Unreliable Seller: Zero Communication

On 30/05/2025, I ordered paperback copies of three books: Ikigai, Tuesdays with Morrie, and A Man Called Ove. Their terms and conditions state that shipping will be done within two days, but it has now been five days. I tried to contact them via both email and WhatsApp, but received no reply. I also called and got the same result.

Review for Bookish

Very bad experience. No response after placing order. It’s been more than 15 days and still no dispatch update. Only repeated replies on email/WhatsApp saying “working on it” but no resolution. No proper timeline or support. Not recommended.

Quality of the books is very bad.

Quality of the books is very bad.

Delivery was ok. They dont source books from the original publishers but sell 1st, 2nd or may be 3rd copies there are so many mistakes in the book.

Printing is horrendous and many times the ink is not visible. Reading experience for this books is really bad.

If you want to read a book at cheaper price then choose this option.

This company is literally the worst…

This company is literally the worst place to buy books. First of all when i ordered from their site, I talked to their customer care whether the books are real or reprints and they Told me that all the books on their website are real and original. Secondly they told if my books are received but there are any missing they will refund. So ofcourse when the books arived 3weeks after estimated date they we reprints and were heavily damaged. When i asked for a refund the customer care started DELETING THE MESSAGES IN WHICH THEY TOLD REFUND IS AVAILABLE. When i showed him his company policy the customer care guy did not reply even. If you want to give a filthy fraud some extra money then buy from here. I will never ever hope that anyone buys from here again.

Don't place any orders. Very Bad!!!

My experience is very bad when I ordered using ACADZONE in BookAdda. Very poor customer care process. No response to the calls made and the status remains as "Ordered" only even after 10 days from the day of placing the order. There is no option to cancel the order even. Strongly recommend not to place any orders using this source.

Worst experience

I ordered a book on nov 21..its been almost 1 month and i havent yet received it..since then i have been calling them and every time i get answers like custom issues or courier delay or some warehouse s**t..every time i call there is only one custom care executive picking up the phone..its a bunch of dudes who started a rogue company to rob people's hard earned money..Do not order!!!

IT IS A TOTALLY FRAUD SITE WITH POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT

They take an order for Delivery in 4-6 days. Then after 15 days they tell the book has been shipped. After 20 days they tell that there is a price increase. Instead of Rs 2352/= which they have taken in advance against a book which was in-stock now they want rs. 3000/=.. Without any reason.
So order on this site it is a total fraud as how can anyone increase the price after taking a confirmed order and advance Money.

Fake Fake Fake!!!!!!

I placed an order of one book,order id-1442857471525 that was supposed to be delivered on 26th august 2015,but have not received it yet. Neither they give any information about the product nor reply to the mails. Their customer care no. never works. They are neither refunding my money. This company cant be trusted .. A fake company...never buy anything from this site

Worst service ever!!!

I had ordered a book on july 20,2015 and they promised delivery in three days. Every other day I call them, they say it will be delivered tomorrow. And the mail id for customer service does not work at all. Its a month since I ordered but I am yet to receive the book. Please think twice before placing orders with them!!

Worst Service

I placed an order for 3 books on 12th May 2015 and the expected dispatch was 1-3 days. They accept all the orders with out verifying the stock with them. I had waited for almost 10 days and when I called the customer care they mentioned that they didn't have the stock. When I asked why they didn't update about the order, they started telling all sort of stories and finally they agreed to call me back and update about the delivery with in a day. Again same thing repeated, I didn't get any call from them even after a week but I got an email saying that my order got cancelled. When I called the customer care again to check the order status they didn't even know that the order got cancelled and they started making false promises again. I finally asked them to refund the money. Its been almost a month from the time I had placed the order and I m yet to get my money back.

Very pathetic service and I will never buy anything from this site.

Two months to sort out a small issue - worst part being issue yet to be sorted out

I placed an order for 6 books with Bookadda on the 16th of June. On the 19th, I receive a mail saying 4 out of the 6 books have been cancelled. Now books getting cancelled due to unavailability is quite a common occurrence especially when the current availability status are not updated by e-retailers regularly on their websites. So did not make big deal out of it. Then on the 1st of July I receive a mail saying that they 'noticed my order has been cancelled' and I quote "we hope it wasn't something we did!". Bloody. Not only do you cancel my orders, you also imply that I cancelled it in the first place! I wrote back to them for an explanation. But no one bothered. So, all right, I thought I would get the other two books in my order at least. I waited till July 15 - almost a month - I didn't receive the books. Then I wrote to them requesting the status of the other two books. Then started this whole 'Support Ticket' opening business! During the course of the next month they opened about TEN, I kid you not, TEN support tickets for the same bloody issue with me demanding them why haven't they refunded only part of my money (for the 4 books) has been refunded when not a single item from my order undelivered and them merrily replying, "we have refunded only Rs.XXX" - Like I didn't know! I checked the status of the remaining two items which had been shipped via one relatively unknown courier company called GMS and the status read 'In Transit' despite the booking date being June 17!
The worst part was they kept closing their bloody tickets even before ensuring my complaint had been resolved! Can't a company of Bookadda's stature with the self-proclamation of 'India's favourite Online Book Store' place a system of checks which tells them if a shipped item has been delivered to their customer?! Beats me! I called their customer service number even today (Aug 8). The number just kept ringing and nobody bothered to answer.
Have shopped a few times with Bookadda before but this one experience has soured every bit of trust I had in this company. An order being cancelled is not an issue, but when you don't even bother to address a simple concern of your customer, it doesn't speak well of you.
Very very long post I agree! But I really had to lay the truth bare and vent my frustrations with 'India's favourite Online Book Store'. If somebody from the company is reading this, hope you do something to shape up your customer service, else it's going to be all downhill.

worst experience ever

i ordered books on 31 july 2013, i waited for 10 days as normally all the online shopping sites take for delivery but it failed and now its been 17 days but still i have not received my parcel and there is no sign that i would be receiving it soon.

i called the customer service but they failed to give me any sort of help,when ever i call they say me that i should wait and they would contact me after 2hours which they never did. As i was not getting any help over phone i sent a mail but it was the same, i dint get any reply.

The customer care unit is not aware of the process, as one of the customer service who attended me gave me false report which was later accepted by them, so atlast i was tired of calling again and again so i cancelled my order today.

The service of book adda is worse, i regret that i placed an order here.

Worst Service I have ever Seen

These guys sent me the wrong book which is 80% lesser than what I ordered. I calle dup their customer support. Their phone lines are very bad. Every time the customer rep hangs up the phone. You need to call again and again. It took me 8 phone calls to explain the problem to their customer rep. They promised they will revert in one hour. I have not heard from them. I called them up the next day. They asked me to send the book back and hanged up the phone again. I have not seen such irresponsible customer reps. I suggest not to buy from these guys.

40 days and still repenting

my order no is 1346482174087 and i booked on 15th aug.i havent recieved the book yet. when i call the customer care, they ask me to confirm if i want the book to be sent.if i call after 2 days they will say the same thing.
they dont know what job they r doing.they call it indias favourite online bookstore.
i am repenting for ordering on bookadda.
its upto u, u may be the next guy to repent
they dont even email, evn when it is free. they dont value their customers.
