Solid watch. Mine has been consistently keeping time within 3 sec/day. The lume on both the indices and the bezel is simply amazing. Try finding another watch with the features and high quality of the Axios Ironclad; you will find a much higher purchase price. I find no flaws in the watch, I am happily with my purchase, and I would highly recommend Axios to others.

Great experience! Before I ordered I was in contact with them by email and they always responded promptly. The shipment of the watch was very quick and even-though the watch had a malfunction a few days after receiving it, they were very quick to send me a shipping label so I could return it to them and they sent me a replacement watch immediately. All in all they did very good!

Just excellent. The watches are fantastic (so good that I bought two). Quick delivery, good communications. I’d definitely recommend and will probably purchase from again in the future.

Shipping to the U.S. was fast. I now have two Ironclads and they're solid, well built watches. Legibility is outstanding and the bracelet is very comfortable. I personally like the classic design. There's a lot to like about the Ironclad and you really have to see one in person to appreciate the small details.

My IRONCLAD 40 "OCEAN GULF" is a beauty - quality workmanship. The price-performance ratio is in my opinion exceptional. I'm a very proud owner. Highly recommended!

It must be a really good watch.
It felt like something in every way.
It is a watch that makes people around me curious.
It is rare that my choice has hit well like this.

The watch is very high quality and the Emerald Night version is also very beautiful. I’m experiencing 2-3 seconds/day—amazing for a mechanical watch.

While this 40mm watch wears more comfortably than my 43-44 mm diameter watches, in darkness this also means it’s more difficult for my 63 year-old eyes to read the hands. Of course, that’s my issue, rather than the watch’s problem per se.

The big disappointment for me was the hour and minute hands. The good news is they’ve been treated with Superluminova C3 X1. The bad news is that—apparently the consequence of a misguided (in my opinion) effort at aesthetics—only about 50% of their surface receive the luminous application.

This unfortunate feature significantly degrades nighttime legibility—especially for "older" eyes. Moreover, the 50% of the hands’ surface area without Superluminova is unpainted and thus highly reflective—resulting in a "dazzle" effect which reduces daytime legibility—even for young eyes.

This could have been my "go to" watch, but for those unfortunate hands. From my perspective, a "real" watch is necessarily designed to easily render the time at a glance under all conditions. Because hey, I want an eminently practical watch, rather than a showy bracelet that also displays time as a secondary consideration. The Ironclad ALMOST met my expectations.

Maybe it’s possible (although perhaps not practicable) to replace these hands with some that are actually designed for easy legibility under all conditions. Then I’d be happy to award the Ironclad with the 5 stars I feel it otherwise merits.

A good effort by Axios and an adequate watch for some, but I hope in future offerings they never sacrifice a single iota (whatever an "iota?" may be) of performance for aesthetics.

I realize not everyone wants exactly the same from their watch, and a designer is never going to successfully make everyone fully satisfied.

The Ironclad arrived in good time and in good shape. The watch itself is beautifully constructed with finest materials. At 40mm it is right on the edge of being small for me but I can just pull it off. Would love an Axios model at 42mm but I am, overall, very satisfied.
