We visited the zoo on Monday 4th May 2026, with it being a bank holiday we arrived early. We were then disappointed as the elephant base camp building was closed, especially as it is the first place,... Mehr ansehen

Myself, my daughter and two very young granddaughters visited mid-week, during term-time. We had a lovely time, and we're able to see all of the animals. We took a picnic, just sat on the grass (w... Mehr ansehen

The UK's BEST zoo
Having visited most of the larger zoo's in the UK, this place is the best. I can't boast this place highly enough. Even on a cold day in February, I saw every single animal. I felt like I had the place to myself. The admission was half the price of London and Chester. The animals were right up to the glass, to the point I could get a selfie with the primates. I felt like I could almost touch them. A brilliant experience!
I went with my 2 artistic grandsons…
I went with my 2 artistic grandsons today most of the animes were looked in as it was too cold to be outside.
The cafe was too crude and noisy for the boys to sit inside left after 2 hours and will not be going back not even on a good day.
Great family day out
I'm not sure what everyone is upset about. We come here each year and always have a fab time - the staff are generally really helpful and the animals are usually out (Some people need to remember that sometimes the animals just want to rest... imagine being gawked at 24/7). If the animals aren't out, they are usually the ones that have a show each day. So just go to that!
Apparently only for the locals?
Cornered by the Lions enclosure and informed most impolitely that the zoo is only for the locals and we shouldn’t be there. Further we should go back from where we came and liquid sent my way. When asking them to allow us to have a peaceful experience we were denied. Informing them that the lions aren’t from the local area either they insisted born’n bread ect. Definitely will avoid to comply and avoid any more issues.
Disappointed
Disappointed, prices way too high on top of that we payed car park for a day 4£, we spotted more employes doing jobs instead of more animals for 2 adults and a child we ended up paying more that 90£ including lunch who is between limited hours.
Think twice if you want to put your money against this zoo, much improvements needed
Why would you need 2 employees cleaning field of Wallabies poo and 2 for blowing a leaves next to each other 😶
Great zoo wiv or wiv out kids
This one of best zoos we've been to, dinosaur part great lots of animals I've come without children and still spent 4hours here. The only thing didn't like have to buy reusable cup 4hot drinks, so had to carry cups around All day
Visited a few times
Great zoo that we have visited a few times while in the area.
Amazing family day out.
Amazing family day out.
We had a great day. Lovely friendly and helpful staff.
2 members of our party have type 1 diabetes and the kitchen provided us the nutritional guide so we could work out medication doses.
Loads of signage, shops, cafes and things to see
A really lovely day spent at Blackpool Zoo
The animals appear well cared for with plenty of staff on hand with a knowledge of the animals and their individual characters. Staff were also busy maintaining enclosures, another positive sign. The zoo has lots of animals and you can easily spend a day looking around or sitting watching - we loved watching the orangutans! Whilst it was busy it’s big enough to find quieter areas to sit and enjoy the grounds, which also look cared for. I preferred it to Chester zoo, it has a nicer atmosphere. The food outlets are fine, nothing to write home about but the staff were friendly and the food was ok. I was also impressed by the loos, bearing in mind the number of people they were clean and maintained. The only issue was the limited bus service? We tried to get a bus into Blackpool outside the zoo but it didn’t come (despite the timetable saying otherwise) so we walked part way and caught a bus at the hospital. Overall we had a lovely day (3 generations of us!) and look forward to going back in the autumn.
Nice zoo but ripped for parking and refreshments
Second visit in three years. The zoo itself is nice and you can get very close to the animals...BUT... Having booked online and paid over £105 I felt very disappointed that it is an exta £4 to park the car. The zoo is remote from anywhere else to park and they have a captive audience (and I dont mean the animals!). Arriving outside the front entrance I queued to hand over £4 to a young man who put it in a bag and said "Write your reg number on that page at the table" No receipt or ticket given and what happens if a page goes missing? No audit trail at the zoo as to how much has been received for parking. Once at the entrance pay booths there is no separate entrance to fast trrack people who have paid in advance so you have to queue again. Enjoyed the layout and the animals . The food prices are extortionate and the quality extremly poor. (Fortunately we took our own). I went into the cafe for two teas and watched the slowest, most sullen looking, and disinterested young staff members anywhere. No smile, no please or thank you. They moved slower that sloths and everything looked too much trouble. The tea was £2.25 each... but you have to buy a "sustainable" plastic cup for £1 which you can return for a refund (not very likely judging by the length of the queues at the cafe and slowness of the staff). So £3.25 for a cup of tea...rip off again. In all, everything seemd geared up to take your cash from you. including £3.85 for a Magnum lolly (not bought as its another rip off).
I enjoy the zoo but the above spolied the day.
Visited here on Monday.
Visited here on Monday.
Worried about one of the tigers, it was just pacing round and round, back in its enclosure to repeat it all again.
I have seen several people voice their concerns on here, sadly no responses and nothing seems to have changed.
Shame on you.
The price of your drinks and food is astronomical,
£3.25 for a bottle of coke.
Please can you tell us all how you justify £9 for a burger.??
We didn't bother eating here!!
The food outlet
The Zoo itself was ok, however I did feel a bit concerned that one of the Tigers seemed to be stressed, it was constantly pacing up and down, and they looked to be under weight, other then that the animals seemed to be ok.
The cost I felt was quite expensive really especially at a time when things are so difficult, I feel they should find a way of putting more special offers on for families.
The worse thing about it was the food outlet, absolutely disgusting, it was cold the hot dog was on a dry bun with nothing else, the Burger was like rubber, they advertised a bucket of chips you would think that would be a large bucket, but hey it was very small £6.50 my God that was so ridiculous, I have had food in the past that was not up to scratch, but i can honestly say that was by far the worse I have ever had, and to make it worse there was no way of putting a complaint in to anyone.
My Great Grandson loves animals and this was his treat and I feel very let down by the standard of food, well to be honest there was no standard.
I doubt anything will be done about this as we are in a position that we have no choice but to buy this rubbish, if I was to come again as I said my Great Grandson loves the animals so I probably would, I would bring my own food.
This zoo is very concerning
This zoo is very concerning. The animals do not look like they are being looked after. They are not very alert like animals should be. The Tigers are far too thin, the enclosure isn't big enough and one Tiger was constantly pacing up and down like it was stressed. The Lions looked like they'd been sedated, they never moved at all. It wasn't only disappointing but it was very disturbing to see, animals should not look under fed
All animals look unwell
We have Visted alot of Zoos and this is the second we vistied blackpool zoo and on both occastions all the animals looks limp amd not with it as concerns me we have vistit south lakes zoo and all the animals are lively and responsive unlike blackpool zoo all the animals are lame and look unwell
Dirty disgusting cleaners
Information on the website is wrong! The info states that if you stay until closing you will see the big cats being fed, we missed the talk so asked a staff member later in the day what time the cats would be fed as it was going to be a huge highlight of our visit to be told it is done during the talk. We were very frustrated at this especially having planned our day following the wrong information on your website. Also whilst eating in the lake side cafe, the cleaner was sweeping the floor then proceeded to use the same brush to brush any crumbs off the chairs at the table next to us. The amount of dirt, germs and bacteria that would be on that sweeping brush to then see it be used on the same chairs your customers have to sit on is absolutely disgusting! It left me and my family feeling like we were wearing dirty clothes for the rest of the day and we had to be extra careful not to touch the back of our trousers! Not to even mention the fact that we had touched the chairs to pull them into the table to eat and our hands then touched our food, we had to stop eating, wash our hands then finish our meal. This is a major issue and the cleaner ought to be sacked. Absolutely disgusting.
A fun experience!
This was so fun! Since my 2 daughters were going back to school, I decided to take them to the zoo. They loved it! They did get scared of the lions 😱 but overall such a fun day!
Zoo is great food outlets rubbish…
Zoo is great food outlets rubbish expensive and refuse to serve me exactly what I ordered and
Disappointed
Hello, we bought 2 tickets to the zoo for today but were unable to find a parking space after 20 minutes of looking, even with the overflow parking there were no spaces left, we arrived at 12:30 and are now having to leave, lost our money with no place to park to enjoy the tickets we travelled 40 minutes from home to come today, we are very disappointed in the service, if you are high in demand and are expecting a busy day either stop ticket sales or have enough parking spaces to accommodate for the people you’re expecting.👎🏻
Perfect day out
Had a very good view of all the animals. All facilities were excellent and staff friendly and helpful. One of my favourite animals are Gorillas and they did not disappoint 🥰. We really enjoyed the dinosaurs too.
Fantastic day out with Husband & 2…
Fantastic day out with Husband & 2 Granddaughters, very very impressed with the whole experience, plenty of places to eat your own food, tables & chairs everywhere. The zoo has really had some renovations and looks magic, a lot better than London Zoo, plenty of animals and the first time I have seen a Red Panda. The gift shop was very good with plenty of gifts to suit everyone, plenty of staff about to help you.
All the animals very clean and looked happy.
Car parking not a rip off for £3. Would visit again
