The ability to actually practice speaking with fluid feedback is super helpful. Best language-related app I've ever tried.

I don't have a lot of time to practice Spanish, so I was thrilled when I felt ChatPal was a 10x better use of my time than DuoLingo. I could practice whatever I wanted by voice prompt, the app would immediately pivot to a real-life, realistic conversation but with a friendly, helpful interlocutor. The review of mistakes I had made was presented in a direct, super-helpful way. I will be recommending this to everyone I talk to who wants to learn a language!

Best language learning app I’ve ever tried

This app is honestly AMAZING. I’ve tried so many language apps over the years, but this is the first one that truly feels like real conversation practice.

Talking with the bot feels incredibly natural, like chatting with a real friend. And what I LOVE is that you can choose between three different speaking speeds, so it adapts perfectly to your level. With real people I always feel awkward asking them to speak slower, but here I can just focus on learning without feeling embarrassed.

Even better: the app understands me even when my pronunciation isn’t perfect, and it transcribes everything into correct French with proper spelling. That is such a game changer, because it helps me learn naturally just by reading what I said and what the bot answered. It actually makes me feel more confident because I would never be able to write that fast on my own.

After every lesson it also gives you a recap of the sentences you got wrong (grammar, vocabulary, phrasing) and suggests better ways to say things, which is super helpful.

And the conversations never feel boring or scripted. You can take them anywhere. I often ask about history, art, or sports just to keep the conversation going, and it always responds with interesting things so you’re learning while genuinely enjoying the chat.

I use it to keep my French alive. I used to be intermediate, but I don’t have many chances to speak anymore and I was scared of forgetting everything. With this app… impossible. It keeps me practicing every day.

I haven't encountered a language app like this before where the conversation and practice very much mimics the back and forth conversation with a real person. I love the real time feedback and corrections it gives you at the end of every conversation. I find myself using it everyday - on my commute, during my morning coffee, on my daily walks. Very easy and accessible way to get practice in and brush up on my Spanish.

Love how real and natural the conversations feel. I’ve tried tons of other apps like Busuu and Duolingo but I don’t want homework I just want someone to practice with and build up my confidence to talk in real life situations. This is where ChatPal really shines. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I love that I didn’t have to start with basic vocabulary on this app! I could use my background in the language learned and have what felt like a low stakes conversation with a native. I especially appreciate the grammar feedback, which I’ve forgotten over the years. Excited to continue!
