It seems the lies continue, this door that was in stock, but delivery was delayed due to them finding it was damaged!!! The delivery finally arrived, it took 3 weeks, rather than the 2-3 days it was supposed to.
Was it delivered by BuildWorld I hear you ask, or a delivery company on their behalf?
No, of course not, it was never in stock, it was delivered directly from the factory by the manufacturer. The conclusion is that rather than using Buildworld you are far better of avoiding them and their constant lies...

Extremely disappointed with this company. Ordered an oak door to complete a garage conversion. Order was confirmed money was taken from my account. Expecting delivery tomorrow (8/4/26) everything seemed to be going to plan. Then bang received a email to say they couldn’t fulfil the order as the door is out of stock. Even though it was in stock when it was ordered and is still showing in stock online today. This has left me scrambling around trying to source a replacement to allow the door to be fitted this week. Definitely won’t be buying from this company again.

I ordered internal doors. Email responses were less automated than some sites and didn't get despatched, out for delivery etc on all items, but they turned up on time and I got prompt responses when I emailed. Saved money as opposed to other sites and received a refund for the one door not in stock.

Great support, exactly as ordered and delivered perfectly as predicted. Price was way more value than other suppliers for exactly the same door.

Very pleased with quality of doors and the service received

This is a company where if it goes right it goes ok.... but if it goes wrong, you're in a world of pain.

I had received what I had ordered, but builder had got the measurements wrong, needed 27" doors instead of 30".

The policy BuildWorld have is for any return 40% restocking fee, they will not arrange collection and there's a surcharge of £142.00. Day light robbery. They don't accept exchange. I will have to put a new order in for them and therefore pay the 40% fee. They will only keep the doors to resell later.

I wanted to exchange but now just seems I'm going to hold on to these doors / sell them on Ebay or Facebook and never recommend this company.

Edit: I recieved passive aggressive communication from Mansoor at buildworld..... as a result of this review. Kind of them?

Mansoor went on to describe the obnoxious policy in place, the steps up to the point of delivery (as if I was not involved) and the fees the company would incur... forgive me, im not feeling very sympathetic.

Just another example of poor customer service.

I would also like to add the disregard this company has for their delivery driver. Poor man was on his own having to handle multiple heavy doors, glazed and fire door rated. If you dont know these doors are really heavy and should really be 2 people handling this.

I helped the driver because I saw him struggling, but it should not be assumed Buildworld takes advantage of the kindness of their customers. Expect to take your own delivery if you order from here or witness a driver struggle to carry your delivery into your house.

Quick delivery! Good quality and price

I bought 4 doors for a set of cupboards. The quality was excellent and my client was very impressed with them. My only criticism was the website said delivery was £50 but then when you went to pay it was £68

We ordered a door over 1 month ago. Still not arrived. Think their suppliers didn’t have stock but this info was not available when we ordered. Not much feedback but lots of requests to rate them.

Don’t purchase from this company if you want to be ripped off when it comes to swapping doors over

Kept me informed of when the item would arrive. Came on time,

I had contacted customer service and one of the supporters called Muzammil provided exceptional and extremely helpful service, great customer care!

Had a bi-folding door for a difficult to use Bathroom, guess what? There was a gap in the middle when closed about just under a cm thick. So you could peek through, couldn't even get a refund as I'd have to pay the cost of purchase for its return. Now stuck with a door I can't use. Huge disappointment will avoid in future.

I have given this company 5 stars due to the fantastic customer service received from Muzammil. Unfortunately we had issues with our order and this was due to their supplier and not Buildworld directly Muzammil always responded to my emails promptly. He was consistently helpful, polite and proactive in getting the problem resolved. So refreshing in a time when customer service is all but non existent in some companies! A real asset to Buildworld 😊

I purchased a new LPD front door from Buildworld, after I had done some due diligence re LPD and their products looked to be very well made quality items, from a company with over 40 years of trading behind them.

My preferred front door selection was listed as in stock on Buildworld's website and at a competitive price, when compared to other suppliers I had looked at. My order arrived, well packaged, no damage, within x6 days - and am very impressed with the build quality of the door. The courier was super friendly and helpful.

The reason for dropping one star - I had also ordered a door weather board, that arrived within x3 days. Sadly, one end of it was splintered off, 5" long. Thankfully, as I had ordered a L size, I was able to glue this back together and the cut I need to make was just one inch into the join. Now all painted and looks great.

The reason this was splintered was because it was just wrapped in a cellophane see through bag, with my address label on. No protection at all to being man handled during transit to its final destination.

I now know that this was supplied by XL Joinery - now owned by the Buy It Direct Group - whose most known brands include Appliances Direct & Laptops Direct. Will find their website and give less stars!.

My own experience has been overall very good and would buy from them again in the future.

Placed an order on 25th Nov. They emailed me to tell me that the item that was marked on their website as "in stock" was actually discontinued and they suggested I purchase something else at twice the price (thanks but no thanks). They sent this email from an unreplyable address so I have been unable to tell them where to stick their "helpful suggestion" and request my £150 be returned. So I turned to PayPal and opened a case for a refund there - pretty open and shut, they've supplied nothing. But they can't even be arsed to respond to a PayPal case, so I am now going to have to wait until next year before the case times out and I can get PayPal to properly intervene. How can a company legally take money for goods they never had and make no effort to return the goods. It's theft, pure and simple.

The worst supplier you can imagine. I ordered three Victorian unfinished oak doors in different sizes. They sent whatever they had in stock, without any verification. Two doors were unfinished but with different designs — one with raised mouldings and one standard. The third door was pre-finished. After filing a complaint and waiting about a week, they sent the same mismatched doors again. I couldn’t wait any longer and had to install what I had, so instead of matching doors I now have three different designs and finishes. Never again.
