Best Mexico Movers provides a better process and lower prices for our clients moving to and from Mexico. The founder, Chuck Bolotin, started the company when he and his wife wanted to move to Mexico but were very unhappy with the choices. As a result, he analyzed the entire industry, deconstructed it, and came up with a far superior model, all from scratch. Their first move was their own. After that, people started calling. As of 2025, the company has moved over 700 families to and from Mexico. We welcome you to browse our website to learn more. We have lots of free guides that will help you in your move, whether you use a moving company or not.

Best Move Experience Ever

My husband and I have made eight interstate and intrastate moves, and even with that history, Best Mexico Mover's guidance, experience and professionalism kept us from making the kind of mistakes that would have prevented our successful move.

In every conversation my husband and I had with Chuck Bolotin, the owner of Best Mexico Movers, he demonstrated his knowledge, integrity and sincere goal of providing a good move experience. This carried through with every person on the BMM moving team. Laura Daniela, our Personal Moving Assistant, gave us guidance for all of the steps and rules for a move to Mexico. Her detailed task list and guide included due dates and clear explanations of the How and Why for every step. And despite so many variables, the April planning checklist even included the exact date in July that our household goods were delivered.

All of the BMM team members were professional, and patiently shared their expertise in packing, insurance and Mexico moves, including guidance to help us avoid losses that would cause insurance claims. Even the Phoenix consulate representative who approved our Menaje de Casa complimented BMM on the professionalism of the paperwork they prepared.

Excellent from start to finish

Excellent from start to finish. 1 week door to door delivery from Denver to Mexico City at a fraction of what the larger national / International firms charged (and those firms quoted us 6-8 weeks delivery). Chuck pulled the curtain back and gave us a a lot of knowledge on how moves like these work. Had a dedicated person that helped us from the very start to the very end, including a check in two weeks after the delivery to make sure we were satisfied. A great team to work with, they made this huge international move extremely easy and stress free.

Exceptional Experience Moving Everything to MX

I had a last-minute and somewhat complicated move of my two bedroom home of expensive furniture and extensive art collection in Naples, FL to Ajijic, Jalisco, MX. Every member of the whole team at Best Mexico Movers was exceptionally competent, communicative and a pleasure to work with. Special kudos to Ariel, my Personal Moving Assistant, and great appreciation to everyone who did such a good job for me. I highly recommend Best Mexico Movers!

The team provided a successful move

The whole team provided excellent knowledge, preparation, and execution of our moving experience from Michigan to Queretaro. The team had great handoffs between each of the moving steps and their respective expertise. Even though I have moved many times before in other regions, I was so appreciative of the country-specific knowledge that Best Mexico Movers brought to this move.

Nice Try, Chuck

Nice Try, Chuck
Wow, I was going to let Steven handle this, but after seeing Chuck’s response, I can't stay quiet.
Regarding the video footage, this is now the fourth time you are offering to show a video that supposedly exonerates you—why haven't you just sent it already? As for filing an insurance claim, clear evidence of crushed, heavy-duty boxes combined with photos of the truck's interior telling the whole story through skid marks, filthy boxes, and obviously thrown-in cargo that slid across the floor should be more than enough to warrant immediate compensation without forcing us through a tedious, months-long bureaucratic maze.
Furthermore, we are hardly wrong to assume you will contest a claim citing "Packed by Owner," seeing as every step of the way you have meticulously laid the groundwork to escape financial liability by blaming the customer while entirely ignoring your own admitted loading errors. And speaking of your numbers, it is amusing how your experience keeps inflating—first you said 500 moves, then 700, and now over 1,000. It is also quite rich that you are trying to blame everything on mysterious bad hombres south of the border—who apparently ransacked the truck only to thoughtfully place an official security seal on it when they were done, right? Give me a break. Meanwhile, the actual unprofessional trans-load and failure to secure the cargo were executed right there on the US side in Laredo.
Given the obvious mishandling of our belongings, your failure to properly trans-load our cargo, and the fact that you loaded everything onto an enormous truck for tight CDMX streets despite explicitly promising the smallest truck necessary—for all your desperate deflection tactics: We call BS.

UPDATE / REBUTTAL TO OWNER'S RESPONSE
This edit is a direct rebuttal to Chuck’s reply below, in which he distorts the facts to evade responsibility for our damaged delivery.
Chuck, calling me "Oscar" right out of the gate sets the exact tone for how little attention you pay to details.
Regarding the video and photos you withheld for weeks: you claim we "ignored" your offer, but the day after delivery, Steven explicitly wrote to you: "If this video contains the vital context you claim, why haven't you sent it? ...send it immediately so I can see what your driver filmed." Now you've finally sent it, smugly claiming it's "smoking gun" proof while publicly blaming "hoodied" men—leaning on a disgraceful "bad hombres" trope to deflect from your own logistics. As a native Mexican, I am deeply offended that a business profiting off my country’s name eagerly resorts to xenophobic fearmongering about unseen border thugs the moment cargo is damaged. The reality? Your video shows no one entering the truck, let alone in a hoodie, and your photo is just a close-up of a door seal. It proves nothing.
You also question why we haven't filed an insurance claim. We made clear early on that our items hold deep sentimental value, which insurance doesn't cover. More importantly, your fine print reveals a trap: because we packed our own boxes, your "Total Loss Only" policy automatically excludes individual damage claims. Demanding we file a claim guaranteed to be denied isn't a solution—it's a bureaucratic dodge to waste our time.
You promised to handle our belongings with care and trans-load them onto a proper small truck for CDMX streets. Instead, when pictures of crushed boxes rolled in, you immediately blamed our packing. That ignores the fact that packing home goods for travel has been part of our professional lives for decades as commercial photographers; we are exemplary packers. Writing that you're "sorry we interpreted your empathy as fake" means nothing when your actions—finger-pointing, withholding evidence, and hiding behind disclaimers—show zero accountability.
Future clients take note: this business model is designed to offload liability onto third-party sub-contractors and customs crews the second damage occurs. By leaning on excuses rather than professional integrity, you prove this failure runs far deeper than a single logistical mishap.

Antwort von Best Mexico Movers

Hi, Oscar.

Like I wrote to Steven in an email after we tried twice to be helpful (and now a third time here), I tried my best. I can’t see any legitimate reason why you will not follow the procedure for making a claim. You haven’t even started one.

As far as how many clients we’ve moved, I just checked. It’s 1,008. The reason it changes is because we keep getting more clients.

The reason I had not sent the video and pictures of the stop before is because when I asked if you wanted to see it, you ignored me and attacked us on other subjects. To finish my part, I just emailed both of you the video of your inspection, complete with time and date stamps. Now. you have it. It's exactly as we described.

We have done our best for you and Steven, but it appears pretty clear to me that you and Steven at this point have no interest in working together in good faith to come to a satisfactory conclusion. I wish we it were otherwise.

If you change your mind, please contact us. At this point, we would still try to help you.

Beware

NOTE TO READERS: Don’t be fooled by the sudden surge of 5-star reviews posted days after mine. It is no coincidence that nearly half of this company's lifetime positive reviews appeared within a 96-hour window right after my verified post went live. Look at the dates and judge the timing for yourself.

Beware: Shoddy Loading, Deflections, and Total Lack of Accountability
Moving from Chicago to Mexico City was a nightmare. When my shipment arrived, a massive portion of my belongings—including heavy-duty wardrobe and book boxes—was crushed and structurally destroyed due to sheer negligence.
Instead of taking professional responsibility, management's post-delivery playbook is pure gaslighting:
Admitted Loading Failures: In writing, management explicitly admitted their crew failed to use safety straps at the top back of the truck ("Should they have used straps at the back? Yes, they should have. This was their error.") and ignored the extra cargo straps I provided.
Blame-Shifting: When confronted with crushed boxes, they tried to blame me ("Packed by Owner"). Heavy-duty boxes don't cave in from packing flaws; they collapse because improperly secured cargo violently shifts and crashes down on them.
Contradictory Stories: They tried to spin a wild tale about a rogue, un-uniformed "hoodied" individual stopping the truck, completely contradicting their own employee's text message stating the Navy inspected the truck and reported "no issues."
Hollow Empathy: They open with flowery paragraphs about how "we are all humans," but the moment you push for accountability and financial resolution for their acknowledged negligence, that "empathy" vanishes into defensive corporate deflection.
If you want your belongings to arrive intact and a company that stands by its work, do not use them. Save your money, your sanity, and your possessions.

Antwort von Best Mexico Movers

Hi, Steven.

I am sorry that you interpreted our responses to you as gaslighting. I assure you that our communications were sincere.

Regarding our “contradictory stories”, they are not wild or contradictory at all and I can assure you that the three people who communicated with you from our company are not all lying while we can’t get our story straight. There is no way we could have built our business and our reputation if we lied to people and we couldn’t keep the same staff with zero turnover for year after year if we did that.

Everyone did our best to communicate what we knew when we knew it. Why? Because we believe our clients have a right to know what is happening with their shipment. Your shipment getting inspected on the road is extremely unusual, but it does happen in Mexico, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. Everyone (the driver, the customs broker, our staff) gets a bit nervous when it happens because we don’t want there to be any problems, for everyone’s sake, including yours.

What we know is that your shipment was stopped on the road and your shipment was gone through in a rough way. As far as who did it, no one had ever heard of them, so at first, your personal assistant just stated that they were some entity that would be the most likely. “No issues” meant that the truck was allowed to continue. Could your assistant have been more specific? Yes, she could have, but the driver was a bit rattled and didn’t have the details; he just wanted to leave. Did it mean that the driver inspected your shipment after the inspection on the road? No, it did not, because for all sorts of reasons, when the inspection is done, the driver continues on immediately.

Were the ones doing the inspection “hoodied”? Yes, they were. I offered to show you what I believe is a time stamped video of them breaking the seal on your truck, but you did not take me up on my offer to send it to you. We still have that video. I don’t know why you didn’t want to see it. Just like I offered before, I can send it to you now, if you like.

We offered in every way we know how to help you. I am sorry that you interpreted what you call our “empathy” as fake. I assure you, it was not. Not from any of us. When something happens to our clients’ shipment, for any reason, within our control or not, we feel it. Do I mean that what we feel is the same as what you feel? Of course not, but we are very upset when something like this happens, because we are all on the same team and we all want our clients to know how we feel and to be happy.

I am sorry but neither we, nor anybody, can control if a truck is stopped and gone through in Mexico. In our almost 1,000 moves, this has happened about five times. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen. And when it happens, because the driver leaves immediately afterward and your shipment was to be delivered only hours later, we were trying to tell you what we knew or suspected at the time with what we knew at the time.

This was all done in good faith, but you weren’t interested in knowing this.

We are even at this point, willing to help you, to go above and beyond what is required in any even remotely reasonable way, just like we stated before, several times. Nothing has changed. You never even allowed us to start the process by filing an insurance claim. I don’t know why not. You have 45 days from the date of delivery to file it, so I believe you still have time. After you’ve filed your claim, we’ll look at the rest. That’s what we offered before but you rejected it at the time.

I will direct Andy to accept your call and to help, just like before. That is our obligation and we will do it, even after you wrote what you did. Please let him or me know if you are willing at this time to accept our help and at a minimum, just to get started, to start the claim. You’re entitled to do so, and we are still willing to help, just like before.

Best Mexico Movers is your best option!

I’m in the process of expatriating to La Paz, BCS and have recently received all of my belongings in excellent shape! For the sake of brevity, I’ll cut right to the issue: It would have been essentially impossible to handle this project on my own or with some ‘bargain’ assistance from another outfit. Chuck and Best Mexico Movers employees handled the process expertly from start to finish. They also worked through a very challenging situation involving changing reporting and administrative requirements made by Mexican authorities. As mentioned, I would not have been able to manage these circumstances on my own; Best Mexico Movers handled all of them, behind the scenes, flawlessly!

You need Chuck and Best Mexico Movers. You and your valuables (sentimental and otherwise) with thank you for it!

Best Regards,

Kelly Rhoads

We had a very good experience with Best Mexico Movers!!!

We had a very good experience with Best Mexico Movers. Chuck was thorough in explaining the process and was available to answer any questions, helping us to understand the rules and regulations for a move processing through Customs. Once we were ready to proceed, he and his staff took the time to explain the contract and procedures. Since we decided to do our own packing, the liaison walked us through the packing process and documentation of items. During loading process, we provided realtime photos to them to ensure a secure load with appropriate documentation. During transportation to the border we were able to track our shipment. The liaison advised that there would be daily updates on the shipment. There were a couple of lapses at times but when we reached out, updates where provided.

Initially we were going to pack our belongings and drive them via U-Haul to a border city and have Chuck's team take them through customs and on to Mexico City. Chuck provided us with an alternative to pack the household items and load them on a semi-truck in a suburb close to us. The truck would then later pick up other items but eventually arrive in the border city with our items never having been moved since we loaded them. The cost was generally close to what we would have paid anyway to take the items ourselves, not to mention the headache of driving through Texas in the heat of the summer, and then take a flight back to Chicago, where we lived. What a savings of time, energy and headaches he saved us! Chuck knows and understands this business.

Movers from Mexico City that delivered and moved our belongings were very professional and efficient. It took them about an hour and one half to move everything and part of that was because the building elevator is small. Don't forget to tip your movers!!! We didn't move several rooms of furniture but what we did move meant a lot to us and helped with the transition to a new country. Use Best Mexico Movers, as we believe they are best, and what you pay to move your belongings, you will get back in peace of mind!

My biggest pleasant surprise, after depressing high moving quotes, was a local company with another base in Tucson, called BEST MEXICO MOVERS, with owner Chuck Bolotin. He specializes in cross border moves between Mexico and the USA. My Realtor and friends had recommended two local moving companies, one was very professional and friendly, the other didn't reply in spite of my two office visits. Both quoted over 20,000 pesos for an already packed truck from Tucson to Chapala.
When I called Chuck, he was so personable and calmed me down in minutes. His quotes were done so clear and practical in a three column spread sheet where you could choose which scenario you liked best.
Another great experience was, he didn't rush me to get the money together, which was less than half of the others. He simply emailed "whenever you are ready, we are here for you". It took me several months and he kept the same price for me.
The execution was flawless. He corresponded with the ranch owner where I had my truck and arranged a seamless transition of transferring my goods into his truck and arrived punctually at my door in Chapala, to the hour! In spite a hiccup on the border because I forgot to list my ancient VHS/TV. His team took care of that too.
Unloading was as stress-free and with no damages whatsoever. During those 5 days of transit Chuck and his team kept me posted in the nicest way.
I would say, the move was almost fun! So rare that a company takes all your headaches away and does what they say. I am so impressed. I highly recommend this company for your moves between the USA and Mexico and back.
Thank you again, Chuck and team;)
There is also a youtube interview out there to put a face to his name
