Excellent moving company

We had arranged the move with CBD movers and everything went well. They are so organized and professional. The move also done within reasonable timeframe.

So much damage and no responsibility…

So much damage and no responsibility taken. Insurers paid out but company insists none of the damage was done by them. Hours spent on the phone with management at the time of the damage with the moving guys there. They still claim there is "not enough proof" to cover the paltry $500 excess which is all I'm asking for. Go anywhere else. As you'll see in the response below, more vacuous words and no action. All mouth and no trousers, as we used to say.

Worse movers ever

Worse movers ever. We booked a full house move 2 month in advance of the move date, communication was shockly poor with very poor English spoken. We booked start time for 10am with an end time of 2pm. In none of their emails or calls were we advised that start time was between 10am & 2pm what moving company does that? 1.30pm come and they called to tell us they moved our time to between 4pm and 6pm we refused this told them no get here now and she keep saying no no 4pm to 6pm we canceled on the spot got a trailer and a few mates had it done in 2 hrs we waited hrs for them to stuff us around do not recommend at all.

AVOID THIS COMPANY 0 STARS. We had CBD movers move a few things for us down the road, they arrived at 3.38pm and Left 4.26 pm which is LESS than 1 hour. We were quoted $180 by Olivia, she told us that they need a $60 deposit first, we paid that and sent CBD movers a screenshot of that payment made. When they arrived they were meant to charge my husband $120 which was the remaining amount. The two movers told my husband " we cannot see the deposit paid on our system ($60), pay the $180 (remaining $120 which was to be paid and then an extra $60 again) and our accounts team will refund you the extra $60 charge, but we need to take this extra $60 because its not showing up on our screen that this payment has been made already". My husband told them we had paid the $60 deposit, they kept saying that they need to charge us again for it and that their accounts team will pay it back. My husband paid the $180 plus the extra $60 which was already paid to them via bank transfer which equals to $240 ($60 over charged). After multiple phone calls, after 2 weeks of them promising me that they will make the $60 refund and to "not worry and the amount will be paid back into your account" noting. Still no refund. Olivia promised me that my $60 would be refunded but they are all lying. This company scams, they steal money from customers and then they lie to you promising to fix it and never do. Please avoid this company.

Booked for Friday 10am. No one showed up by 12 called, they said would be 2pm, no one showed up called again at 3pm they said they can't do it today. Absolute waste of time DO NOT BOOK

Booked the service to move a 2-3…

Booked the service to move a 2-3 bedroom place. They showed up 4 hours late AND the truck was not big enough. The other frustrating aspect is that they dropped 2 of my boxes while rearranging their truck. The boxes were sitting at the edge of the truck, and they dropped from up there all the way to the floor causing damage. Both of my boxes BROKEN, not an apology whatsoever. After the move was done, they had to do 2 trips because everything didn't fit on one trip. They dropped my stuff and not even an apology that 'sorry something might be broken please let us know ' NOPE. After me filling a complaint due to their negligence, they stated I should have pointed that out because I was 'supervising', absolutely nonsense! I was busy making sure they'll take all my stuff away, and yes with all the chaos that is moving I forgot at the time until the next day when I saw my items broken while tidying up my place.
I did place a complaint, and CBD movers didn't even offer an apology, they even said "it was my fault" for not checking everything was fine. Seriously?! You want me to check every single box of a 3 bedroom house?! Right there and then?!
Terrible service, NEVER AGAIN.

Worst moving company ever don’t book…

Worst moving company ever don’t book with them they will leave you high and dry. I booked in close to 3 weeks notice for Saturday 28th June and all was good they said you are booked in from 2pm to 6pm spoke to a Matthew or a Mathew. I then called them a week before the move to double check and to explain the driveway at the new house, and they confirmed it was all good to go, then I called again the morning of the move I called to confirm and told them about the driveway again knowing it’s a call centre and notes may be missed from the last caller about the driveway and it maybe a bit hard but they said it was fine again. I was still booked in between 2pm-6pm. Then around 1:40pm on Saturday 28th June on the day of the move I get a call explaining it was canceled. I asked as to why? And the person on the phone by the name of Lucy said they don’t work the weekend and as we were going back and forth she then changed her excuse to say the weather and after that explanation, she then said a worker was injured. I got 3 different reasons. I asked to speak to a manager and I was told he’s busy and then I asked if I can speak to Matthew and she said he would call me back after fuming because I explained we needed to be out on the day and that I couldn’t do Sunday because she offered a Sunday time I kept saying now after she couldn’t help me. She finished the call off with “Is there anything else I can help you with?” I said “Explain what can you help me with if the one thing I needed you for you couldn’t help me with” she said nothing and ended the call. I then got a call from Matthew saying he was sorry blah blah but I said “but what can you help me with I need to be out” he said we can do Sunday I said that’s fine let’s do Sunday. He then said “Sorry we can only do Monday” anyway it got worse I gave up and for CBD movers the person Moana that post she did it for me on the day because my review comments would’ve been banned. I ended calling around and found someone to come and help me and I paid them double for being so kind and helpful. I have call logs of the calls, texts of the messages and emails and my booking number was 6876262. Listen to my recordings if they even exists now and I will be happy to post this message and the screenshot of all communication on you fb page or your website so that others don’t go through this nightmare. Have a great day and let me know if I can help you I’ve still got the number of the mover I used and they were there straight away. Laters 👍

I should have realised when the call back had a SPAM WARNING

I should have realised when the call back came from CBD with a SCAM warning.
This company is a call centre based in India and elsewhere.
When you book they make it apparent that you will have a truck and movers close to your time. THIS IS UNTRUE.
Only after you have given your card details for a deposit and you read the fine print in the confirmation email will you see that you have booked a slot in which you MAY get service.
I waited 2.5 hours and had to call several times to find out what was going on. Always they said will call you back in 5 mins - they never did I had to call them multiple times.
They LIED to me when I asked if they use sub-contractors, they said they employ moving teams. This is UNTRUE.
Eventually - I got a call back from sub-contractor - who had only been contacted 2 hours after my initial booking time.
They arrived in 30 mins and did a fantastic job.
I have no issues with the sub-contracted movers - it is CBD Movers that is the problem.
Go else where as you will likely regret using this scam of a company

Communication was difficult

Communication was difficult. They recommended truck that was way too small. Movers didn't read labels. Needed 2 more people to help and still took a long time. Still can't find my stuff in storage. Would not recommend.

The worst moving service so far in my life!

We have had the most unfortunate experience with the moving company we used last week (CBD Movers Auckland)

I personally was verbally mistreated by their employees while moving my items. We felt so intimidated while asking to move one of the items that we declared to be picked up. They simply refused to take it and told me that it was my mistake as they don’t handle those items without a box and that I better took it in my car with the rest of the stuff they didn’t want to take!
Not saying the amateur service which damaged our precious new flooring and furniture. This option will cost you more at the end. AVOID THEM AT ALL!

In their Ts & Cs - the include a clause that required us to report any damage before the movers actually left the property. Reporting directly to customer services after we had a chance to inspect it wasn’t acceptable to them, and they have washed their hands of any liability.

UPDATE 4/Feb/2026: it only took 4 years and 1 month to get some feedback back from them. Thanks, though.
