We had an amazing 6h tour of Darjeeling and surroundings with Sangay. We discovered so many things we would have never found out ourselves, including amazing food. I especially liked that we had a real mountaineer as our guide and I could ask all my questions about that. We also learnt so much about life in North India and Tibet. We went with our 7-year-old, and she enjoyed it too. Sangay was able to adapt to us perfectly, so it was exactly the right level of adventure and lots of fun. Highly recommended!

Subash was an amazing guide. Even with bad weather we were able to see everything and enjoy every part of the day, with anecdotes and interesting facts, and also his contagious happiness! The tour is very full of different experiences, and also some places that you would never find alone. The day flew by very quickly, and we were all truly satisfied by every aspect of it. And in the end the best surprise, a panoramic hike with the best view ever! Highly recommended!

We did the tiger hill sunrise and day hike! Awesome experience and unbelievable views. The guides were great, funny and experienced. The office was very helpful as we had to change the days due to sickness. We really enjoyed and highly recommend the tour with Ashmita Trek and Tour

In April 2024 we - a mature couple from Denmark - did the Trek to Goechala in Sikkim. We chose Ashmita Trek & Tours as our operator and were absolutely satisfied with our choice from day one to the end of the trek.

Our crew consisted of a super good and experienced guide Sangay, a cook and “horseman” looking after 6 heads of dso, pack animals. A good humored and happy team. Thanks!

Trekking to high altitudes above 4500 m we found it both very responsible and comforting to have a scheduled restday at an altitude at about 4000 m in Dzongri camp in order to acclimatize and to avoid altitude sickness. And consequently, we did not have any signs of altitude sickness.

Ashmita Trek & Tours’s set up worked perfectly and we felt spoilt all along: Warm bottle in the sleeping bag, morning tea and wash bawl at the tent entrance in the morning, afternoon tea with delicious snacks with it in the afternoon after walking – many small and comforting gestures. We were amazed by the number of well tasting and varied meals our good cook conjured in the corner of the tent with only one stove at hand.

The trek passed through different climate zones and changed from beautiful, lush and abundant greenery to spars high altitude vegetation. The crescendo was the stunning, magnificent views at Geochala View point at 4640 m: Mount Kanchenjunga surrounded by other snowcapped mountains at early sunrise, glaciers, a wild and completely untouched moraine landscape – cold, barren, truly original … mind blowing!

We would love to have Ashmita Trek & Tours organize another tour for us some day.

Our family of 5 just completed the 4 day Sandakphu trek. Subash was very accommodating and helped us find the trek that best fit our traveling schedule. He communicated well and assisted with logistics in lodging and transportation beyond just the trek. He met with us ahead of time to carefully go over the schedule and give us tips on how to best prepare, including foods to avoid, things to take along, etc. Our guide, Pemba, was very friendly and made sure we had what we needed. He never seemed impatient when we asked hundreds of questions or stopped to take innumerable pictures. He took great care of us and was fun to be around. Our hosts were friendly and knew what foreigners preferences were. The authentic, local cuisine was a highlight. If Pemba knew we especially liked a certain dish he made sure to ask for it again. Overall it was a great experience and we definitely would recommend Ashmita Trek & Tours!

Their arrangement and service were excellent so I could enjoy whole itineraries with joy and excitement.

Great experience, 6 day trek Singalila with Ashmita, couldn’t be happier about the trek. Guide Rupesh was the best! Beautiful weather and mesmerizing views, I was blown away by the beauty of this place. Great variety of terrain. Locals are super hospitable, so many beautiful and warm smiles! I had a terrific weekend touring Darjeeling with Kiran Rai as guide and Dipu Lepcha as driver. We packed a lot of sights into a short period of time but they managed things smoothly so it never felt rushed. Kiran was extremely knowledgeable about everything and gave me a lot to learn and think about throughout the weekend, as we discussed the background of the Tibetan monastery, Buddhism, the tea industry, the politics of the hill country within the state of West Bengal, as well as history of the region from the British Raj to independence to the present day. Dipu did an amazing job driving amidst difficult traffic in Bagdogra and the mountain road to Darjeeling.

Great day hike with Sangay (guide) from Dhotrey to Tonglu (3000m). We left at 6am and were back in Darjeeling around 4pm. Initial walk through forest and then climbs up steeply towards Tonglu in the end. Hike is easy assuming you are fit. Sangay was very patient and did not push our pace. Coming down to Manyabhanjang was much steeper incline. Breakfast and lunch were included and offered at small guest houses on the way. Food was great. Highly recommend Ashmita trek and Sangay.

Unforgettable experience, (Trekk: 3days, 2nights - Tonglu & Sandakphu) for a magnificent panorama of the Himalayas as well as an experience of life in the middle of the mountains in the middle of nowhere. A big thank you to my guide Rupesh who was of unparalleled sympathy and professionalism, in addition he made me videos and photos during my trekk in order to have unforgettable memories. The Sandakphu 2 days trip with 4W drive is a great experience. The road was amazing and it has been an adventure, even if it was not a trek. And the sunset and sunrise views of Kanchendjunga and Everest family will stay in our brains forever. Our guide Pemba perfectly knows the park and the mountains and has been so kind and helpful.

We completed the 11 day Goechela trek on 20.11.23. Ashmita were fantastic from start to finish. The owner Subash was always available to speak to us - ready to answer all questions and to give us a clear idea of what we should expect from our trip. We had a fantastic team on the trek itself, led by our guide Sangay. He is an experienced mountaineer able to plan our days with great skill, finding the most beautiful spots to pitch our tent at each of our stops, providing clear advice about how to manage and minimise the effects of the high altitude. Our cook DB created three delicious and varied meals every day. The whole team was friendly and a joy to spend time with. It is altogether a wonderful trip - the hard trekking is rewarded by stunning views of the mountains over many days. We were lucky to have beautiful clear blue skies each day.

Ashmita Trek was great to work with in building a customized itinerary for our group. They where responsive and set us up with everything we needed. Our guide Pemba and sherpa phurba made our Trek amazing. They took care of all of the logistics, provide us with detailed information each day about what we expect, and ensured our safety. We went on a 4 night hike from Darjeeling to Sandakphu in 2017 for our honeymoon. Note that I couldn't put the accurate date due to an issue with the Trust Pilot system. This was such an amazing adventure, expertly organised. Our local guide was a kind, gentle and supportive. I would highly recommend this agency for any tour in the area.

This was one of the best hikes that I've taken. Ashmita is a very professional and organized company. They are not only efficient, but also very compassionate and personable. I plan to return in the fall and schedule another hike through this company. FYI , I recommend a guide named Tenzin. he was a guide as well as a teacher.
