Disappointing Experience with Leadership and Accountability

Worst company to work, don’t care about the employees and believe more in external people. Is unbelievable, camden doesn’t care.

What stands out most is the lack of accountability and communication from leadership. The company promotes values like integrity and transparency, but my personal experience did not reflect those principles at all.

If you’re considering working here, understand that when challenges arise, support can be limited, and you may find yourself exposed to decisions based more on optics than facts.

Very unfortunate outcome with a company that claims to put people first.

Disappointing /inconvenience experience

I’ve lived here 11 months and are currently moving into a townhouse for 13 months …I paid my the rent due on the townhouse on the 28th of June and turned in all transfer documents,but to my surprise today July 11…I was told I won’t have access to the apt.till 9:30am …they open at 9:00am,but was told first appointment is at 9:30am..just to get a garage door control,because keys aren’t used here it’s chirp access app.so why don’t they activate my chirp so I can have access to something that was paid already…I’m thinking midnight activate the chirp to my new place,but no I was told !!!..disappointing service ,didn’t even try to work something out my movers charge me by hour… My fee starts 8:39am at $130..so because of this inconvenience I have to pay extra …nope not going to renew …new apt homes should be completed my spring 2025 perfect timing !! Plan b if my house is not purchased before then!Camden you need to work with the tenants moving in or out!! Expensive to live here with break ins in mailboxes stolen packages … front gate consistently not working properly most staff not polite or friendly!! What a disappointment this place is becoming!!! Richard J campo you must of forgot about the reason you are the founder… it’s called caring about others !! Sorry to say I know there won’t be any changes…that’s the saddest part….so think not once or twice…look elsewhere before you too regret it! I will be recording my townhouse and my apt after I move ,because this company is rumored to keeping deposits and overcharging .. ohh and if you don’t have a fan installed already it’s a fee of 160 with installation….EACH fan! My excitement turned into anxiety,because not all the apts are modern looking some have the old looking sinks with old model tacky light fixtures ..3,400 just in rent you would think it was an updated modern home ,but NO!!!Also ..cleaner hallways/stairs ..here’s a free suggestion…it’s called pressure washing the complex once in a while! Retraining in costumer service … polite ,smile ,greet, consistently the same treatment everyday !! BE consisted …it Varys here day by day I noticed ..sometimes it feels fake smiles & Ive seen it cocky voice tones!!Show in writing the only hours to move in or out of the dwelling!!! A pricing list on the move out fees on damages..break down the carpet washing or damaged fee,each blind fee,holes on walls ,all those etc fees ,so we know how you got the fees and it doesn’t feel sneaky or taking advantage of!! People work hard to live here and pay the high rent …you never know one day you might be in our shoes renting ..be humble before the world humbles you ! Try working on listening to the tenants and appreciate them like you would your family !!!

Senior resident disgust

Senior resident, 89. Resident for over 7 years, Personal friend of the original builder, Chuck Stevenson. Sold home to move into the Camden Denver West in 2017.
Overall the management and service have been excellent, except this year! I put in a maintenance request over a year ago! The patio is falling apart, siding is rotting. This is a two-hour fix for less than $100. Countless requests, one visit to tear out the entire patio (make work project) Mature foliage cut down needlessly, with an apology. Dirt patches and brown lawn, overall the place is in decline, and I am embarrassed to have guests on my patio! I seem to be resigned to fixing this myself and sending Houston the bill!

Camden Council repair

I explained, I Disabled and I can`t use other toilets only my toilet, but no water and toilet not working, but they ignored and said from phone ( Camden repair phone line ) When I rang again he said ""Its gonna be cost you money if you call one more time"" Its what he said. I use toilet and when care come one time per day he start clean toilet from my sh----t. London 2023 but in Camden council 15 centure, I can`t belive. So, I will call back on Monday morning, but im sure they will ignore all situation and make appontment after 2-4 weeks. I used Very rude people on phone line, never listen people, cut off if they doesn`t want talking, never understand situation, they ignored any complain, very poor service.

Disgusting camden council.

Disgusting camden council.. I needed a emergency repair for my leaking radiators.. they didn't put the emergency in for 2 days.. my kids was walking around on a wet floor my wood flooring is fukd.. 2 weeks with no heating because camden say it takes 2 weeks for a radiator to be ordered but they have previously fixed these same radiators 3 times before this incident so the measurements of the radiators are on the system.. 2 disabled kids under 5 and no heating for weeks on end damaged flooring and wet and cold.. totally unacceptable Fing disgusting way to treat people my kids are freezing cold .. they sent an engineer round to CAP the old radiators .. he needed help lifting the radiators .. so they aren't even employing people who are able to do the job that needs to be done no way should I have to help him remove heavy object from the flat I'm disabled.. DISGUSTING way to treat people .. and all the engineer done was get in my face and smirk while he recorded me breaking down about how unacceptable it was to be treated this way.. but I bet his kids aren't freezing Fing cold and walking around in soaking wet floors.. CAMDEN COUNCIL NEEDS A OVERHAUL.. THEY HAVE TOO MANY PEOPLE WOTKING THERE WHO DONT CARE ABOUT THE RESIDENTS THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE KIDS .. THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME THE RADIATORS BREAK MONTHLY AND CAMDEN COUNCIL ACCEPT IT IS THERE FAULT BEAUSE THE PIPES ON THE ESTATE ARE SO OLD AND FULL OF SH!T THAT ITS CAUSING BLOCKAGES IN THE RADIATORS AND ITS MY KIDS THAT PAY FOR IT IN THE END BY BEING COLD AND GETTING SICK

Camden is all about profit

Camden is all about profit. And I do not have a problem with profit. The problem is they don’t enforce rules. Weed and cigarette smoking are rampant. Leaking bags of garbage in the hallways. Packages that are stolen. Employees who aren’t paid a living wage and have no decision making. They only care about their stockholders. Extremely high rents and do not care about their residents in the least.

Beware of renting from Camden, (Main & Jamboree, in Irvine, CA)

Camden Main & Jamboree, in Irvine, CA.

The absolute worst and most upsetting place I have ever experienced renting from. They view you as a profit to be made. So many disturbing and inappropriate things take place here. If you read all of the comments, you will hear similar complaints about health & safety concerns/issues/violations, corporate greed, and repeatedly how this company attempts to take advantage of and extort it’s tenants. The management is extremely dismissive of important issues that affect our health and safety.

The air quality is the very bad, dust settles daily from the vents, even if the filter is replaced. I have to vacuum daily and the same dusty white residue fills the air and my vacuum bag almost immediately. The fire alarms go off falsely all hours of the day and night repeatedly. This morning it went off at 6am. Sometimes the alarm goes off throughout the entire property for extremely long durations of time, sometimes 11pm at night and even at 4am. The entire facility is covered in feces and urine, right outside the doors and all over the parking structure. People actually walk their dogs to the parking structure to have them secrete their wastes there everyday.

I have never lived in a place so ghetto and unsanitary, nor have I ever paid so much for such bad and inappropriate living conditions. I’ve never paid this much rent ever, and they will always increase your rent any opportunity that they can, so just be prepared for it to always increase exponentially every year-even if the quality is very poor. I’ve never written a review for a place I lived in that was bad or negative, but I felt the sincere need to warn people. I wish I had done further research. It seems so wonderful in the beginning and once you sign it’s all downhill and over and you will be charged a lot of unnecessary money any opportunity they have to charge you.

Final bill and payments

They added extra fines to my final bill and when attempting to contact them I was only given a phone number that went straight to voicemail, no call back. They send you to collections if you don't pay and they don't talk to you about the final bill.

Camden Crest Apartments and Camden Property Trust

Per our conversation yesterday. It seems that you all are not aware of the full situation with HouseWake and my situation. This has been an on going problem with the company Camden Properties. It is hard for me to believe that only one person in the whole entire company. Shaun Lambert can read, account, audit and do basic math. Until he step in this situation was an entire mess. To the point me and my family were harassed and bullied out of our home. Even with contracts in place with a government agency. Shaun stepped in an followed up made calls. Stop by HouseWake to attempt to get this situation resolved. Now that he is on vacation. It is hard for me to believe that the remainder of the company. Including billing doesn’t have basic accounting skills. A ledger was sent to me yesterday without anyone even attempting to look at it. Or do their job. As of 11am 6/23/2022. Someone needs to go through the ledger well. To get the number correct. I spoke with Shaun several times prior to his vacation to get the refund amount. Which has provided and 250.00 is completely off. I moved out 04/08/2022. And the fact that this one person has to run 3 to 4 properties. And can still keep it together to get this resolved. I should not have to wait months for one person to fix this problem. In a entire million dollar company. My family has been retaliated against, bullied, medical right have been violated and etc. . By the employees and corporate employees with Camden Properties. Today is my very last attempt to try to resolve this matter. All party have access to all government contacts and any documentation on this matter. Reading is fundamental let’s try to do some. Without Shaun being the only one that can handle this matter. This company is a disgrace, most certainly over charges for cheaply made properties and TERRIBLE SERVICE! Disrespectful office staff. Corporate doesn’t think the employees should be terminated for violating Federal HIPPA laws. And continue to let them represent the company. Some needs to call me by 11am 6/23/2022. Let’s try to do some real work today on this situation. This well also be my yelp and google review!

Camden charges for community maintenance

I moved to this community may be approx 1.5 years back. Everything was good initially. Renewal time and i get the shock. 17% increase in rent. Technology package rate increased and it is mandatory. Not optional. Now comes the worst. They want to charge me for the community and amenities maintenance. When question, the answer was to point their buidlings so that the community can look better. Seriously?? You want to charge me for your community maintenance? I think i am paying the rent already and you charge that huge rent by advertising all the amenities.

Camden Legacy Arizona - terrible place to live now

Camden has lost its 5 star rating and they have a lot to do to get this back
This review is detailed and YES i have a choice to move and yes i have now left, but this is not is my way of being constructive and honest to help anyone looking to move to Camden Legacy and understand what its like now after 6 years of living here with past EPIC and amazing teams and managers
Lets begin ;

When I first moved here 6 years ago Camden Legacy was a vibrant fun place to live, the office team were amazing - the special "residents appreciation days" were so much fun, even doggy days was held, pool BBQ by the epic boys and more.

The Boys
The maintenance crew to date are the best ever and do Camden Proud, especially Jeff, Jake and Adam at the time. It's these guys that keep the place held together like glue, they truly care for you, no job is to small and always with a smile : these are the "real" representatives of Camden and you will love them all for sure.....not the office

BUT they have all left since the new manager arrived - makes you think - 4 in less than 3 months plus 1 member of staff, now thats 5 star management

Managers
Past managers knew what it meant to cater for the residents needs - if you get a chance visit the other complexes first and meet Trace at Monterrey, Allison at San Palermo, Robbie at Camden Sotello who are simply EPIC when it comes to "caring for the community" - see the difference it's outstanding

Since COVID hit everything has changed, no vibrancy in the community, no more care for residents (only when you sign the lease), constant complaints and even Scottsdale police have to visit the complex almost nightly - in a 3 month period there were domestic violence calls made, noise complaints and excessive constant loud dog barking, cars smashed burglary, home burglary, pool areas smashed glass and furniture trashed to name but a few

NOW - the high charges over 35% increase for the full upgrade ?
Be sure to ask to view every aspect of your apt. The upgrades are NOT fully done, check the cupboards in the kitchen, the bath and shower areas and take pictures. It's well known that the upgrades are very poorly done compared to other complexes around Scottsdale who are literally replacing everything. This is NOT a full upgrade, Camden Legacy did not have enough funds to complete a full and 5 star fitting upgrade but they are still happy to charge you more than other quality complexes around Scottsdale who actually did full upgrades.

this place has turned into a 1 star complex in less than a year by the new manager and the lack of care for the community and their safety - question is why are so many people leaving from residents to staff ?

you 100% do not get what you used to get from Camden Legacy - so be warned if you go on one of their sugar coated tours

The gym is a hot bed for virus spreading
The grounds are not kept well
The chirp access app is a joke
gated community only when the gates work
the list is endless but you can see from past reviews that while you sit and read just remember that this is meant to be the "Camden Experience" 5 star luxury living that puts them above the rest - just remember that

Lost our jobs at Disney during covid

Lost our jobs at Disney during covid. We were threatened into renewing our lease by Andre (who is a scam artist). We always paid rent early, but after having to leave during the covid housing stay we offered a month and a half of rent to break the lease to corporate in a cashiers check. They declined it and turned us into a collection agency. We vacated two months early and left the place spotless and have pictures to prove this. So we left the place early,, no eviction, cleaned it, and offered half the difference of the total remaining during a housing stay.. This happened when they were "helping" people behind on rent. We had a neighbor below us who nearly beat our door in and we have pictures of this, but they didn't move us or them. Worst company ever. Never rent here unless you enjoy criminals opening your wallet like the Mafia and performing extortion on you. They also lowered their Disney discount over our stay. Greedy, terrible, terrible, stinky landlords.

I truly appreciate the care of all of…

I truly appreciate the care of all of the staff. Especially, the building Manager Michelle, the support team, Mickey and Syidah (Sorry) and the account manager, I dont remember her name. The front staff has been amazing (Teddy, Duncan, Edit, the overnight guy, and the lady on the other side that always says hi, even the new staff). I mean yes the neighbor is changing but to come from NYC in 2018 and land in this home until we bought our home made it worth all the time spent.

Horrible customer service from Ashley

My Girlfriend suggested we visit this location since it seemed as a good location and good price point for us. I just got a job in this area and the company that hired me asked me to move ASAP. We made an appointment with Ashley. We arrived 7 minutes late but we called since there was an accident. So we got there at 4:07pm instead of 4pm. “Ashley” saw us come in and did not acknowledge and had the worst initial interaction. She said “are you marie”, i sent you an app for the self guided tour. Marie (gf) replied “i was driving so i was not able to read it”. Marie asked for a guided tour and Ashley asked if we wanted to see the amenities “yes or no”. Keep in mind that i was not acknowledged or greeted at all but little does she know, the apartment was for me. There was no greeting, initial discovery, pleasant behavior, etc. All part of the basic selling skills to build rapport. I politely got up and left. If this is the initial interaction, how do you think my tenant request’s will be handled. Definitely not a terrible location but a terrible employee (Ashley) with awful customer service. Avoid the bad experience and find another place. There are plenty of locations to live and love in this area.

Camden Buckhead is not a good place to live!!!

If you are looking to rent here at Camden Buckhead, DON'T DO IT!!!!! You will be upset and disappointed!! The security proceuders are not set up! The active construction site is horrible. I can open my blinds and see construction workers walking on the patio balcony's looking directly into my apartment! I can see construction worker urnateing right next to the dog park!!!! I have addressed this to the Excutive Team, Regional Team and the Coummunity Managers, and they all give me the same response and that is that they could care less about me and my family. Please take it from me if you are looking to rent a apratment here you will be wasting your money!!!

I live at Camden Whispering Oaks in…

I live at Camden Whispering Oaks in Houston Texas. When I first moved in about four years ago it was a good place to live. I like the unit I live in. Crime was there but at a low. But the last couple of years things have started going down hill. First of all, What's up with the Smoking Free community? I'd say about 60% of the people smoke there. Always has been that way. So that's a falsehood. Most of the new residents that move in start breaking rules day one. I had a new neighbors move in about a month , I open my door to put my trash out and they are smoking weed. When I report it to the office they pretty much give them a slap on the wrist " Bad Resident, Bad Resident" Then two days ago, Same thing. Another Resident threatened another with violence on the community board . What does Management do, erase the comment, and tell everyone they took care of it. You try to work your way up the Camden Management, But no one calls you back. They new residents throw trash every where. Management doesn't care. Non of them live there.

They find excuses to evict you -Such shameful and disgusting tactics to harass residents and extort money from them

We rented a 2 Bedroom apartment at Camden Asbury Village in 2019. We knew that the community was a No Smoking community when we rented, since neither myself nor my husband smoked. We have a child who is now 5.5 years old and we desperately missed a play area for children, and had almost made up our mind to move out next year, when COVID-19 became rampant. This forced us to renew our lease. And the physical, emotional and financial stress associated with COVID, did not spare us too. My husband started smoking. However since we were bound by the clauses on the lease, he would always smoke outside the community. Our Apartment is right next to the community entrance, so he would just need to walk a few steps to get out of the community area to smoke. We received an email on 05/03/2021 that we were in violation of our lease agreement since my husband had been observed to be smoking within the community (the parking lot). Exactly 4 days later, on 05/07/2021, we received what was the "Final Notice of Lease Violation" with the same reason. This time my husband questioned them asking for details since he was specifically stepping outside the community to smoke since the first email came. The answer from the lease office was a vague - "one of our members from the maintenance team saw". Now on 06/03/2021 we are emailed out an eviction notice with a couple of pictures attached. The pictures just show my husband smoking, but in no way show that my husband is within Camden Property. Additionally the pictures were taken from behind, and with the photographer hiding around a corner. They were clicked and shared without my husbands consent thereby breaching his privacy. There are no dates on the pictures, which could have been taken at any time and not necessarily after the notices were sent to us. Most importantly the eviction notice was written to sound like a favor - as if we could have been thrown out immediately, but are being granted a favor and hence being given 30 days time to leave. The leasing office knew that their claims would be tough to prove in court and hence they threatened us in writing that "we shall remain liable for any and all compensatory damages including but not limited to rent for the entire time you remain in possession of the Premises and until the Premises is re-rented; costs associated with re-renting the Premises; any damages to the Premises beyond normal wear and tear; court costs, and reasonable attorney’s fees". We have had a clear rental history till date and are being harassed like this for the first time.
