BG Smart power adaptor. Linked with my Alexa but just wouldn't work. A lot of faffing around with this, complete waste of time

Purchased BG 922UAC USB C socket and USB's have failed. Unable to return due to no proof of purchase even though I own the product.

Many others have reported 922UAC and USB sockets failing leading me to believe that BG are not serious about building long lasting products and fixing issues to ensure the customer has a good quality experience.

Warranty process requires proof of purchase even though unlikely to have after a number of years. Happy to return product but warranty cannot be issued without proof of purchased which appears to be a stalling technique to avoid returning faulty items.

Bought a BG Smart Adapter today from Aldi. Impossible to connect to my network using an iPhone. Tried smart connect with the 5ghz Wi-Fi temporarily turned off and the iPhone connected to the 2.4 ghz wifi. The BG Home app is unable to find the the Smart Adapter. Tried the manual process. The App can’t tell that the iPhone is connected to the 2.4 network even though the Hub manager shows it is. Returning to Aldi for a refund

I went to Aldi today and bought three of these. I tried the first one using the BG Home Android App. It would not connect to my 5.0GHz network, so I had to change MY network to 2.4GHz. I did. It still didn't connect. I tried the ‘AP Setup / Config’ set-up option. That didn't work. I tried the second plug. Exactly the same, yet my (TPLink Deco mesh) network alerted me that a device Luceco-2b-ba-b8 had joined the network when I was trying to make it connect, but still it hadn’t shown up in the BG Home App. Now I have to WASTE MORE TIME taking them all back to Aldi.

…HOLD ON, it’s the Android App that’s shoddy. It works first time with the iPhone App; THEN they're all accessible in the Android App :-)

It's ‘One star’ for the Android App from me then.

I have installed all BG Electrical Sockets, Dimmers and Switches, after my house renovation. Found them to be of good quality and looks elegant. And covers guarantee.

Bought and installed one of these ‘not so Smart’ sockets on 3/09/23 - took me around 2 hours to wire and install it and after around 4 hours of trying to get it to connect (including calling BT and BG tech help) I decided it must be a faulty socket. Got a new one and it’s still the same - Will not connect, no matter what I try. Reconfigured my broadband router to 2.4GH as recommended by BG Tech Help turned off the Firewall, turned of my data on my phone and Bluetooth …all suggested by BG tech help and it still wouldn’t connect to the WiFi- 2 double sockets going back for a full refund!! They are a great idea but the connection to WiFi is shockingly bad!
As an addendum to this review - I have had further contact with Lucecco (the makers of the BG sockets) and found them to be really accommodating- having had a call back from them they are sending out two more WiFi sockets and we’ll see how they connect to the WiFi- watch this space.
Received the new sockets and guess what? They will not connect to the WiFi despite another hour on the phone to Tech Help and about 3 hours of trying. The sockets are a great idea but by god if you value your time - give them a very wide birth!!

I have purchased and fitted loads of BG twin sockets, USB sockets and waterproof outside sockets over the last 5 years and everything was good. Not had any reports of any breaking down. All the switches still work etc.
I didn't buy them from screwfix but went to TLC electrical as I do for all my electrical gear as they will not sell brands that are rubbish.
Why is is that screwfix products seem to fail?
Maybe they are selling fake products!

WiFi extender, hasn't worked consistently since I've had it, even the website you're directed to via QR code of web address doesn't work. A lot of money for a unit that doesn't work, too late to take it back. Also tested sockets recently and one shows as live even when switch is in the off position. Won't buy BG again.

Bought 8 BG 2 gang 2 way light switches recently from Screwfix. Out of the 8 switches, 5 were faulty on at least one of the two switches.

Spent several hours fault finding and pulling the switches to check functionality with a multimeter, only to find the switches were at fault.

Really poor quality manufacturing, would never buy BG products again!

The 13 amp remote control sockets are in my opinion dangerous. One day will work fine another they appear to work (either remotely or manually) but are in fact live all the time. The indicator lights on the socket go on and off as you would expect but the outputs are LIVE. I have returned several but each time the fault returns after awhile. I have spoken to BG and they confirm this can happen. So why are they still being sold? Should. be a recall at the very least.

Quite complicated to set up. I have one double socket each side of the bed. One constantly says no Wi-Fi. The other turns itself on a the time throughout the night. I think these sockets are unsafe, unfit for purpose and frankly quite dangerous.

WiFi socket locked up. No fault code in manual for led indication. No reply from customer services. As others experience CS non existent, avoid.

Got a wifi /usb socket so I could have a better internet connection in my bedrooms on the second floor and in the garden. Installing it was easy and done by an electrician, however, the wi fi does not sync with my router for love or money. I checked online, did the wps but nothing. Then tried the link and the qr code, again nothing. It looks like the website does not work. Telephoned the customer support but they were not very helpful. Also emailed them but no answer so far. Avoid like the plague!

Emailed customer services for a replacement part twice in the last month. Their automatic reply said they'll be in touch within 24 hours. Both times they did NOT bother to reply. Shameful.

If you want to buy from this company, only do so if you never ever expect to use their customer services.

Cooker socket stopped working after 4 years. Noticed that there was a 25 year guarantee and emailed customer services with a copy of my original invoice and the problem detail. Received an email back within 3 hours saying they would dispatch a replacement. Arrived next day via Fedex. Great customer service for me. Well done!

Replaced cooker control with socket outlet, from a 25 year old crabtree one which was just worn. new unit only lasted 9 months (with 25 year Guarantee) , contacted customer services, not interested, not helpful. I've installed thousands of outlets mainly MK & crabtree with hardly any issues. Used a wholesaler that only holds BG, and had problems with a number of Items, will not use again, especially after the customer service!

Purchased a weather proof socked via Amazon
emailed them 3 times with simple question, but their only answer was "send us a photo"
Amazon tried twice for a simple "Yes or No" answer but got the same response "send us a photo"
Gave up and Amazon made a refuned

Replaced a couple of sockets because of faulty clips and staining issue with minimal fuss. Speedy response and hassle-free which is quite an achievement during Covis times. Well done people.

Needed some help installing some BG smart sockets in my home, customer service were a great help answering my questions and providing instructions. Would definitely use again.

Bought some sockets but ordered wrong ones, were replaced next day. Very good service
