My Story:
I ordered a pool part from Best Pool Shop (bestpoolshop.com) expecting normal delivery. Instead, they held the order with zero cause or communication — no explanation, no updates, nothing. Customer service is deliberately designed to waste your time: you're stuck in an endless automated "category trap" loop with no real way to reach a human. After hours of attempts, I finally got through to an attendant who was rude, ignorant, and outright abusive. This isn't bad luck — it feels like a system built to take orders and then stonewall customers. Other buyers report the exact same pattern. Do not order from Best Pool Shop. Save your money, time, and frustration. Buyer beware — shop literally anywhere else.

When I called to have it replaced, I got a letter back from their "Legal Department" and admonished not to contact my credit card issuer to pursue a refund. Glad it wasn't a very expensive purchase. Waiting to see if I will get the refund on my credit card.

The person would not refund my money he wanted to setup an account for me, I don't have a pool I only needed to pump the collected water out of the basement hole on my property. Terrible establishment.

NEVER use this company. They are RUDE and unethical. I bought a gas valve last week that came today and it seems OK. I tried to purchase some valve items today but it went unbelievably crazy.
I entered an order to ship to my other home, but since my billing address was different than my ship to address, they won’t do that. The workaround that their website offers says to use Amazon pay. It did not process and I tried calling. They have no customer service people and won’t speak by phone. I tried to text them , but they turned abusive, threatening, and have somehow blocking my business… this is a PRIME example of bad business. STAY AWAY. I should have read these reviews….
Very unprofessional and hostile experience
I placed an order with Best Pool Shop, and when the items arrived, they were damaged. The packaging was packed with just a poly bag with some paper stuffing (no boxes) — so it’s no surprise the products broke during transit.
When I reached out politely to request a refund or replacement, instead of helping, the seller got really defensive and sent me some pretty harsh messages accusing me of fraud, threatening me with legal action.
I provided clear photos of the damaged items and explained the situation, but they refused to listen. The whole experience was stressful and unprofessional.
Our conversation unfortunately ended with them sending me a legal notice, claiming my allegation was false and an attempt at fraud. (What kind of fraud is this?? Why would I place an order and damage the items on purpose just to ask for my money back??)
As a customer, I expect at least respectful communication and some accountability for inadequate packaging. Instead, I was met with threats and baseless accusations. I cannot recommend this company at all.

I blame myself for not doing a little research on this outfit. Ordered a part for my pool autofill. These jokers literally picked up a 9$ toilet valve, removed it from the box, discarded the small hose and clip, wrapped it in a USPS plastic bag(s) and charged me $29.

Tried to place an order for 26 pool lights worth more than 15k. The most unpleasant person was assisting me when I called the store location in Pasadena CA. Horrible experience. Buyer’s be aware. I guess they deal with homeowners looking to buy few units and not contractors. Definitely not recommended!

I ordered a part and I return it and I wrote the address on the box and they only gave me was half of my money back stating that I damage the product by writing on the box 📦 . I put an item in shopping cart and selected "amazon pay" as payment method, but very intentionally di NOT complete the order and left it sitting on the computer screen as I went to give one more try to get my existing pool vac working before ordering new one. Came back 5 min later to have an email form them "confirming" an order that wasn't done. They don' answer the phone, just tell you to email and text them. I did. Got an overtly offensive response basically calling me liar. I'll pay more to buy elsewhere now. Yet to see refund.

Place a $650 order for pool parts. Said 2 to 4 days delivery. Emailed them on days 5,6, and 9. No response from their ONLINE team. Called the ONLINE team, and there is no way to get a human to talk to you. I then reached out to the brick-and-mortar store as I waited on hold for 30 minutes, and talked to a rude guy (can't say gentleman) who said he can't help with online orders. As I said to him, I am looking for someone who can help with online orders. Rudely, he said, email them. I said I have tried 4 times. I guess I will have to cancel my order that has been on hold since the day I ordered it. He said that would be fine and laughed and hung up on me. Then, as I'm trying to cancel my order, they charge a 6% restocking fee for something that they never attempted to ship. I would suggest that anyone with this problem, it would be best to contact the credit card bank that you used to get it cancelled, so way to save your money on restocking fees.

Despite our repeated and courteous emails advising you to contact Pentair Technical Support for a proper warranty evaluation, you have refused to do so—suggesting you are aware that the motor is not defective, but rather incompatible with your system.
Let us be absolutely clear:
Electrical items are strictly non-returnable, especially once installed or used. This policy exists to prevent safety hazards and liability concerns, and is a standard across the industry—not just our own. It is clearly stated on our website and was agreed to by you at checkout prior to completing your order.
By submitting your order, you entered into a legally binding contract governed by contract law, including UCC § 2-204, which upholds the enforceability of terms incorporated during checkout. That includes our published return and warranty policies.
Furthermore, your order was placed from Texas, and under Texas state law, as well as federal law including 15 U.S. Code § 45 (FTC Act), merchants are not required to accept returns on used, installed, or misrepresented products where the buyer accepted the terms of sale in advance.
Best Pool Shop does not process warranty replacements. If there is any possibility of a manufacturer defect, you must contact Pentair Technical Support at 800-831-7133. If they determine the motor is defective, they—not us—will handle the replacement under their warranty program. If they determine the product is not defective, the matter is closed.
Your narrative has shifted multiple times—from claiming the product was defective, to claiming you didn’t know the policy, to finally admitting it may be the wrong part. We will not respond to any additional messages on this matter unless you provide a valid Pentair TS (technical support) case number confirming the product was deemed defective by their team.

Found a good price for a Polaris K13…
Found a good price for a Polaris K13 leaf bag with FREE STANDARD SHIPPING plainly shown on the product page. Went to check out and they had given it the $9.99 3-day shipping option without any sign of switching to the free standard shipping. The $9.99 option looked like it had a click on/ click off button but it was not changeable. I had bought 2 of them and they charged the $9.99 for EACH of the 2 I had in my cart. These things come packaged in something the size of a soda can. Blatant bait and switch likely hoping nobody noticed. Forever on my avoid list.

Worst customer service ever
Place and order and tried to stop it before it went out. Their online phone options for online sales does not give you options to speak with a human being. I called the bricks and mortar store and they were just plain rude saying they were separate and had no contact information for the online group. Worst customer service ever.

I order a part for a Pentair filter on June 5th and paid for the order. On June 6th the order was cancelled because they "had complaints from our customer and stopped selling the product". The next day the product was listed again at a higher price. They claimed they "received another one yesterday" but declined to honor my original order. They have now blocked my IP from accessing their website. I have email correspondence and screenshots upon request. BEWARE.
Terrible customer service
Followed up on the status of an order. Customer Service very rude, evasive, and dismissive. Own 2 business' for over 30 years. Have never encountered such a person who will not even let you talk. Just talks over you and doesn't listen at all. If they were in Texas, I would permanently bar them from all my business properties. Don't use unless you want extreme difficult people to deal with.
