Sizes are incorrect, product fades rapidly

I bought a rug listed as 8'x10'. When it arrived, it seemed very small. I measured and it was 7.5' x 9.5'. I complained, they said "we round up in size" which seems ridiculous - rounding up from 7'10" to 8' is reasonable, misrepresenting the rugs size by a full six inches on both sides is false advertising.

They were willing to exchange it (but only after denying it was and issue and after I complained about the ethics of them overstating the size by 3 square feet) and I decided to keep the original for use elsewhere and purchase a second larger. It was out of stock, and there were delays but I was never notified about them until I contacted them after the expected shipping date. It finally arrived, and unlike the first one, it has been fading so rapidly. They advertise these as being good for high traffic areas, but all of the colours on the open areas of my second rug have faded to beige in a matter of six months.

When I contacted them about this and showed them photos of the difference between the second rug and my first rug (which was in the same place for the same amount of time), they claimed that they couldn't do anything because "it had been delivered for more than five months". Five months is an awfully arbitrary number to set as a limit for manufacturing issues, especially when it's not listed anywhere on the website. Something tells me that if I complained after four months, that limit would magically be three months.

Edit: Artiplanto seems to think that adding 6" is the listed size of their rugs same as rounding up when it's just a way to skimp on materials and still pretend you're offering the same product. It's not like people depend on accurate sizes to be able to order items correctly.

Secondly, no amount of washing or vacuuming should result in this level of fading after six months. I've had Walmart rugs that didn't fade this badly after years of traffic and multiple deep cleanings. Artiplanto's product is inferior and does not stand up to regular traffic, much less high traffic. And for anyone wondering, I was offered a $50 gift card after purchasing approximately $600 between two rugs. Does that seem like a reasonable solution for a $390 rug that looks terrible after half a year?

Hello Sarah! Thank you for your review. Each rug has a disclaimer stating that it has been rounded to the nearest foot. Due to the fact that it was advertised, it cannot be considered false advertising. This order was delivered in May of this year, which is over 5 months ago, so 5 months was mentioned. This was not an arbitrary number! The complaints of fading in our rugs are not common; of course, exceptions can be made based on each specific case. However, since it has been nearly half a year since the rug was delivered, we cannot assume responsibility for how and where it was placed that may have caused the problem. As a gesture of goodwill, we offered you a gift card. Take care!

Very poor quality product

Very poor quality product, cheap to look at and cheap to feel, if I'd paid full price I would have been extremely upset, but still not worth the half price I paid, was going to but more expensive plants but not now

I would give a zero if it was possible

I would give a zero if it was possible. Bought an indoor plant and maintained it per the guidelines. It completely fell to pieces after a short number of months. The arms / stems rusted and fell off. Went to the company in good faith to tell them what happened and they refused any kind of resolution because of time passed… it was < 9 months!! I’ll never shop here again!

Re response: an artificial plant that rusts and falls apart at the base after 9 months is DEFECTIVE.
Shockingly poor quality products and even worse customer service.
Checkout the other reviews on Trustpilot and avoid!

Hello there! Unfortunately the order was received on 24th November which is 9 months ago. You will find most stores have a 6 month warranty, which this had far exceeded. If you were to go back into a store after 9 months, they would also not be able to do something. Therefore I am afraid there was nothing that could be done in your case. Take care!

Excellent quality and well packaged

Excellent quality and well packaged. Some delay in delivery but customer services were most helpful in checking on whereabouts. The faux plants look excellent in situ and I am delighted with them.

I have bought two woven basket round plant holders from this company they are as nice and as fetching in real life as they are in there picture , bit pricey but well made and I beleave worth it .

Poor customer service with Artiplanto

We bought plants which were shipped from Germany to France. We were charged wrongly an extra €160 custom charge on delivery which we tried to claim back as it was an error and there are no custom taxes between EU states. After many attempts we were never reimbursed by Artiplanto.eu which was trying to blame the shipping company. But from a legal standpoint they were responsible being the seller and also they had made a clerical error in their export paperwork sent to the shippers. Artiplanto made no attempt in giving us some sort of credit note or goodwill, and we are now left with a great loss of money for something we didn’t owe. I feel Artiplanto customer service was poor as they interest was only their financial gains, not the customer’s interest and satisfaction. It made us feel very uncomfortable with any prospect of ordering more goods.

Our UPDATE following the negative response from Artiplanto.eu:
It was confirmed by both the shipper (FedEx) and our lawyer that the liability lies with the seller in this instance. “In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act, contracts are with the retailer or seller, and the responsibility lies with them”.
As we are not expecting any customer support from Artiplanto, we have given up with them and have moved forward to another supplier from which we are receiving the appropriate customer care and ethic. For us this case is now closed and we are putting this unfair loss behind doors to move forward with a company we can trust.

Hello Michel, We are sorry for this issue. We sent FedEx the correct paperwork in order for them to refund you. Megan has reached out to FedEx France multiple times and they did not respond. As the FedEx bill is in your name, you will need to contact them in relation to this, as they will only supply us as the company with limited information. In your case we have done everything we can, and have advised you that you will need to call FedEx directly to resolve the issue. We did not charge you so we will not refund you, we will however, provide any supporting documents to fedex, which we have already done. Take care!

UPDATE 1: We would just like to clarify that we have offered to supply all documents in order for fedex to reimburse you, fedex would not deal with us directly due to the bill being in your name, and it seems you didn't want to contact fedex further. If fedex was able to tell you the company is liable, is there a reason why they could not tell you why they were ignoring the documents sent in order to process the claim?

2nd failed advised delivery date

2nd failed advised delivery date. When contacted no explanation. No apology just shoved the blame on FedEx. FedEx informed me that nothing was sent to the originating FedEx depot. A label was raised but no product to match/ accompany it. Hence the delay. I requested Artiplanto to express the delivery but they replied in the negative.

I ordered a faux tree from them on Feb. 27. I’m now being told it won’t arrive until May at the earliest. A couple of weeks after I ordered it, I started following up with them over email about when I would be receiving it. Every time they told me there were delays on their end and it would be another 1-2 weeks. Every 1-2 weeks I followed up and every time I was told 1-2 more weeks.
Then on April 16 I finally got an email from them saying the shipment was on it’s way. I was hopeful. But when I still never received it I clicked the FedEx tracking link to find our the order was never shipped, they had just created a label (although the email from Artiplanto announces it very clearly that the “shipment is on the way”).
Eight days after no change in status from the shipping label being created, I called their customer service. That person not only confirmed that the order never shipped but that they hadn’t even yet received it from their supplier in China. So they didn’t even have the product but still sent me an email pretending it had shipped. I was told to wait “another 1-2 weeks” (now that is first half of May). Save yourself the frustration and use another company. Unclear if they’ll ever actually send the order. They don’t seem to care at all about their customer experience.
