No refund and communication

I canceled my trip for Riley’s wedding and requested a refund in December with a promise of a partial refund, but months later I still have not received it. I have called and emailed multiple times with no response—no updates, no returned calls, and no communication from the company. Very disappointing experience and extremely frustrating customer service. I do not recommend this company.

We had a wedding booked here and I would say we enjoyed ourselves. Our guests loved it. The food wasn't great but the ambience was wonderful

WARNING!!!

If i could give them a 100% zero, i would. But, i had to select 1 to submit my review. Whatever you do, do not use this travel agency and travel to mexico's TRS Coral Resort! Paid for double bed Jr. suite with ocean view, $1500 in resort credit, variety of good food and transportation. Upon arrival, we received one kind size bed with no ocean view and was expected to sleep with my friend for duration of stay. Resort was not accommodating or offered any compensation and staff was exceptionally. Was offered $600 in resort credit and was told to split with my friend. Three cheese toast was made on hot dog buns drizzled with Velveeta cheese...nasty. Ordered potato skins and received 1 on a plate. Never seen my butler. Needless to say, we were on a flight home the next day. To add insult to injury, the resort tried to extort extra money from us. By this time I was very nervous, hailed a taxi outside the resort to airport. Sun Blue is refusing to give us a total refund. Thank God Vacations were paid with credit cards and not debit cards and can ask for a reversal of monies! DO NOT BOOK WITH SUN BLUE VACATIONS TO TRS CORAL RESORT...DONT SAY YOU WERE NOT WARNED!!!!

Do NOT use Blue Sun Weddings!!

Do NOT use Blue Sun Weddings!!! They will turn your dream wedding into a nightmare. They are totally disorganized. Bride was in tears days before departing for her wedding. There was a complete lack of communication with her and with us as guests traveling to Mexico. Even with months of planning, the bride had no idea what her wedding bouquet would look like. They relocated her venue from the location she was promised. None of the guests (who paid in full months in advance) had travel documents or airport transfer information. We were promised to have the travel documents and trip confirmation in hand 3 weeks before the trip. We were promised transfer information from the airport to the resort 2 weeks before the trip. We received these 2 1/2 days before scheduled departure. This was after numerous attempts to contact Blue Sun - who don't even have a phone number! You can only reach them by email or scheduling an online appointment - which we tried to do, and the system didn't even send us confirmation that we had scheduled an appointment. We were told the missing travel documents and transfer information was a 1 time "computer glitch". However, after reading these reviews, it is clear that this is how they operate. We ended up not going to the wedding after paying in full. Our daughter who was to travel with us has an infant and she became very concerned about safety and the legitimacy Blue Sun and their ability to transfer us safely to the resort - since there was ZERO communication. We were flying into an area with an increased warning to a Level 3 - which is "reconsider travel" due to increased crimes against and kidnappings of Americans. Level 3 is the same level as Israel is currently at and they are in the middle of a war against Gaza. When I told Blue Sun that we were no longer going because my daughter was concerned about the lack of a safe transfer when we kept not getting information about it - they emailed saying the area was only under a Level 2 travel advisory. They tried to be tricky and go with the area the resort was in - even though the arrival/departure/transfer area was much higher risk. I have traveled to 6 out of the 7 continents and this is the worst travel booking experience I have ever had. They should not be in the travel business and DEFINITELY not in the business of weddings.

I inqured about services for my…

I inquired about services for my Wedding on June 23,2023. Amy was the 1st person I dealt with and she was an absolute gem. She unfortunately, doesn't work for them anymore. I then was working with Dana Washburn who did good job. Zion at 1st was really great until the mistakes started. My guest were quoted 10,000 for four individuals in a room which obviously was incorrect. The agency also accidentally sent out the wrong date in emails regarding payment deadlines which completely turned my guest off. This was so stressful because dealing with 65 guest and traveling problems became so much work.It was constant miscommunication. She went on maternity leave but we were never notified about it and had a completely different person to work with which caused even more chaos. Currently I have family member’s that were unable to attend the wedding due to a death in their family. Thank God they had insurance however, till this day they are yet to receive their refund and tomorrow makes it a month since they last reached out. My website was never put on their site for accessibility however, other couples getting married a year after my wedding was posted on their site. It honestly was a horrific experience and I suggest more organization. It added on more stress to me as the Bride, and the purpose of this was to alleviate it.The CEO was involved and included which assited with smoothing things over but I'm still very disappointed it was unorganized and embarrassing to face family and friends with all of the discrepancies.

Our Beach Master Jeff Rudolph made and makes our travel experiences so easy. I just tell him what I want, and he does all the leg work! And quite honestly with me....it can be a lot of work! He is so friendly and patient, that it takes much of the hassle out of traveling!

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would. I will never in my life use this agency again! My family and I took a trip to Punta Cana for my 5 year anniversary.
The trip started off stressful when our flight was cancelled. So I call my agent Mary Eastman right away to see if she can help get us on the next flight out. She tells me to go talk to the airline at the desk and have them figure it out for me. (Which may I add, one couple with us thought that was crazy and their travel agent would always take care of any issues.) So after a hour of trying to figure this out, the lady at the desk said she can get us on a flight that same night but because we booked through a third party and not through the airlines directly there was some sort of weird block that she couldn’t bypass.
So I call Mary again and she said she would have to call Apple vacations to see what they would do. She suggested I call (another mind blow) and I asked if she would. Why did I even book with a travel agent if they weren’t going to do anything to help just sit there and collect the commission.
So it came down to us having to book another flight OURSELVES with no help from Mary. While on our trip she didn’t check in not one time. She didn’t even ask if we found a different flight, she had no clue when or if we were still going because she just never checked in at all.
Another thing that blew my mind.
The airline said we would get a credit for the flight back to the credit card that was used to pay the trip. The girl from apple vacations is reading me off these weird names and card numbers that were used to pay for the trip. I asked Mary what that was and she said they are company cards. Ok makes sense, sure.
Well still waiting for my refund and of course no updates. I’m beyond frustrated and upset with this company, specially Mary. I just want my refund so I can be done and never use them again. Maybe I had back luck and just got a bad agent or maybe the whole team is like this. But I will not test that theory!
I hope BlueSun Vacations reads this and gets my refund back to me.

I should have read the reviews before accepting this company is true what they say after your deposit you don't know anything you might as well go through the resort still waiting for someone to return my call still waiting to hear some answers not a good experience

Horrible customer service

This is our second trip using Blue Sun Vacations. Our first trip was during 2020 and the issues that we had were out of the agents hands, there wasn’t much sympathy from the agent, but also not much she could control.
This trip however was much different. Before we left our agent sent an email with 2 different phone numbers highlighted on who to call if we had issues. We ran into issues immediately as our first flight was delayed by 4 hours and would mean we would miss the connecting flight. We emailed our agent, but she was out of the office, we also texted and got no response. We worked with the gate agent to get flights secured for the next day, and then called the first number that was listed. After an hour on hold they let us know that they didn’t have our reservation. We called the second number and they were the agency that had the number. They asked why we were calling instead of our travel agent, but they were able to let the resort, and transportation know we wouldn’t be arriving on time.
Once we arrived at the resort we were told that we had to call their direct line to try and get an extra day tacked onto our vacation. They weren’t able to help us so we reached out to our agent again and got no response. We called the booking agency direct again and they asked why our agent wasn’t reaching out again. We explained that we hadn’t heard back and they tried helping us again, but got no response from the resort. We tried again the next day and our agent got back to us and said that once we leave she can’t help us. We called the agency again and they asked why we were reaching out instead of the agent, we explained the situation and they had us speak to the resort again.
Overall on this trip we spent about 10 hours on the phone trying to resolve our issues to either get an extra day added on to our trip, or use our insurance we had purchased to recoup the night we lost. We still don’t have resolution and have been asked by the agency to email them directly going forward and they will handle everything.
Needless to say we have been very frustrated by the lack of resolution from Blue Sun Vacations. Our expectation was that if something happened they would handle it, work with the agency they used to get our money back, and handle all communications. The fact that we spent 10 hours of our trip trying to handle all of these issues ourselves is extremely disappointing. Going forward we will using a new travel agent and will not be recommending Blue Sun to anybody.

Cancun Destination Wedding

We planned a destination wedding through Blue Sun. The original date was canceled last year due to the pandemic. The venue took six months to refund our deposit for some of guests. Rebooked with Hyatt Ziva which was very nice and service was good with the exception of the event coordinator, Discova. Between Discova and Blue Sun, transportation was completely chaotic. Blue Sun was not responsive to many of the guests that were having issues. This destination wedding had 60 guests and unfortunately quite a few had issues with transportation.

Frustrated

2nd time using BlueSun. First time was great. Second time was awful. Still waiting on a refund promised since the cancellation back prior to our April trip due to the Pandemic. Most of the refund was received except $611...no one is getting back to me anymore and so I have had to seek legal counsel. It is horrible for such a small amount and now Apple Vacations will end up paying more. They should have just expedited the remaining $611 and closed the file.

Was charged twice for luggage, paid for with reservations then again at airports . was told I would get refund of $220 within 90 days still no refund

We needed to submit a case to Customer Care on your behalf and then from there, the refund goes in a queue. This comes on unfortunate timing with COVID-19 and all of our suppliers' refunds and Customer Care cases have been seeing massive delays. We have gone through the proper channels to make sure this refund comes back to you and you can be in contact with your travel adviser, Mary, with any updates that she may have.
