Poor and incompetent property managers
We used their property management and tenancy service. They were extremely unprofessional and kept us bouncing between various people. They will only get in touch when it is financially incentivised directly for them. They delayed our claim which resulted in it being rejected, and are very rarely transparent. The also told us very late about our deposit claim and only via phone after months of chasing. Avoid at all costs.
Worst experience that still not over
If I could give a - 1 I would.
My seller is using this s**house of a company and just like Blundells they are managed by the CHUCKLE BROTHERS.
Blundells have aimed for w/c 18th for moving I find out Wednesday by talking to my own solicitor that my seller has no Mortgage offer in place for onward purchase.
Were discussing completion and move dates and there is no mortgage in place this is a joke.
Sellers solicitor and Blundells should be aware of this as there owned by the same company.I am still waiting since Wedensday for Blundells to come back to me from emails and left message.(Dawn area manger who clearly in wrong job)I have had to go around to seller to get to bottom of what the hells going on.
Where is the call to say there's an issue and theost upsetting and frustrating thing is this is our first time buying a home and it should be exciting and merobale but it's the worst experience I have ever been through from lack of customer service to the rude staff to lack of infomation coming from Blundells it always myself chasing and why should you have to get to the point of exploding to get anywhere.
I'm confident that no-one will give a dam about this review from the company or even get a reply.
I have also tired to call the complaints line as Im getting nowhere fast and yes you guess it no awnser tjist a voicemail and yes you guessed again no response since Thursday this week from voicemails left.
But I'll let them off as if my experience is anything to go by they will have tons to work thorough.
Thankyou for making this experience such great.
Please please please AVOID THIS COMPANY AND BLUNDELLS AT ALL COST.
Scammed us out of our deposit
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Genuinely could not have had a worse experience with this company. They use completely outdated photos to advertise their properties, I don't even know how it's legal to be honest. I'd describe them as scammers. They hardly addressed any of the serious issues we had with the rental and the staff were so rude. Avoid at all costs.
Should really be called Blunders
Dreadful service from start to finish. This lot really stand out for the uncaring and incompetent manner in which they conduct their business. Easily the worst agent that I have ever come across and, let's face it, the estate agent's bar is a very low one. I feel like I'm hugely overrating their review by giving one star. Avoid like the plague.
Rarely answer the phone, share personal details with other buyers and facilitate gazumping.
From beginning to miserable end, our dealings with Blundells Banner Cross have been poisonous.
I’d say it was poor from first contact but it’ll take you a dozen unanswered calls before you can get through. Once you do, you’d better hope they’re not in their morning staff meeting otherwise they’re not interested, ask to call you back and then ‘forget’ to do so.
After eventually getting through and arranging a viewing at the weekend, we loved the property and called to make an offer on Monday morning. Georgia answered (after the usual number of attempts to get through). On hearing we wanted to make an offer, she told us they were in their morning meeting and if they could call back in ten minutes. Bit of a surprise.
Half an hour later, I called back. She said she was just about to call me (of course), took the details of the offer and said she’d get back to us. We heard nothing all day and, once they’d closed, we received an email saying our offer had been sent.
And then begins the opaque language. “The offer is acceptable but not accepted, proceeding with preferred offer, I’ve got to be careful with how I phrase this, they’re just getting legal advice, we’ll let you know as soon as we know more.” The lack of transparency meant we had no idea where we were in the process. We were told the vendor needed legal advice as they’d undertaken works on the property without the freeholder’s permission.
Eventually, we were told that the vendors were happy and that our offer had been accepted. They requested that we visit the branch on a Saturday morning to take our ID documents and sign forms for credit checks etc. Following this, we instructed our solicitor and told our mortgage advisor to go ahead with the mortgage application We celebrated, contacted nurseries and visited the area at the weekend to get a feel for the sites and amenities.
A week later, we had a call to say our offer had been accepted. This after we’d been told a week ago that it already had been. We thought nothing of it and that it was the usual incompetence and lack of communication.
Devastatingly, we received a call a few hours later completely out of the blue, telling us they had gone to the vendor with a higher offer from another buyer and that we'd lost the property. This news was given to us in the evening by someone we’d never spoken with before. They told us the vendor didn’t want to hear any more offers from us.
The next day, we upped our offer, anyway - a degrading feeling, considering we’d already had our offer accepted. The vendor decided they wanted to hear best and final offers from us. Refusing to move and be messed around any further, we gave them a deadline that passed. The house was now somewhat ruined for us by the experience and we just wanted the charade to end.
By far and away, the most worrying aspect of our dealings were data protection issues. The negotiator told us the names of the other bidders, their occupation, that the vendor was worried about having a survey done on the house due to the nature of the works they had done on it and other inappropriate information I felt uncomfortable being told. She seemed only interested in increasing the price for the vendor and not in avoiding gazumping or honouring our agreed sale.
Throughout the whole process, all dealings were ambiguous and shady. The sale falling through should not have surprised me, as every dealing we'd had with them had been unclear, unhelpful and unprofessional. They didn't even have the courtesy of getting someone we'd been dealing with to call us with the news. The advert for the property was sloppy with poor photos taken of rooms and some key rooms (like lounge and master bedroom) missing entirely.
The branch manager called me to discuss what had gone wrong. He recognised there were errors in process and said he would deal with them ‘sensitively’. He was civil and clearly disappointed, but I received a classic, “I’m sorry if you feel that way” apology without any real action outlined beyond talking with his team.
Buyers and sellers alike should avoid this agent. Compared to every other agent we've spoken with in Sheffield, they are miles behind in terms of technology, customer care, data protection and responsiveness.
Happily ignorant and neglectful
Happily ignorant and neglectful of any duties other than collecting rent. Slight pain to sort which was not their fault, but the delays and timing were. Rented a house for two years. Used some suspect cleaning company (that they are miraculously) also linked with to extort us on leaving. Why would any sane business use a firm that charged sixty quid to clean an oven other than corruption? A great example of the modern approach to renting, akin to a medieval land baron who wants money but does not want to provide any service. Avoid if possible
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. I wish I could give less than one star. one of the most inept and cruel letting agencies. I would highly advise to go elsewhere if you’re renting. They refused to acknowledge a lease with a landlord which is illegal and have also withheld extra rent paid by myself for two months. Despite me emailing DAILY for weeks, the only answer I get is “I will update you when I have an answer from accounts.” They refuse to tell me why they have failed to return this despite telling me on more than one occasion this would be returned in a few days. I switched to Reeds Rains and they have been nothing but lovely and helpful. Even waived fees bc they felt it was the right thing to do. Blundells cares about making money for themselves and nothing else.
