Bought a car 10 days ago, having been assured that it was in great condition and having been dissuaded from getting RAC to do an inspection. It only has 30,000 miles.

Engine lights came on this morning when I was driving my two year old in it. Independent mechanic says it has multiple faults and likely caused by an issue with battery.

I have exercised my statutory rights of rejection as I have had the car for less than 30 days. I will take legal action if needed.

Carworld are telling me that the issue with battery is “wear and tear” and falls outside their warranty despite me barely using the car.

I made a huge mistake buying from them. Please ignore the good reviews on here (likely fake?) and please read the other bad experiences similar to mine.

I have been left with a car which I am scared to drive back to their dealership. I cried on the phone to them. They are awful.

I have barely driven the car (I put half a tank of petrol in it when leaving the dealership and it’s not yet used up).

Don’t buy a car from these people. I really wish I hadn’t.

Said it was MOTd. Practically no oil or coolant in, windscreen wipers had to be replaced. Then AA approved garage pointed out it had been in accident. Panels not alligned. Spraying evidence ETC after taking to bodywork specialist. Said manager would call back at least 5x. Nobody called. Sent right to reject and now final letter before court. Still nothing. This dealership should be closed down.

Monika was efficient and pleasant and informed me of all necessary steps all throughout the buying process. A credit to her business.

We had Monika and she was so lovely and bubbly, she was clear about everything that was explained to me. Being someone who's not done this before I felt a lot more at ease and I appreciated the help. Was lovely to sit and have a coffee at the bar and found the waiting more calm and chilled.

Horrible, misinformation and rude

Bought a car back in 2025, first issue was the the car registration..
the dealership said it was bought at auction and the previous company that owned it was enterprise and they did a HPI check that came up clear.

I wasn’t able to get the car found on any sites for insurance and had to put it in manually…

I phoned up car world, they said since it was an ex-mod car it lacked certain information… which was never mentioned at all until I bought the car.

When I phoned car world to explain the manager of the Peterborough one called me a liar, said he mentioned it was MOD, not true and wouldn’t refund the money even though it was within the 14 days they mentioned if I wanted to return.

I also purchased a premium package from car world for warranty..again a set back of £330

The car was running fine for the first few miles then…
Check engine light, faulty DPF sensor and then eventually cracked DPF

Okay from a £13000 car to paying an extra £2,200 for the DPF replaced, air intake hose and sensor.

This was all within 10 days of owning the car and again no, sorry can’t help..

It’s been a massive money trap..
