paid off - the case was thrown out of court "Claim Dismissed" on March 24th 2025.
Clearly we are not the only ones who have experienced this sham of an organisation.

I got similar experience as others.

Approached 5.95 initial fee to check the eligibility of business rates reduction and confirmed I am eligible. After 2 days they took £900 from credit card with out even told me when i have asked told me sent email but initial agreement is no win and no fee.

Like everyone said in the review until two years no message after so many follow up confirmed by that I am not eligible for business rates relief.

These guys are scammers - any way we can get my money back from this company at all and advise please.

Had to pay inital £5.99 process fee
Fortunately we did not not pay on a card
They did absolutely nothing until 1 year later we received a county court judgement from them requesting £995
Subsequently we called them out and went ahead with the civil case
I have just returned from the court they did not even show up, judge struck the case out and awarded me expenses. Do not feel intimidated by them call their bluff

Be careful of this company - offer rates check for £5.99 and then they push you for £900 fee. Two years later still no refund and no improvements in rates and they just quote their contracted timescale. Never pay them or anyone else anything up front for rates review as you are entering into a subtle contract where they appear to be squeaky clean but to 99% of the population it amounts to a scam. Apart from anything the communication and service level is awful so you try to email others and then when they finally reply you get wrapped on the knuckles for involving others to get a reply. Seems some have got on okay but I'd say go to a professional who can advise properly and not charge until the work is complete. See other websites like: Reviews IO, Scam Adviser, etc

THEY ARE SCAMMERS. If there are any good reviews here, they are fake. After taking their payment, they provide you with absolutely nothing. I have sent them countless emails for an update but they don't have anything. I have warned them, reported them, and am not afraid to take them to court. They have taken £1000 without providing the service they promise and reject if you ask for a refund (which they promise you at the start that they will refund if they don't give you what you asked for within 6 months). I wish I had seen their reviews sooner. BE AWARE AND AVOID!

SCAM: Business rate discount Stay away from scammers who do nothing but take you to business county court.

Don't be intimidated by these guys. I was due to meet them in court today because they were trying to sue me for about £1000. They know they had no case so they didn't pay the court fee and the case was struck out. We win. They lose. Don't be intimidated by them and you will win too.
