Purchased a turbo from this company

Purchased a turbo from this company, sent my old unit off as part of the exchange and all good, the garage fit it when they had time and first go it was faulty, correspondence went on for weeks, to the point warranty was up, the only paperwork I got I was asked to have stamped by garage and send back, then they said to me I can’t return without it but they can proceed with invoice. They refused to deal with the mechanic and said they would only speak to me as a customer, then told me the invoice dates didn’t match up so the part was not from them! I am £900 down in parts and labour, have no car so taken time off work, school run etc, might as well have threw £900 out the window! Do not use them they clearly have loopholes and are very clever

PUBLIC WARNING: [Company Name] -Atom Carparts Turbo Scam

I want to warn everyone to be extremely careful with this company. My experience has been a complete nightmare, costing me more than three thanthousands pounds.

Here is a timeline of what happened with my Range Rover Sport 3.6 TDV8 2010:

1. Initial Purchase (14th Oct 2023): I bought two turbos from them.
2. First Failure: After fitting, both turbos were faulty. The company refused responsibility, blaming my mechanic's fitting skills.
3. Second Purchase (Their Suggestion): Foolishly, I trusted them and bought a third turbo from them. This one was also faulty upon fitting.
4. Independent Expert Inspection: I took the car to a specialist, "Best Turbo Specialists," who charged £60 for a full report. Their professional verdict: both turbos were faulty.
5. Company's Dishonest Response: When I provided the report, the company falsely claimed my warranty was void because I used a third-party inspector. This is a lie designed to avoid responsibility. They also asked for a "warranty card" they never provided.
6. Proof of Their Faulty Products: I then bought a turbo from a local supplier. It was fitted and works perfectly, proving there was never an issue with my car or the fitting—only with the turbos from this company.
7. Final Attempt & Refusal: I sent the faulty turbos back to them for inspection last week. As expected, they denied fault and refused a refund. And saying that i have to collect it with in 14 days otherwise they will dispose off.How person can collect from any city they are completely joke.

My car is now running perfectly with a turbo from a different supplier, which proves this company sells defective products and uses deceptive practices to avoid refunds.

My Advice:

· Avoid this company at all costs.
· They sell faulty parts.
· They blame mechanics to avoid warranty claims.
· They lie about warranty terms and documentation.

My Action:
I have already spoken to Trading Standards and am now preparing to take them to the small claims court to recover all of my money:the cost of the three faulty turbos, the fitting costs, and the inspection fee.

Thank you for reading. Please share to prevent others from being scammed.

What to Do Next (Your Action Plan)

You are doing the right thing. Here are the steps to strengthen your case for court:

1. Gather All Evidence: Create a file with:
· Copies of all invoices and receipts (purchases, fitting, inspection).
· The official report from Best Turbo Specialists. This is your key evidence.
· A timeline of all events (like the one above).
· Screenshots of all emails, text messages, and any written communication.
· A record of all phone calls (dates, times, who you spoke to, what was said).
2. Formal Letter Before Action: Before going to court, you must send a "Letter Before Action." This is a formal letter stating:
· Exactly what you want (a full refund of all costs).
· A reasonable deadline for them to pay (usually 14 days).
· That you will file a claim in the small claims court (Money Claim Online - MCOL) if they do not pay.
· Send this letter by recorded delivery so you have proof they received it.
3. Money Claim Online (MCOL): If they ignore the letter or refuse to pay, use the UK Government's MCOL service. It's an online court process designed for claims like yours. It's straightforward and doesn't usually require a lawyer.

You have a very strong case. The independent report and the fact that a locally-sourced turbo works perfectly are overwhelming evidence in your favour.

Good luck getting your money back

❌ Do not use this company for any…

❌ Do not use this company for any turbos. ❌

I had my turbo fitted by a fully competent garage, complete with an oil change and all the brand-new supply pipes as required under their so-called warranty. Within just 4 miles of driving, the turbo failed. Instead of honouring their warranty, they instantly shifted the blame onto me and only offered a measly 50% refund.

This is absolutely unacceptable. If it was truly an issue on my side, explain how I was able to source a replacement turbo from another supplier, fitted under the exact same conditions, with no problems whatsoever.

The fact is, this company will not stand behind their products. They will happily take your money, but the moment something goes wrong, you’ll be left with the blame and half your money gone.

⚠️ 100% avoid this company. Save yourself the stress, the expense, and the dishonesty.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. 30 years as a garage owner and one of the worst suppliers i've come across.

This company actively refuse to talk to their customers when support needed. Instead you get mainly irrelevant messages that seemed to be copy and pasted or translated from another language.

Bought new Ford oil pipes as recommended. Fitted to engine. Oil leaked from between union and pipe. Was told new Ford pipe must be faulty. So bought another. Guess what, oil still leaking.

Inspected threads in turbo. Obviously not right - certainly not re-cut during reconditioning.

Bought another recon. turbo elsewhere. Fitted perfectly. No oil leaks.

Returned turbo as faulty. Was charged £65 for cleaning as it had oil on it!!!!!!!

AVOID! USELESS CUSTOMER SUPPORT! REFUSED FULL REFUND ON POORLY RECONDITIONED PRODUCT!

One star because i couldn't give none.
