I have just had my post-op check by my local optician. She confirmed that I no longer need glasses and my post-op results are some of the best she’s seen.
Along with my vastly improved vision, I feel totally justified in choosing Clearsight Abroad for my lens replacement surgery.

I’m an active 72 year old and I’ve been wearing varifocal glasses for about 30 odd years. I just can’t get on with contact lenses. About 6 months ago, I decided to look into laser surgery, but after a discussion with my optician, I decided lens replacement was the way to go. The thought of anyone messing around with my eyes was pretty frightening. But the reviews said it was painless.
I made a few enquiries, firstly locally. Then things started popping up on facebook for eye surgery in Turkey and Prague at much better rates. I don’t trust facebook, so I did my own research and of the replies I received, Clearsight was the one that appealed to me. Eventually I bit the bullet and made contact with Eli who supplied me with all the info I needed.
I paid my deposit and booked my flights for a Sunday to Friday visit to Prague. So the commitment was made.
My pre-op check was at the immaculate Gemini Clinic on Monday morning where I met the lovely Eli, who spoke perfect English. Then followed 2 hours of exhaustive checks for my suitability for this type of surgery and the type of lenses I would require. I had chosen triple vision lenses and as I had an astigmatism in my left eye I would need a Toric (made to measure) lens which I had already budgeted for.
The following day Eli phoned me to say the lens would be ready that evening and I could have the op first thing on Wednesday.
Once again Eli arranged a taxi for me and was at the clinic to reassure and translate if necessary. The whole process was swift and painless, starting with a series of eye drops administered at regular intervals until the anaesthetic was working. The surgeon talked to me during the op which was quite painless. Ok - a bit of discomfort focusing on the bright light, but each eye took about 12 minutes. Although I was extremely nervous, I felt in good hands. I spent the rest of the day relaxing.
The following morning I woke and automatically felt for my glasses to check the time. Then I realised how well I could see, picked up my phone and could actually see the text. Not perfect but I really wasn’t expecting that so soon.
Another taxi to the clinic and the post-op checks which were fine. Eli then went through some do’s at don’ts. I was given a pack including dark glasses, eye drops (very important to follow the instructions), rescue drops for any pain or irritation (not needed as yet), general health tips, and vitamin tablets to help recovery. It was all done in a few days and I was fine to fly home.
A few tips:-
Clearsight arrange and pay for you airport transport, the clinic taxis are extra, but reasonable.
They recommend hotels for varying budgets. Luckily I found a good deal for an apartment in Prague 5. Close to the Andel area with many bars, restaurants, Tesco, Lidl and transport links to the rest of the city.
Speaking of transport, if you’re over 65, public transport is free. Prague is well worth a visit.
In summary I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Clearsight Abroad. I couldn’t fault the service and the end result. A massive thank you to Eli and the team.

I write this review literally 1 week today from my refractive lens replacement surgery in Prague.
I have spent several years thinking about, investigating and deciding to have this surgery (with my sight declining along the way) and at the last minute never having the courage to go ahead.
I came across Clear Sight Abroad by recommendation and decided to contact them. Simona one of the patient co- ordinators responded to my query and questions, liaised with the doctors and arranged a telephone call to answer more queries, nothing was too much trouble and she always came back to me quickly.
I decided to go ahead and booked my surgery. Simona arranged transport from the airport to hotel, hotel to clinic appointments and again back to the airport. Contact was amazing and the timelines were seamless. Simona was with me at all my appointments and translated and explained what I questioned or did not understand, she was truly amazing!
The day of my surgery (I had both eyes done the same day) I could see straight away, a little blurry due to my eyes being dilated but the next day a lot clearer. I was quite emotional as I could read text that I had not been able to see for years as I was expecting to still need glasses for that!
I cannot recommend Clear Sight Abroad enough for their assistance and professionalism - you really do get what is promised. The clinic they use is also number 1 recommended in Prague - ( I googled the backside of it)! You get all your post op care and necessary medication along with certification of your lenses and transcripts for your doctor to take home and all for a fraction of the price you would pay in the Uk!
I realise this is a bit lengthy but if you have taken the time to read it, and decide to go ahead, I am sure you will not be disappointed - what better gift could you give yourself

Fabulous experience from start to finish, Eli my contact could not have done more for me, she made it so easy and sorted out everything. So clear sight abroad are amazing right from the start, they help every step of the way, I got picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel, they help with places to stay too, they send you some good recommendations, where I stayed at the hunger wall of residence is amazing, transportation is sorted for your appointments, Eli my coordinator was amazing she sorts everything out for you making my trip effortless, the clinic is amazing with most people speaking English and everything they do there is very professional, lovely people, but the best part is I had both my eyes done on the same day, I kept glasses on that day because it was sunny, but the next day when I woke up I could see, I mean I have my eyes back again, no more glasses, clear sight abroad you are amazing

It was a great experience. I felt from the very beginning that I was in good hands with the doctor. The operation didn’t hurt at all. I was quite worried at first, but Ellie supported me and explained every step of the process. I had lens replacement surgery and I can truly recommend them.
