delivered a day earlier than i expected and the boards were all good, no damage, great service

Ordered sleepers for back garden. Exactly as expected and good quality. A small delivery charge was included, which I was happy to pay, unfortunately they were delivered slightly later than expected and is reflected in my rating. Overall very happy with purchase and service from Beatsons.

I gave instructions for where I wanted the items left and they weren’t followed.

Brilliant experience, third visit and would definitely return. Very friendly and efficient staff. Great prices. The staff outside are so helpful too. Great local business.

Paul the salesperson went above and beyond to help me after I realised the wood I ordered wouldn’t fit in my car. I will definitely be back and Paul should receive I wage rise with people like him in the business it will only get stronger.

Ordered a couple of paving slabs (600x900). On the day of delivery, I had a delivery note put through the door, but outside no slabs, and nothing on the delivery note to say where they were. Tried to call the driver - went to voicemail. Called the office and someone told me where he had left them - too far away from the house for me. I couldn't even lift one, let alone carry them both that far, and then up some stones steps. Called back and was told it was none of his concern really!! I had to have them collect them as no way as a 4ft 9 female I could do anything with them. The driver said the steps were block by a car - total lie as it's residential parking and everyone has their space either side of the steps! The steps are never blocked. Then they had the cheek not to refund me the £20 delivery fee. They were not 'delivered' they were abandoned in a spot that suited the lazy driver. Will never ever use them again or recommend. Need a company that have men strong enough to do what is required to get the goods to their destination and Customer Service who care if they are doing a good job or not!

The service was great , everything was explained well and any questions were answered well . Very friendly staff , great job 👍

Great product. Price was ok and I ordered early enough for next day delivery and paid £7 for delivery. But I didn’t get it next day and reading other reviews I’m not the first. I’d have ordered elsewhere and saved myself the postage had I known

I recieved an email at approx 2pm on day of delivery to say it would now be the following day, no apologies just it will be next day. I would have expected delivery to be at least early(ish ) next day but it arrived 5:45pm.
Delivery driver excellent, can’t fault however I don’t think much of the way you just reschedule deliveries without as much as a sorry.

I loved the service and the delivery person from Orchard Timber Forfar was excellent.
The produce however fence slats were very poor the majority was acceptable but a lot of the planks were badly finished and not good.

I ordered a cast iron down pipe. Very happy with the service and price. Also, the delivery driver for Beatons / Orchard Timber was fantastic. Very much appreciated his tenacity and politeness when delivering. What a nice guy. A real asset to your company!

I’ve ordered and FULLY PAID for a Webb lawnmower ten days ago from Beatsons and have heard nothing since . The minimum expectation was that I would get an aproximate delivery day. Meantime with intermittent sun and rain my grass grows ever higher and I still have no idea when to expect delivery.

The driver brought the aggregate bag and delivered it in the position I suggested. No drama!
The delivery was delayed by one day due to a truck breakdown, but this was not a problem for me.

Normally have good experiences with beatsons, but not this time.

Placed an order on 26th of April, as I needed it for the 1st of May. Got a confirmation of delivery for 30th April, perfect.

4pm rolls around and no delivery, give them a call to be told I'll get a phone back. They call back and say somehow the paperwork went missing from my order in the morning so it was never loaded. Told they'd get it out to me on the Friday, around midday.

I write this at 1.30pm and still no order. Spoke to them and the person I spoke to said it was scheduled as an afternoon delivery and they hadn't realised it should have been here already.

The worst part, no one seemed bothered by the fact that incompetence was delaying other people's work, just a case of "oh well". Not even the decency to offer a refund of the delivery fee as way of apology.

Think I'll stick to other suppliers going forward.

Oh and as for the staff, they honestly couldn't care about their screw up and take no accountability for it. 2pm and it's still not even our for delivery.

Spoken to like im the one being unreasonable in this situation.

As someone has already commented, BEATSONS CANNOT BE BEATEN. Lucky to have them in Penicuik.
