It’s a shame there’s not an option to give 0 stars for the Crawley branch.
A couple of years ago I booked a nice automatic 9 seater for my family getaway and to be fair they rung me and refunded me the difference to give me an older version of the minibus which wasn’t overly bad but wasn’t what I wanted. Anyway I let this slip because it sounded like a genuine issue.
This year I booked a brand new minibus 9 seater for a work do in August, I booked this back in June to be certain I will have it.
Paid upfront in June and filled out the drivers forms. I rang the company end of July to make sure everything was still ok for my booking (just because I was paranoid) but I was put at ease as they have “a whole fleet” of new 9 seaters so I will definitely have it.
On the 16th of August, less than 24 hours before picking up the vehicle I receive a call from a man at Crawley branch to tell me that the vehicle has been recalled and no longer available, can only offer me a 6 seater and a car instead which will not work as that’s two lots of diesel and I have to find another person willing to drive a long way.
This is completely out of order and I should never have booked again with them. They completely ruined massive plans for my business that had been booked for months and I had even confirmed because I was paranoid!
Not a care in the world when I had to cancel and get a refund which I hope comes through.
Disgusting behaviour as they expect me to find something in under 24hrs during school holidays.
I’m absolutely raging that this company has done a similar thing to me again. What the guy probably meant to say was, “you paid a cheaper price back then, we got asked for a rental on the same dates and prioritised someone who paid more than you did.”
Absolute wrongens, avoid like the plague

Alquilamos un Toyota Corolla con Choice en el aeropuerto de Sofia. Llegamos por la noche, el coche era matriculado este año. Tuvimos que dejar aparte de pagar el alquiler un depósito de 600 euros.
Como andábamos justos de presupuesto tomamos mucho cuidado de no dañar el coche; conduciendo y cuando lo aparcabamos, con espacio suficiente.
El día de entrega lo dejamos en el parking y subimos al mostrador. Al volver a bajar el coche tenía unas rallas en una llanta del coche, absolutamente convencidos de que nosotros no las hicimos. Se quedaron con los 600 euros, nos sentimos totalmente estafados.

I recently rented a van from the Crawley branch of Choice Vehicle Rentals, and I’m thoroughly impressed with the service. I was given a brand-new Citroën Dispatch, which was in excellent condition. I hired the van for two months, and the rate was highly competitive—significantly lower than other rental companies I checked.

The online booking process was straightforward and user-friendly. Simon and Kevin at the branch were incredibly helpful and made the pickup and return process smooth and hassle-free.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with the experience and will definitely choose Choice Vehicle Rentals again in the future. Highly recommended!

Expérience catastrophique avec cette compagnie de location de voiture. Les deux femmes à l'accueil semblent tellement gentilles et serviables, et en plus elles parlent français, mais c'est tout le contraire. Ce sont de vraies arnaqueuses.
En arrivant à la voiture, nous nous rendons compte qu'elles nous ont fait payer 500 euros pour 2 jours avec assurances pour une Hyundai I20 sans GPS ni caméra, et en allumant la voiture nous a demande d'aller faire le service.
Nous avons donc ramené les clés tout de suite pour demander un remboursement, mais c'était impossible. Elles ont refusé et nous ont dit que nous avions signé le contrat et qu'il ne pouvait plus être annulé. Nous sommes allés voir la police de l'aéroport qui nous a expliqué qu'ils ne pouvaient rien faire car nous avions signé un contrat. Ils nous ont toutefois conseillé de prendre un avocat, mais c'était un samedi en fin d'après-midi et nous devions partir d'urgence pour le sud de la Bulgarie.Pour le retour, ils nous avaient assuré que nous pouvions rendre la voiture à 14h00, mais sur le contrat, ils avaient discrètement écrit 12h00. Ils ont donc tenté de nous facturer une journée supplémentaire à cause de cela.

Extremely disappointed. Starting with the changing the car I have booked. Followed by the warning the any speed tickets will be sent via email/ I was wondering why they telling me that???/- may be their practice.Furthermore telling me that the vehicle is new and doesn’t have any scratches, but it does- I have took some photos. Non- proven charges- paid for 5 min early return of the vehicle - disgusting!!! Paid £100 for high speed, but not any documents we sent to me. Just they charged my card . I’ve emailed them and asked for any Police report- they never replied. Disgusting staff attitude- after I questioned her, why they charged me for returning the car on time, she said you MUST pay the charge because you returned the vehicle 5 min before the time and why else will pay for my fault. ????OMG people. I had a terrible experience with Choice. I rented a small Hyundai for 5 days from the Sofia airport. The personnel is very dishonest and unprofessional. They will try to steal your entire deposit and charge extra expenses on your credit card. When we arrived at the Choice desk at the Sofia airport and asked about the price for renting the car, we were told that it was inclusive of all expenses; however, once we signed the papers they told us that if we wanted insurance we had to pay extra. At first, we got a car that had some mulfunctioning problems, so we had to take it back and substitute it, wasting two hours of our first day in Bulgaria. Instead of being sorry, the personnel told us "you are lucky that we have another car of the same type". When we returned the car with a minor scratch in the back, they took the entire deposit of 360 euros. We also received a 35 euros fine for speeding, but Choice charged on my credit card 102 euros for it.

This used to be great independent family run local Sussex company.
Thanks to corporatism and woke culture. It’s now an authoritarian political correctness corporation, obsessed with micromanagement, box ticking and pigeon holing customers into boxes.
They also take your money up front and take days to refund your cash when they can’t provide services to you.
Avoid them at all costs, very sad indeed to see a previously great company go down hill so much.

i worked in birmingham with cheif and first and foremost adrian and kesh are disgusting human beings one can’t talk properly and one can’t walk properly they send out vehicles smelling of wee and poohand expect the driver to take the flak for it i had a bereavement recently and not one of the managers had the decency to ring and see how i was doing please if you have any sense at all please do not hire from these people they invent damage to vehicles so they can charge excess do not give them your card details unless you see all information required it is a terrible place and sean cunningham should be ashamed of his elf

EDIT WENT FROM A 5 STAR TO A 1 STAR WOULD HAVE BEEN 0 STAR IF THE SYSTEM ALLOWED IT , WAS CHECKING MY BANK ACCOUNT AND THEY HAVE STOLEN MONEY FROM MY DEPOSIT , SADLY THE ROBBING COMMENTS ARE TRUE , i'm glad i never read the customer reviews , rang to inquire over the phone and asked about their electric van , pleasant lass on the phone told me it would not cover my journey on a single charge , so i went for a ford diesel , turned up to pick up the van and oops there was a problem , the van needed a wheel change and the wheel guy was running late , was asked if i minded if i was taken to the hassocks branch to get another van , the detailer in the yard ran me up the road , when there is an issue it's good to see how staff overcome it ,i would have no issue using them again

Terrible company. Crap Vehicles. It's like it or lump it, even if they give you a sub par vehicle. You're just a number to them and they'll treat you like dirt

Appalling, do not use this company. I wish I'd seen these reviews before booking with them. I paid for a manual car online, had a chat with the desk on the phone who verified it would be a manual. I arrived only to be given a very expensive large automatic car which I had to return within the hour as I just was not comfortable. They were angry and rude, kept my money, kept my deposit and I never heard from them again despite them saying they would do so. I will never use them again and have only bad things to say about them.

Absolutely shocking. They took an £800 deposit after saying it would be £200. They didn't tell us or our driver. When I rang to ask for the money back, they hung up on me. Never again.

Had a van for 3 years from the Eastbourne branch. The service I get is amazing cannot fault the service I get .I would not hire a van form anywhere else

Good experience with the Eastbourne branch. Easy booking and the 9 seater I had was very clean inside and out. Very helpful staff as well. Will use again.

I hired a van, paid a deposit and the charge. They followed me, took back the van when I parked. Refused to refund my money. Stole my deposit. A bunch of crooks, don't use them!!!!

They capitalised on the train strike and increased their prices just for the train strike weekend.

one of the worse company in uk the eastbourne manager is the most stress person i never been cross with ,,,maybe problem at home?? i dont know ,,is racist clearly doesnt like foreign ,,the custmer service ,,is just a joke ,,i cannot belive they are in business ,,and the fleet they use to say is old is a compliment ,,,please dont use this people !!!they deserve to close down !!

Hired minibus,it was 3 years old & air conditioning didn't work, when I complained I was told this is not guaranteed. Very disappointed considering it was three years old & it was a very hot day. Complained to head office by email, I have not had a response. Unacceptable.

It's just a horror, not a company. We returned the van undamaged. After three hours, they started calling us and saying that the van was broken. £800 of credit was taken from our bank account without any of our consent. Plus £200 deposit. We tried to resolve this issue through the firm BVRLA. But everything is agreed there. We were not given surveillance video. We're not English, so it's hard to try to sort things out. It is very unfortunate that there are such scammers in this beautiful country. I advise you to contact another company and take photos and videos before and after you rented a van or a car.

Rented a van easily enough but on return the manager spent ages examining it and photographing it to try to prove an invisible dent she claimed I’d made. She kept me waiting ages during which time I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable. Only when I called a friend for advice within ear shot did they decide to ‘let me go’ without a charge. The whole thing felt very dodgy, like they were trying to pull a fast one. I won’t go back.
