Tony is the biggest scammed going! He did chimney repairs at my property and took £1000. To his personal account not the company account. He said he was working for someone and had been laid off but he was point of contact all the way through. He did a botched job on my property which I had to fork out over £3000 to repair. He made it worse than it was. What is really bad is he has kids of school age working for him. Beaware and stay away. He will ask for some of the funds up front to cover material costs and then leave you high and dry. He is a cowboy! This was in 2024 under the company name the roofing guys.

This thing is a scammer n a cowboy not professional quick to take your money and not finish jobs trying to get hold of him is also a nightmare number works reads messages and ignores you please do not get work from him he is a fraudster cowboy builder mentions his dad and family company but it is all lies. I have contacted bark he dont exist on therr anymore, he is not on NFRC and CORC which is the federation of roofing contract

I recently had them out to do some repairs on my roof after putting a post on Bark.com.
I already had my roof completely done but another roofer who was also off Bark.com but he didn’t fix the leak by my flu pipe and wouldn’t reply to any of my attempts to contact him so as a last resort I went back on Bark.com and get another roofer to fix it and birch and sons roofing 1968 contacted me straight away and said that they had seen my post on Bark.com and would be straight out to give me a quote and any other issues that needed fixing.
He sent me photos and videos while he was on the roof and said that the other contractor had not finished the roof properly and it would cost another £2100 to fix it and foolishly l went ahead and told him to do it.
When they had finished l paid by bank transfer and they said that they would send me the 13 year guarantee by email and post and when I contacted them again they said that the computer system was being upgraded and would be a while before they could email it to me.
I noticed that something wasn’t right when it rained one night so I went into the attic to check and there was a water leak on the felt so l tried to contact them but they wouldn’t answer my calls and I did manage to talk to him he said that he would call back and this happened twice and then he said that he was going on holiday and would ring in 40 minutes but didn’t.
I eventually got through to him the next morning and when he answered the phone l could hear his wife in the back ground say he shouldn’t be answering the phone because he was drunk and took the phone off him and said that he would call me once he was back off holiday.
I have since noticed that they have fixed the leak but putting expanding foam in it because it’s now sticking up on the roof and I’ve read that expanding foam is a no no on roofs.
Bark.com deny that birch and sons roofing 1968 were one of their tradesman (they used to be) but no longer on their website and that l must have gotten them from somewhere else but I only posted on their website so they contacted me from their site.

Birch Roofing Contractors 1968 contacted us when we looked on Bark to seek a legitimate, recommended roofing contractor.
I have had to give Birch one star on here, to be allowed to continue the review but, frankly, this bunch of out and out cowboys don't deserve to be allowed to continue operating as roofing contractors.
Tony Birch visited us and gave persuasive details of his company's prowess and reputation, while a young man he brought with him examined the roof. Birch promised to provide a detailed quotation within 24 hours and what we read impressed us, as it appeared to be thorough. Written warranties of between 15 and 25 years were given for the various elements of the work. It said the roof was generally sound and quoted £1700 for necessary repairs. It also said one of his roofing teams could start immediately. So, unfortunately we accepted the quote.
Once work started, Tony Birch recommended replacement of the ridge with a dry ridge system and installation of a dry verge system on the gable end. We agreed to this additional work and everything was completed in one day with a bill of £2487.
We weren't impressed by the mess they had left or the evident bodge job on some of the visible parts of the roof.
They returned for a second day to put things right but carried out further work we had not asked for and for which they demanded an additional £1400. Tony Birch waited while we tried to pay him by bank transfer which resulted in a telephone call from the fraud department of our bank, to verify this wasn't a scam. Foolishly we said it was a legitimate bill, so they approved the payment.
Three days later the newly installed plastic verges blew off on a windy night. We contacted Tony Birch and, initially he promised to send his men back. However, despite constant phone calls and written complaints from my wife and me, they have never come back and Tony Birch has avoided all further contact with us. So much for the Birch warranties.
Today another roofing contractor came, looked over the roof and said all the work had been very badly done. He quoted us a further £2800 just to redo the whole thing again properly. Alternatively, he suggested he could replace the whole roof for £7000.
Sadly, from experience, we didn't trust him either. Indeed,t was difficult for us to believe him, thinking it might turn out to be yet another bodge job? He was very pushy and glib.
One thing I can say categorically, steer clear of Birch and sons 1968, they are totally dishonest and Tony Birch is a liar. My advice is to only use roofers who run registered limited liability companies with properly verifiable business addresses. It was impossible to find where Birch operate from with some people who have posted reviews have suggested that they are from the traveller community.

Do not use this company, after taking your money they don't come back to finish the remaining jobs

I was on my first ever driving lesson and a worker from Birch Roofs started shouting things at me very loud and aggressively into the drivers window from the garden of a house he was working on.
I had been driving for 5 minutes total and he was distracting me going round a corner, I was feeling very anxious about the lesson and this only made things worse.
They seem like awful people, I would not let them anywhere near my property.

Not happy with this company. Paid them for a job and they only done half the job. Shocking work. And basically run of with the rest of my money. Do not deal with them.

Wish I would’ve found this page before. Left the roof a mess and didn’t fix the gutters (which was the main job)

This company is absolutely atrocious and horrible! Words couldn't describe how frustrated I am. They were supposed to fix the roof and instead of fixing it they caused loads of damage to my daughter's room, bathroom with everything leaking and marks left everywhere and broke my boiler. The manager Tony Birch is a liar he was only replying fast and acting nice for the money as soon as he got the money he stopped replying to me, made promises he couldn't keep and left the rubbish all Infront of my house , when trying to call him and contact him I get nothing. Stay away from this company unless you want your house ruined and more damage. Make sure you do your research and don't come to this crazy company as Tony Birch doesn't care and has now idea about roofing or anything he wants money and will scam you. WATCH OUT PEOPLE

DO NOT USE THIS CON MAN! If I could give no stars I would.
He offers a service, then comes to your property, lies about what he’s done, changes the price and damages everything on your property! Be warned, I can guarantee if you use this waste of space you will end up paying an arm and leg for everything he’s damaged to be fixed. He has been removed from Check a trade and Bark because he cons people and doesn’t make any attempt to resolve anything. He has never seen 5 stars on google either. If you leave a bad review on his socials he blocks you. His socials are full of bots that leave reviews. But if you do research you’ll find he also changes the name of his company a lot, he has been called, The Roofing Guys, The Doncaster Roofing Guys, Birch Roofing, Birch & Sons Roofing, and Moss Removal. He has 2 Facebook accounts Tony Jnr Birch, New Tony Birch also advertises on Instagram under Birch Roofs and TikTok Tony.Birch7 he is also from the traveller community. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN OR LET HIM LOOSE ON YOUR PROPERTY I CAN GUARANTEE YOU WILL END UP REGRETTING IT AND PAYING MORE. I have also spoken with a number of people that used him and ALL say the same. Go elsewhere and do your research.

Extremely Disappointed with This Roofing Company

We had a terrible experience with this roofing company. They failed to provide the full scope of services we were promised from the start. The crew left a huge mess around our property, and we had to spend extra time and money cleaning up after them.

They also claimed they would provide photos documenting the work from beginning to end, as well as proper certification once the job was completed — neither of which we ever received, despite repeated requests. I tried keeping the conversation but as soon as they got they money they just up and left and never spoke to me.

The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and failure to deliver on promises make it impossible for me to recommend this company to anyone. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for a reputable and honest roofing service.
