Have used this shop a lot in the past, and always enjoyed excellent value and customer service.

This time around I bought a braided dog lead. £39, so not cheap. It began to unravel after a few uses. It wasn't mistreated. But since I'm not a rope maker, I can't put it together again.

A couple of annoying things:

1) at that price I'd expect better quality;

2) the lead hadn't as yet been reviewed, and their website was requesting reviews. I put TWO reviews on about it, detailing my pleasant, frequent purchasing experiences with Arthur Beale in the past, but pointing out that this dog lead was poor value for money. Neither review was published. So, they want reviews, but will reject negative ones, even if merited.

In which case I'm saying goodbye to Arthur Beale, and won't be buying anything from them again.

When Royal Mail caused a problem with the delivery of my order, the company went out of their way to resolve the issue and acted with integrity and the highest level of customer care. Definitely a company to trust.

Purchaser beware.
Last year I ordered the Erebus sweater. I thought it was fantastic and without doubt the best heavy sweater I had owned and probably the best I was likely to find.
I loved it so much I ordered another this year and was disappointed it had changed so much.
Most importantly it is 13% lighter and this combined with the longer body length and sleeve length has meant a thinner jumper with less tension on the stitching.
Annoyingly it also has a different neck fitting which is much wider. Only one of the illustrations showed a different neckline all the other illustrations showed a gentleman wearing one with the original neckline which is what I had glanced at on ordering believing it was going to be the same.
It also had finger holes in the sleeves and is longer in the body by about 7cms. both of which I would have liked to have seen mentioned in the ad. The wool was also some way off the ordered colour though I appreciate it's a natural product.
In conclusion it is a different garment to the one marketed under that name last year and this should be made apparent in the ad. Disappointed and felt mislead as it simply is not as good a sweater as the previous one sold under this name.

Fantastic customer service and products. The sizes may be confusing for some (or just me ;)) on the site but the team were helpful in clarifying. I purchased a boat smock, I am 5'8" and 40" chest and a medium was pefect for me and the garment itself is excellent. Hope this helps others, I would definitiely use AB again thanks guys.

I ordered the Berenberg jumper, which arrived pretty quickly. Sizing and quality are excellent. Swift and informative response after I contacted them for verification of something. Initially spotted them in a Facebook advert, but checked here before ordering. I'm very happy to recommend the company and their products.

I was expecting something good from Arthur Beale but I must say the quality is even better than I was expecting and the fit is amazingly good. I totally recommend them and in fact i will be getting another pullover so I can swap over and have more variety!

I ordered a Beerenberg pullover for my husband’s birthday . We were both delighted with the quality and quick delivery . However there was a slight flaw. I contacted customer services . As they have such high standards , a replacement was sent out immediately with a pre paid sticker to return the original .
My husband is extremely happy with the quality and I am extremely happy with the service . Highly recommend this company .

I have made three on-line purchases in recent months. I have had the best service you could ask for and great communication via email with the staff regarding parts of my order. The oiled wool pullovers are the best outdoor jumpers I have ever had, and I will likely not have to buy any more. The quality is that high.
On one order I received a dispatch email within an hour of purchase. My last order took them 1 1/2 hours!!!!! All my orders have arrived the next day.

With regard computer stock levels, they sit on the side of caution. One item (knot kit) was out of stock when I was going to order. It was still 'awaiting stock' when I ordered the next time. I purchased it anyway and thought I would wait. It arrived the next day! They told me that due to the number of component parts in the kit they make them to order so they do not actually 'hold them in stock'.

I have found this a very good shop for the quality of products and advice and communication from staff.

9 Days since the order of 3 In Stock items only to find one wasnt in stock but they'd already taken the payment prior to dispatch so had to refund part of the payment ... Spoke to them after 5 days when no dispatch emails and was assured the remaining items were in stock ... 3 days later it seems they werent and they were only just dispatching ... total lack of clarity on behalf of the retailer about availabilty of items on the website and when talking to them means you just cant trust anything they tell you. It appears In Stock doesnt necessarily mean in stock .....................
