DO NOT use Chase UK Bank - frustrating experience!

DO NOT use Chase UK Bank!

Every time you try to make a payment, you have to go through 100 security steps. After you've done so, they STILL don't approve your transfer! They send you a SMS to ring them. You then have to spend at least HALF AN HOUR on the phone to have the honour of being able to get through to their staff.

These staff are based in the third world and incompetent.

It's only after jumping through several further hoops that they finally allow you to make your transaction.

I have other bank accounts but not ONE other one has anything like this degree of annoyance.

I've wasted HOURS of my time hanging onto to their call waiting system to get my simple transactions approved.

Chase do everything possible to maximise inconvenience for customers and make their lives a misery.

App is rubbish too, in a hundred ways. For example, it logs you out after just 60 seconds of non-use, so you constantly have to login and start again. Not a single other bank I use has an app that logs you out so readily.

No web banking, no branch facilities, can't transact via the Post Office, absolute nothing. This is the Lidl of bank accounts.

Lousy Customer Service

My experience with Chase went from very happy to desperately infuriated VERY quickly. Yes you get a sign up code & yes they do honour it, BUT that is exactly when you should leave.

Repeatedly my transactions would be declined, even though I had authenticated them, not large transactions but repeatedly the same issue.

The live chat literally takes several days to get back to you, with an incredibly American, "apologies" for the delay! They then proceed to blame the receiver of the transaction, yet if you use a different bank account they fly through.

The last "live" chat took two days to respond & basically proceeded to tell me that this is what they do to protect my account. I get protection, I want my money protected BUT I want to spend it where I want to spend it, when I want to spend it.

I will never go near this service again!

I am new to Chase but have to say I’m very impressed with the service and the app too. I like the cash back rewards and the round ups which soon accumulate and with 5% interest too. Very easy to use and looking forward to their credit card if they introduce it in the U.K.,

So far so good.

So far so good, I’m just using their account for saving. Setting up the account was simple on the app.

Had a few issues with some things but was easy to chat to a human on the app and resolve it very easily.

The app seems quite straight forward and not had any issues with it.

Not needed to get any money out so far but will see later down the line.

Poor experience …

Got as far providing my KYC documents and tried at least twenty times each one rejected. After reading the reviews I’m glad I haven’t deposit.

Chase Bank UK - a bit like "Hotel California" - you can deposit money - but it can never leave - Update

I have opened an account with Chase via the app quite easily and quickly. I have made a deposit into the 1.5% saving account. So far - so good. But has anyone tried to withdraw money from the new Chase 1.5% saving account? There seems to be no way. I tried a transfer from the savings account to the current account - but that seems to be in limbo with nothing happening. I tried make a withdrawal from the Chase savings account to an external account but could not do that either.The Chase FAQs do not cover this situation. The US bank Chase.com says 2 to 3 working days to transfer between Chase accounts! Google says next working day for Chase UK! Chase UK say nothing, because everyone is trying to get answers and they do not have enough staff to deal with their problems and an hour on wait is about the best they seem to manage -but they still cannot supply a clear answer. So much for challenger banks!

UPDATE 9/4/22

Without help from Chase (because they took hours to respond and then provided confusing and incorrect information) or their FAQs, I found in an obscure place a "Move Money" button. That allowed me to move money to an payee at an external bank. So that bit is sorted. Whats wrong with Chase UK is that with so many people in difficulty evidenced by Chase UK being overwhelmed by messages most of whom are from people used to app banking, it shows that Chase UK have designed a clunky and unsophisticated system and were not prepared for the consequences of confused and angry customers. The good news is that soon another bank - with proper systems - will come along - with a better interest rate and we will all flock away from Chase. My advice is avoid Chase UK.

Just opened their new UK Current Account

Just opened their new UK Mobile only Current Account and a Savings account at 1.5% having seen them recommended on Money Savings Expert and all seems good.

First attempt in the evening failed due to lights reflecting not allowing the photo taking to work to their satisfaction, but retried during the following day in natural light and it worked fine.

Have transferred some funds and it all seems to work just fine. A positive start.

Not sure if I would recommend Chase to…

Not sure if I would recommend Chase to anyone. My parents would send me money and on a few occasions give me cash. I would deposit the cash into my Chase checking account without any problems. One day I got a letter saying my cash deposits (which were only 2) was a red flag and they gave me 30 day notice to withdraw my money and go somewhere else.
That is Chase for you! JP Morgan Chase is not where you want to bank at all.

Can't even open an account

Can't even open an account. Tried multiple times but will not take the ID photo. I have opened several accounts in the past with no issue so clearly their software issue.
Called them and just sayvtry again!!!
I did, it failed, I'm sitting put.

Shame, Shame on JP Morgan CHASE Bank

I have been with Chase bank now for 21 years now and watched their service decline over the last few years. They are not what they used to be. During PPP 2020 & 2021, I think they had to be the only lender who did not have a phone number for people to contact the PPP department with questions or to follow up. Really? When they mixed up my application with another business I spent months trying to get messages from the branch to corporate to correct the error. I kept getting promised someone would call. No one ever did. It’s been 9 months now. That's how a mega bank does business? They expose another business confidential information and when it comes to fixing that error, no one's there? I am still following up on the same error this year, the same scenario happened. No one has ever called me back about THEIR error which is preventing me from applying for SBA loans (with them or other lenders). This is outrageous. They also have other (Chase created) errors on my file and it has been one year now since I was informed of the error. Don't bank at chase. I am moving all 7 of my Chase accounts over all this lack of performance on Chase's end. CHASE is happy to take your money and thank you by disappearing after that if you need help from corporate and shame on them for not having any email or phone number for PPP applicants to contact them if needed. I’m sure that was so they could do their dirty business in peace (funding loans to businesses who weren’t intended to be recipients). Shame, shame on you CHASE!

DONT BANK AT CHASE BANK 1600 VERMONT!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WILL TRY TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT AND NOT GIVE YOU ACCESS TO SERVICES OR YOUR MONEY!!!!!! So I have had an savings account with Chase Bank at 1600 VERMONT for over 5 years. Today I went in to try to cash some checks and was refused because they said my account was dormant! I told them that I was in the bank last week and the teller cashed my checks so how can things have changed in just one week???? When I refused to accept their explanation , which was that cashed checks were not a transaction, they told me to step out of line and that I would have to see a representative. I said I just spent 1/2 a f**king hour waiting in line so I do not want to do that! Just cash my checks! I had my ID, MY Chase card and way more money in the account than was needed to cover the checks. At this point I'm mad and they tell me to lower my voice OR THEY WOULD HAVE ME ESCORTED OUT AND CALL THE POLICE!!!!! WT*??? I told them to call the police and I'm not moving anywhere until they cash my checks or RETURN ALL THE MONEY IN MY SAVINGS ACCOUNT. ( Whats the point of having an account with them if I can't use it? ) All the while the cashier and managers are laughing at me through the glass window!! Their security guard had come up on me at this point and tried to hassle me just because I wanted an explanation of why they were jerking me around! This is what passes for customer service at CHASE BANK 1600 VERMONT. To make a long story short, I refused to move and forced them to give me all the money from my savings account!!!! NEVER BANK AT CHASE BANK!!!!! STAY FAR AWAY !!!!! YOU WERE WARNED!!!

Avoid! Time wasters playing with people's mental health

Avoid!! Got me to join their waiting list then they sent code saying first in line
Applied and did driving licence. Says takes an hour nearly 4 hours later of unessarary stress and anxiety they say can't open
Time wasters and playing mind games. Time they handed their banking lisense back and leave the UK

Chase bank took out money in my account…

Chase bank took out money in my account 3 weeks ago from a paycheck that the my job had an account with in 2019 I cashed my payroll check that I earned. they let this Fraud in August of 2021 and took this money out (two years ago mind you) of my account. my payroll check in 2019 was one Thousand and seven dollars and the check that was in 2021 written 1,807 but still written one thousand and 7. now how can chase not notice this and Bank of America is the one that sent it to Chase bank for the Funds hmmmm sound like Fraud is within the Banks inside job which is well known for them!!!
they are treating this like a normal transaction I been doing research and its funny how this persons name Kevin comes up in 2 Frauds in the Transaction. A Lawyer and a Fraud investigator independent is on this watch out everyone they think customers are stupid. and theses banks know what this is just by the details....

Under Obama “harp” I was refinancing my mortgage and instead of them lowering it to the Prevailing rate at a time they did not I’m paying 5 1/4% interest never been late paying every month on time and now they have the nerve to come to me and tell me I can refinance so they can suck more money out of me and probably after I pay them Application fee they will tell me no …. I have assets over 3/4 of 1 million but I’m a high-risk !!!!!! the bank is a joke would not recommend anyone to do anything with that bank.Read more reviews they are terrible

I really love chase bank

I been banking with chase bank for
Many years off and on. I have no plans switching my bank . They got tons of branches and atms spread out all over the USA . They treat me well they respect me they understand me. They just the best bank I ever banked with. They just really kind to me they have known me since 2012 . But one thing I wish they can start is personal loans specifically for ssi recepitants to borrow more to work on our credit . That be amazing if they start that with those on Gov benefits to build there credit with personal loans. Set it up for automatic withdrawl every month . Landlords do check your credit history. Believe it or not . They do . I have rarely ever had any problems with them since I first banked with them. They got lovely ladies. At the branches here localy. I have referred people to chase before. I love the app for online banking.
