Great experience completing the 5-day intensive tiling course. Gwynn teaches you at a manageable pace to suit your capability, and having covered both wall and floor tiling, as well as more intricate cuts e.g., around sockets, I am now feeling confident in approaching tiling jobs in my house.

Course tutor Darren was very professional, really knowledgeable and a very helpful guy. Would recommend course and centre for anybody looking to enhance their knowledge or start their journey into a trade.

Having only done a little stick & even less mig welding probably 20 years ago, tig was something I'd like to have a go at. The initial day was to see the joints we were to learn and key information on safety, tip/torch angles and proceedures. We then practiced and Mark gave advice and demo's as much as we needed and when wanted. We then practiced at our own pace, no pressure and Mark/Chris kept a discrete but attentive eye on our progress offering further demo's as we wanted them. By the end of the week we had achieved our own level of welding giving all of us the confidence and ability to go back and actually weld.. Since the course I have invested in an Rtech tig welder with all the safety gear and will continue to improve on what I've been taught confidently. Excellent, well thought out course especialy for begineers to intermediates.

Having never laid a single brick but needed to at least build a small garden wall, the training at CBWA was excellent. Derek explains the process then leaves you to get going. From a discrete distance he monitors and then comes over checks the work and advises where right or wrong. This method of teaching is excellent in that you get to make your own path with corrective advice finishing the week with enough confidence and knowledge to actually build a wall. 100% happy with the training.

Totally worth the cost! Had a great time learning at my own pace and felt supported by my instructor the whole time.

Just completed the intensive plumbing course with Lee, having previously done the plastering with John and the woodwork and joinery with Pete. All brilliant teachers with loads of experience. Learnt loads. There's plenty of time to practice and ask questions as you go along so you can apply it in real life. Everyone really friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to learn a new skill.

Completed the 5 day intensive plumbing course with Lee. I’ve not done much plumbing before this, turned a few isolators on and off so was starting from scratch. Lee was brilliant, he taught us all how to solder copper pipes, use a bending tool and use compression isolator fittings early on so we could then install a full bathroom suite. After we had gotten to grips with pipework and the bathroom suite we hung and then filled a radiator, learning after how to then drain down a radiator system.
As we all had different reasons to be on the course and different things we wanted to know, Lee then tailored the course individually. Learnt real life situations and how to deal with them.
Really brilliant course and Lee is a really good mentor. Have come away really confident about plumbing and doing my own projects.

Completed the intensive plumbing course with Lee. Having done some basic plumbing jobs, this course taught me a huge amount of new skills and ways to tackle issues on jobs. We fitted a full bathroom, piped in and installed a radiator and learned what joints and fittings to use in what situations. We learned to bend copper pipes to correct angles and then solder them. Lee also adapted the course to allow us to learn other things that we wanted to know, such as shower installation, washing machines etc. Great course. Would highly recommend.

Did the week long intensive plumbing course with Lee.
Lee was a great tutor with loads of knowledge and experience. Knows everything there is to know about plumbing. Really good and informative. Loads of hands on work throughout the week and feel much more confident tackling plumbing jobs, from plumbing in a full bathroom suite to changing radiators, soldering copper pipe, fixing leaky taps, toilets etc. It’s been a great experience and I would recommend it to anybody looking to gain some plumbing skills or go into the trade.

I have done a 2391-52 periodic inspection and testing course, it was a 1 week course containing 3 exams, i have done 2 and then did my last exam after a 5 months gap, even though they were not binded to provide me any more sessions and materials but the staff and tutors were so polite and understanding that they let me join them on another course without any extra charges and help me to get my qualifications done, i am so great full to my tutor, Michelle Lovelock, and the CBWA staff members.

So i did the locksmith course. As a female i was quite nervous, but Ollie was amazing, he made me feel very comfortable. I even got a lil confidence boost as the days went on. He's great, if you don’t understand he will happily explain until you understand. Iv had nothing but fun on this course and on the last day i was actually a lil sad as Ollie has just made it nothing but enjoyable from start to end. Hes more than happy to help which is why moving forward im definitely going to stay intouch as some areas might need a little reminder 😆.. but honestly if your thinking about doing the locksmith course GO FOR IT!! 10/10 for me 👍🏽

The centre is well equipped, the teacher was knowledgeable and the course was mainly all practical which was great.

Did the 5 day level 2 mig welding course mark Chris and Nick were all very knowledgeable and very helpful there's a lot of experience between them all I will be looking to book back in for the near future

I undertook the 5 day intensive carpentry course as a complete novice, and I’ve had a great time! We made a saw horse and built a stud wall with a door frame and architrave. We fitted interior and exterior hinges, doors, locks, latches and plates. We practiced a variety of approaches for fitting skirting boards. There were detailed and practical demonstrations around tools, fixings and constructing pitched roofs. There was additional instruction and demonstration for stair balustrades and associated parts.

The tutoring on this course was outstanding. As a DIY renovator, throughout the week I asked Pete question after question after question based on some of the things I’ll be tackling at home and the advice and guidance was always forthcoming. His tutoring style is informal, knowledgable, informative, technically astute, safety conscious, pragmatic and sometimes quite hilarious. It took a while for me to realise he was encouraging us to repeat practical exercises until we understood and corrected flaws and mistakes independently before moving on to the next task, which is incredibly helpful to do in a classroom environment.

The classroom is custom built on a mezzanine first floor for this programme, to allow for a bit of noise bashing chisels and using saws without disrupting the masonry courses on the ground floor below. The provision of tools as well as the advice and guidance around using them was also brilliant.

I’ve gone from novice to an hour or two spent today planning the right approach to constructing a timber frame, attached to actual joists to support making a bigger aperture for a loft hatch at home.

With credit to Pete and the team, I’d highly recommend this course for beginners, those needing a confidence boost, and construction workers that would like to expand their skill set.

Thank you Pete and the team at CBWA, I’ll certainly be signing up for more courses as the need arises.
