Fantastic day. Assessed my current level quickly and then built on those skills through the day. Colin quickly established key learning opportunities and focused on building new capabilities throughout the day. Explained in a very straightforward way the engineering principles behind my car's behaviour - and then allowed me to experience these in a highly effective way on the various handling tracks. Opened up a new world of confidence in the abilities of my car and in my abilities to explore them. Simply, a tremendous day.

I recently completed CAT driver training and took my Porsche GT2 RS along — and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.

A special thank you to Lynne and Steve for their professionalism, patience, and high-level coaching. The instruction was clear, structured, and tailored perfectly to high-performance driving. They don’t just teach you how to drive fast — they teach you how to drive properly, safely, and with precision.

The course content was excellent:
• Advanced car control techniques
• Real-world hazard awareness
• High-speed stability and braking guidance
• Performance driving mindset and discipline

Taking the GT2 RS through the training gave me even greater respect for the car — and more importantly, more confidence and control behind the wheel.

An excellent course with outstanding teaching. Highly recommended for anyone serious about performance driving.

Excellent day with brilliant tuition that opened my eyes on how to drive a car much quicker by being more efficient and operating within the laws of physics.
Money well spent compared to expenditure on performance upgrades to car or repairing damage done due to my innate ignorance & incompetence.
Wish I would have done this course much sooner,saving myself a lot of pain, heart & head ache.

Excellent course tailored to my requirements and experience level. Colin provides a great balance between driving instruction and an explanation of the physics and engineering affecting the performance of the car.

Yet another brilliant driver training day, but this time more specifically designed around Hillclimb & Sprint. Colin was yet again very instructive in both classroom explanation of car handling characteristics and the practical driving instruction.

I completed Track L1 and L2 in my 911 with Steve as coach. It was, quite simply, one of the best experiences of my life. By the end of the second day, I could barely believe it was me driving the car!! Steve was expert, patient, and encouraging - focussing both on technique and (as importantly) on mindset. He’s such a reassuring presence and, even tho we were exploring my limits (and the car’s), I never once felt unsafe or stressed. It was a challenging two days - but in the most rewarding and exhilarating of ways. You will feel tired by the end!

Yes, this is a costly investment, but when you see the quality of the facilities and the depth of knowledge available through the coaches (developed over years of training), you’ll understand why you truly get what you pay for. Cannot recommend highly enough - and hope to come back for more. THANK YOU, STEVE!!!

BTW, top tip - absolutely let the coach drive your car to give you demos. I found this so helpful, and they will treat it with as much respect and care as if they owned it.

From the get go the team were helpful and friendly and helped me navigate to various options available. Steve,my instructor, was welcoming and gave me a through brief of the day. Gave me insights in to aspects that I thought I already knew, but added to my knowledge base. The training met the needs and more that I set out at the beginning of the day. His encouraging manner and guidance were invaluable and helped me to get a real understanding of my vehicles capabilities. When my lad is old enough I will be arranging a visit for him. Simply brilliant.

I returned to CAT driver training to complete days 3 and 4 of their track academy. Colin customised the two days of training based on our goals for the two days. We spent 2 packed days on milbrook’s dynamics pad learning how to control a car at and beyond the limits of grip. The instructor has a brilliant way of explaining how the car reacts to inputs and is able to make complex concepts easy to understand. Brilliant experience. Thanks Colin and Lynne.

Colin's ability to articulate car dynamics and put this in to practice behind the wheel is excellent. He provides a platform of learning during the day, via classroom style discussion and practical examples, that would enhance even the most experienced driver's skill set. The facilities at Millbrook are also first class... Well done CAT!

Fantastic full day of track driver training at Milbrook with Steve. Steve's tuition was excellent allowing me to understand both what's happening with the car and why. His engineering knowledge of the car and putting it into simple terms that allowed me then to convert that into improving my driving was 2nd to none. Although there is a set agenda, Steve adopted it to focus on what I needed to in order to improve and get the most out of it. I will definitely be coming back for level 2.

I’ve just done my second limit handling course with Colin at CAT Driver Training, having done one about 12 years ago in a very different type of performance car.
Colin’s very technical approach suits me perfectly and being able to use the world class facilities at Millbrook proving ground is priceless.
Doing a 2:1 course with a friend who owns the same model of supercar was invaluable and Colin seamlessly adapted his coaching to suit our different levels of experience.
I personally believe that courses of this type should be compulsory for any high performance or supercar owner.

This course was excellent and did not disappoint. I booked the course to be able to find the handling limits of my car in a safe environment and to learn some new driving and handling techniques.

The instructors are calm, friendly and hugely knowledgeable whilst Millbrook is a great venue with a variety of test tracks and areas to learn on. I would thoroughly recommend this course. You may think you're a great driver but you'll almost certainly learn something new and useful on this course.

The only downside was that I discovered my car's ABS was not working (cue likely big garage bill), but better to find out here than when I actually need it.

Thinking I was getting better at driving my Porsche on track days but always feeling there was more from myself and the car, after some searching of driver development courses I came across CAT’s website.
From the initial enquiry through to the booking of the 1st session the whole process was seamless and efficient.
Meeting my coach Steve very quickly evaporated any concerns about what I would be doing as like the best coaches he quickly built up a rapport and allowed me the time and space to establish my goals and expected outcomes for the day.
Adapting his coaching to my own learning style just made the whole process so much more enjoyable and rewarding.
Although learning is a life long experience I felt having completed the course that I took away a lot of confidence in myself and my ability to handle the car that is invaluable to any future development.
If you’ve ever considered developing your own driver skills then don’t hesitate, it’ll be the best money you will ever spend.

Steve was one of the friendliest, knowledgeable and accommodating instructors I have ever met in any field. I learned about driving dynamics in a clear, concise, and well-packaged manner, which made it easy for a novice like me to take my initial steps towards track racing. I would love to attend again.
