I bought a running vest from them which claimed it came with two bottles - expensive bottles specific for racing with during ultramarathons. I double checked with customer service twice before I purchased the vest to make sure the bottles indeed came with it - they said yes. The order comes a few weeks later with only the vest, no bottles. Customer service is extremely slow to respond, claims they can't get in touch with "the warehouse" and suggest that I should do it, without ever saying to me what the hell warehouse is, nevermind how to contact them. They then refuse to send the bottles or a partial refund for the bottles. Very dishonest if not downright lying, they will never get my business again.

Bought a couple of Western Mountaineering bags from Campsaver at considerable discount. Very rare to see WM bags on sale, so I jumped at it. Only after completing purchase did I look at online reviews and freaked out at all the "Campsaver is a scam, 0 stars". If I had seen the reviews first, never would have gone fwd with Campsaver. So I called customer service next day to give them a chance b/f canceling my CC transaction. Got a human being right away. A native English speaker from Illinois. He answered all my questions, so I let the purchase ride to see how it turned out. The bags shipped in like 2 days, delivered in 4. Brand new bags, all the tags, no issues at all. Maybe I got lucky, but I can't complain about my experience at all. And I got darn good prices on those bags. I would buy from Campsaver again if the discount was right.

Ordered 2 x batteries, Payment was taken from San Marino which rang alarm bells, Product was shipped from China. , Low Value, Description on the invoice was Ornament, I refused the import, Credit Card company now investigating. Stay away.

Great pricing and good experience. I was hesitant to order based upon poor reviews.Happy to report that I received my fishing waders in just over a week and a half and the price was significantly less than the competitors. Communication on shipping and delivery was timely and accurate. Based upon my experience I will do business with them again

This outfit is a scam and time waster. I ordered an expensive sleeping bag and air pad. After receiving a confirmation email, waiting days, they never bothered to email me that my order was canceled or gave a reason why.

Don't waste your time with these clowns.

Don't ever do business with this criminally dishonest seller! First, I got a defective item from them. When I returned it and asked for a refund, they tried very hard to convince me for an exchange instead. When I finally decided to exchange, they processed a new order of the same item with a MUCH HIGHER price without my consent. Then I understood why they tried to change my mind. This unauthorized transaction was literally a steal. When confronted via emails, they even tried to play stupid!

I wish I could give them 0 star, which is all they deserve. Submitted an order by mistake, then tried everything possible to cancel that order, only to no avail: called them multiple times but nobody answered; wrote them multiple emails and only to be notified, in two days, that my package had been shipped out and there was nothing they could do about it. Such company should not exist, period!

I was quite nervous about purchasing from this seller because of the variation in the reviews. I made two purchases on a 30% off sale from camp savers. The first item was listed as a sale eligible item and it was a simple transaction although minor website issues. A day later I made the second purchase. The shoes I wanted were on sale then I realized not the ones in my size. I went on chat to inquire and was told they were not on sale but the person would see what they could do. They ended up giving me the 30% off on the pair anyway. I thought they went the extra mile for me. I received both pairs in less than 5 days. NO ISSUES

They waited for 5 days to acquire information about the shipping cost of a baby stroller. Afterward, they informed me that the most reasonable price to ship it to a domestic address in the US was $350!!!

After reading the reviews, I was a little hesitant to order from them, but the prices were simply unbeatable. I couldn't find deals like this anywhere else. I ordered, and the products arrived within a week. Plus, I got free shipping. Everything is exactly as described!

I ordered a sterling climbing rope from them (50% off retail price!) and received the shipment three days later. The rope isn’t even old and near end of shelf life - manufactured only 3 months ago. I almost didn’t buy it because of the negative reviews on here, but a friend assured me it’s a legit site so I bought the rope. Great deal, fast shipping - they are way legit 😃

I do not understand the bad reviews for this company. I got an amazing $50 off on 2 separate purchases ( total $100 ) because of their anniversary coupon. First item arrived very fast, a beautiful backpack. When I called with questions regarding shipping I was given accurate info. So pleased, I just ordered a second one. Thank you CampSaver!!

Placed a $188 order for climbing gear ... pennies in this world. Never shipped one of the items despite being continually in stock, according to their website. I waited for a few weeks as it said "processing" due to traveling, and thought maybe it needed to ship from another warehouse. Finally, I chatted with Kelli E. over the website chat, and I told her the situation over the chat and asked for a refund for the item that never shipped she told me it did. I said it wasn't in the box and it was listed on the website as "processing". She then actually looked at the order and said I was right. Then left the chat. No refund made yet. She responded via email a few hours later and says the shipping department said they shipped it ... still no refund. I call and begged to speak with a manager, and the manager (Breanna) still is gaslighting me saying it did in fact ship despite the website saying it is "processing". They are claiming the best they can do is file a claim because they shipped the item thus making me look like I am lying about not getting it. This company sucks and I will never order from them again. FWIW this is over a $16 item. Their customer service attitude was horrible and combative toward me. My initial view was, I don't really need this right now so just cancel it. Also its owned by OpticsPlanet so they are off my list as well. Be horrible and lose a customer.

Briana claimed all of this treating me poorly was part of their process to submit a claim. There is no claim when you never shipped the item and your website verifies this. I guess they are scamming UPS over this or something. Horrible.

Finally got a refund after begging and demanding. It was for 22% less than what I paid. This company is an absolute scam.

I ordered a pair of Hoka hiking shoes on March 20. The item was not on back order when I placed the order. I didn't receive the shoes until May 13! By then I already asked for an RMA and return shipping label and found another site to buy the shoes (at a cheaper price!) since I was leaving on a long trip on May 19. As soon as I received the box from Campsaver I returned it that day. They received the return on May 17 (per UPS tracking). Campsaver's return policy is that they will issue a refund within 10 business days. 10 business days from May 17 is May 31. It is now June 6 and I still haven't received a refund. On chat with their customer service, they tell me that I will receive my refund within another 2 weeks. They had my money on March 20, and now I won't receive my refund until June 20 - so they had my money for 3 solid months. Absolutely horrendous experience.

Sent me the wrong helmet. After I returned it, they refused to issue me a credit.

Campsaver? How bout time waster! I took Campsaver.Com's invoice at face value after placing the order, it stated that shipping was FREE. But they came back saying it was a mistake and wanted me to pay $225 for shipping? Definitely not paying that, after the original invoice I have posted here stated the shipping was free. Spoke to upper management and they didn't really didn't want to honor their original invoice price either. They need to post shipping charges from the get go, instead of springing unwanted surprises on customers wasting everyone's time

So a couple weeks ago I was on the market for a Mystery Ranch Terraframe 65 Backpack. It usually retails for $450-$500. I was looking for a sale on Google and I stumbled upon Campsaver that was selling it for $249. I could not believe my eyes so I immediately ordered because there were 2 left in stock. I chose the free shipping (I believe it said 5-10 business days) and then I waited. I ordered on a Friday, so the order was stuck processing for 3 days. During this time I went on all the review websites and started reading the reviews and I got terrified that my money is gone and I will probably never get the package. Come Sunday and I recieve a notice that they were busy at campsaver and they will be a little late. I got even more anxious. Monday morning though, I received an email that the label was created at UPS. 4 days later I was wearing the backpack that came in perfect condition! I think I got an AWESOME deal and the package actually arrived early, so I wanted to write a positive review because they are getting a lot of negative reviews here. I am a happy customer and I will order from them again!

This company is shady. Had a backorder mysteriously cancelled after two months -unavailable. Purchased the same piece of gear he next day (had to pay more). Now I'm waiting on another order because they are "busy". Waiting for the cancellation... Shop elsewhere

I’ve NEVER had a significant problem with any order from Campsaver.com and I’ve bought a ton of backpacking gear from them. I’ve also done returns to them without issue. I recently got an awesome Rab down jacket from Campsaver for 40% off list price. That was 20% more off than ANY other competitor.

I actually came here & to BBB before I finalized my order and saw the negative reviews. I checked here because they did a weird security check on my cc that I had never dealt with before. The security check was just like a bank's ach verification (where they do two micro deposits). It made me nervous because that is how one usually verifies oneself* when liking bank accounts to be able to make transfers. (*Austin Powers moment? :). So, i called my cc company, and she said that it's not common, but it is safe. So, i let the transaction go thru. Campsaver gave an additional 5% off (an already good price) for going thru this trouble.

I had a good experience. When i dealt with the customer service one phone or chat it was very professional with pleasant people. My product arrived quickly and as described (after all of the verifications). The charges that went from pending to transacted were exactly what the support staff said they'd be. I felt like they needed a bit of positive feedback since that was my experience with them, they deserved it. I'll buy from them again. (or ... (nervous) lol, i find out later they took my house, and i'll need a lot of camping supplies, that i'll be buying elsewhere :p .. if i have wifi, i'll update my review)
