Beware of this company!! They are unethical!!

I spoke with Lucas, who falsely claimed that they were a legitimate moving company, stating all their trucks had logos and that they take photos and inventory of items. After discussing everything with him, I paid the deposit and finalized an agreement to pay the remaining balance upon delivery.

On the day of pickup, the movers arrived four hours late in a $19.95 U-Haul truck. They gave me an excuse that their truck broke down, and they had to rent the U-Haul to complete the move. When I asked for their company name, they said it was Star Light Moving. They couldn’t take all of my belongings because the truck was too small and promised to return the next day to pick up the rest. However, I repeatedly called Bright Star, but no one answered, and the movers never came back.

I was forced to give away my $1,400 couch, leave my remote control bed base in the apartment, and throw away other items. The movers still have my king-size mattress, three flat-screen TVs, four poles to my canopy bed frame, and 20 boxes filled with kitchen items, clothes, and sentimental belongings.

Afterward, they began calling me to increase the price beyond the original agreement, also demanding half the money upfront, contrary to the initial deal of full payment upon delivery. Another company even contacted me asking for payment. After I disputed the deposit, Bright Star resumed calling me.

I’ve seen multiple reviews of others experiencing similar situations. I refuse to pay any more money until I have my items in my possession, fearing that, like others, I will pay and never see my things again. I have filed a police report and will be pursuing legal action.

They deserve a negative. If you choose to use them, beware!- this is a broker! Hundreds of your dollars will go for NOTHING - unfortunately, they do not tell you who they really are or how they operate. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - FIND A RELIABLE DIRECT MOVING COMPANY OR DO IT YOURSELF! The 5 star reviews are so fake - do not make the same mistake a lot of us did. Your items even in brand new boxes will come broken and missing as they subcontract and then those companies subcontract. Use a solid, reliable moving company. Not a broker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cancelled my move within 24 hrs after finding out they are a carrier and broker, even though the sales person was adamant only a carrier. Found multiple reviews after the fact supporting brokers showing up and confirmed that they are both on Dept of Tran site they provided.
Confirmed reimbursement was in process and waited the 30 day period, no problem as I agreed to their cancellation policy when I put down a deposit. Well 30 days pass and each time I contact them they state it’s with Finance. The last time I called, which was the 4th inquiry call, they guaranteed me I would be contacted within 72 Hrs. Again patiently waited, 72+ hours pass still no response. Another call and they stated they would raise to finance again. I asked to speak to a manager and was told unavailable, did asked for a callback once available, but not holding my breath. Now I will be moving onto daily calls and social media to get the word out along with contacting a lawyer. BEWARE!! Not good business practices all around. Support good local carries…this one should not even be a consideration.

This company is horrible. Please do not hire them. We hired them for a long distance move and having moved across country before I was excited to work with them. However, they use companies that will gouge you for additional money threatening to not move your things. The quote is a joke and our final costs came to double the original quote. When our items were delivered they were all over the truck because were not strapped down. The company has no accountability and stopped answering or calling us back when we wanted all our documentation so we could file a claim. This company should be shut down! Please do not use them, you will be sorry in the long run.

all other one star reviews barley cover the level of deceit, blatantly illegal activity and destructive behavior of this company and the disgusting people they hire to move your stuff. they refuse to deliver to a house will drop on curb and tell you to rent your own u hall if you want to move it in the driveway. they have no cdl licenses to drive trucks they operate. they took over a month to get items to delivery location. unless your booking a “fake“
move to catch them in the act and actually bring criminal charges against these people for damage much of which appears intentional not just careless don’t bother. anything valuable will be stolen anyway. Hopefully the unlicensed driver crashes into a school bus and can go to prison like they deserve!

This is not a moving a company. This is a broker that hires or contracts out to subpar, at best, moving companies in the area that you are moving from. As many of the other reviews have stated, they do not arrive on time and definitely do not arrive on the day of schedule. There is always an additional fee other than what was quoted. Furniture is not stored with furniture coverings and pads as advertised and will sustain damage. They promise three-day delivery and it is 3 weeks. You call for updates, no one knows anything and stop taking your calls. Their practices are misleading and a scam. They are not BBB certified. Additionally, the good reviews that can be found on the internet are fake. They are from the same IP address, again LIES. And of course, there is no refund for the heartache they put you through. If you want to pursue legal action you have to go to Florida to make a case. BEWARE!!!!

Simply everything. They didn't show the first time scheduled. Finally got rescheduled. After a call from them saying I needed to pay more. I paid the $463.00 more. They arrive 3 hours late. They had a new contract to sign doubling their price yet again. The truck was not a moving truck but a box truck. No advertising loaded with another customers items
taking up 3/4 of the truck. They wanted to take 1/2 my load, deliver the 3/4 full items. Touching my items 3 times. I said no thank you.

I had a positive experience with Brite Star Moving & Storage. The staff was friendly and organized, and my items arrive at my new place without any issues.

Moving with Brite Moving & Storage was straightforward and hassle-free. The team was professional and efficient, making the entire process less stressful.

Another shady broker company. Got a relatively cheap rate to move my stuff for one bedroom from California to the east coast. But I absolutely do not like being lied to and taken for a fool. Chris from Des Moines was my point of contact for this so called Brightstar Moving Company. Seemed like a nice guy at first, but could hear right through his sleazy salesman fake nice guy tone pretty quickly. He claimed and reassured me that Brightstar was a certified carrier company, as well as there being no hidden long carry fees that came at the last minute. Chris from Des Moines is a LIAR and a slimy sales man and i only went with this company because it was cheap and i was in a pinch.

Lo and behold, the moving day came and like with all these shady movers, the guy running the show that day was a foreigner who could barely speak English. Some guy from eastern European background who almost seemed like they planted him there to intentionally be confusing and unintelligible when discussing the billing and contract of my move that day.

Without delay they immediately charge me for long carry and then claim that if I tip them well they will waive the fee. It took me several minutes for me to understand what this guy was trying to tell me. We got into it for a bit because I thought he was trying to say he expected a tip after charging me $400 extra for long carry. When he was trying to tell me they would waive the fee if I tipped them well. They also came well past the time frame the lady on the phone gave us that day and we wasted hours waiting around for them to even give us a phone call as to when they’d be there.

Really shady and dirty business practices to the say the least. Eventually i tip them $150 which they weren’t overly happy about but i guess it was still something. The one mover guy that did speak English was a decent guy but the older Eastern European guy was totally unprofessional and shady.

Brightstar is not a real moving company. Just another broker company that employees sleazy slime bag salesmen who are dirty and desperate enough to lie to you to make their sales. Don’t recommend to with a real moving company even if it is more money.

Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Within minutes Carlene called and went on and on about how they were a family run business, she’s worked for them for 18 years and willing to offer me a free estimate. I explained I could only guess on what I had to move, very little furniture, mostly boxes and gave my best guess. She provided a great quote $1320, but, I had to confirm today. I asked what if I had a few more items, she told me not to worry I had 300 cubic feet and based on what I told her there would be plenty of room to add more items. By the way, the movers are brokers and don’t work for this company.
A couple of days prior to the move I received a call from Dannie to reconfirm our items, my 2 twin beds with mattresses turned into 2 box springs, 2 bed frames 2 bed footboards, 2 bed headboards and 2 mattresses. They really get caught up in the number of pieces which I didn’t understand. My 2 dressers were now 3 because one had a mirror. I did add 20 small boxes, 1 gaming chair, 8 tote bags, a puppet house and barbie house. Dannie said she was going to have to re-do the quote, because I went from 35 pieces to 71, I asked why it mattered that I was told I had 300 cubic feet and Carlene told me there was still room on the truck. I also asked why Carlene listed items such as the beds as 2 pieces and now that number has grown to 10. My quote doubled and now they were charging me $2545.22, this increased the cubic feet to 531. I should have canceled at this point, but I was going to lose my deposit.
When the movers arrived they packed all the smaller stuff in the truck, it looked to be about 6ft, by 5ft, nowhere near the 531 cubic feet. The movers said they reached 71 pieces, and it was based on whatever came first the number of pieces or cubic feet. They wouldn’t take the beds and dressers. They told us it would be an additional $2400.00, I forgot to mention they demanded we had to pay half the balance before they filled the truck and the remaining balance when they delivered our belongings. So at this point we are already out $1800.00. We told them they weren’t getting any more money, they dropped the price to $1400. We told them to deliver what they had.
We were told the movers would give us a delivery date, they said someone would call, on the way out they hit and damaged a tree. I called Bright Star immediately, they told me once they delivered my belongings they would review the phone calls and case with management and would refund if needed. I called every day for a delivery date, no one at Bright Star could help me, I swear the extensions and numbers changed every day. I finally received a call 11 days after pick-up that they would be at my house in four hours. Who operates like this. I’ve been calling Bright Star every day since, I’ve been disconnected and transferred to lines that just ring and no one picks up. This company lied repeatedly to us, they claim to be professional, far from it, they are scammers. We were victims of theft.

If there was an option for negative rating, I would have picked that. They picked up my items a day late, they promised 7-9days delivery, 21 days later, there’s no update and no delivery. They were very quick to collect an upfront payment to hold the booking, afterwards, customer service has been unreachable, they keep passing me from line to line with no concrete feedback. If you want to move cross country, stay away from Bright Star Moving and its affiliates.

Hired Bright Star Moving for a move from GA to NJ $1440.50. Pickup day arrived a hour late. Parked in front of Extra Space Storage, got on elevator, walked about 25-30 feet. Put my boxes inside their box to charge me for supplies of $300 then charged me a Long Haul Fee of $300. I cussed, hollered and screamed and said that I was not paying any additional money. Mover said wrapping was not in my contract and it was. These people are liars. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

This companies goes by many names including Broght star and brute star. These good reviews are a scam on here just like them. 3 weeks to deliver when promised 3 days. Damaged and or destroyed many things including my mattresses. Charged double what quoted when no extra space was used. They use 365 moving on Texas as a contract and they are scams as well. Rude and belligerent workers Stay far away both these companies should be shut down

Choosing their services was a fantastic decision. They responded promptly and worked cooperatively throughout the move. I value their efficient communication skills. I'll definitely be a repeat customer.

The care they took with my belonging was commendable. Each items was secured perfectly, and the team's attitude was positive throughout. I'll surely hire them again.

We planned the move from AZ to Ohio. Bright Star told us delivery would be on Monday, July 22. After verifying the date of delivery, we schedule the drive east with family assisting and driving our second car. We got reservations at three hotels along the route. On Monday, July 22, we were told by the movers Bright Star is the broker, Rapid Express removed the furniture from the house, and then took it to a storage unit where it now sits until M&R Expedits Moving and Storage decides to pick it up and deliver it....maybe by August 15. We have been tricked, lied to, and I feel we're about to be victims of theft. We are older; we have medicine in our packed items, all our furniture, clothing, things we use for work... The moving industry needs regulations and oversight because this happens more often than not. I am an insurance investigator and have investigated dozens of these sleezy companies. I urge everyone to contact their state attorney generals and file a complaint. Urge your local politicians to push legislation to control this industry. This is organized crime..... I am going to push and be a giant pain in the ass to these people...fight back; the more voices the more this crime will be hard to ignore....

Movers showed up 13 hours late, then didn't finish until 11pm when the initial window was from 9-12. Then the items did not arrive for three weeks when they had told me it would be 3-4 days, and we were missing our desk, and several boxes of sentimental items. When the movers arrived we discovered that we had to sign another contract with another smaller company. We were pressed for time and did not have a choice. We have called several times but neither Brite Star or 365 Movers have been able to help. We paid 2500 for this move and are still missing 1500 worth of items and have no direct person to call to solve this issue. We were sent to a claims website to make a claim where it could take up to 120 days to resolve. This was a terrible experience, do not work with these people, they are frauds.
