I sold a light fixture on AptDeco. For starters, they took 70% of what it sold for! Crazy! But it was fragile and I didn't want to have to try to ship it. It was picked up on March 16 by the shippers. It was delivered to the buyer on March 19. Pretty good. BUT I didn't get my measly 30% from Apt Deco until April 21, 36 days after they took possession! Even then I only got paid because I pestered them with emails. Sellers beware.

Poor Communication, Poor Follow Through, Poor Delivery
I really wanted this to be a good experience, but it ended up being a mess.
I ordered a sofa from AptDeco expecting delivery within their stated 2 to 6 week window, and that did not happen. The delivery kept getting pushed back, communication was poor both from aptdeco and the delivery company they partner with, and I had to keep following up myself just to get updates. I was never given a reason for the delivery being pushed back.
I did not get the advertised 24hr hour advance notice on delivery date and time frame, but luckily my building was kind enough to make an exception and allow me to accept it. When the sofa finally arrived, it was dirty, stained, and missing the power cables, so I still can’t even confirm whether it works the way it was advertised. The delivery people stated they didn’t pack it another team did and they had no idea where the cables were or why it was so dirty. I was also told a professional cleaning would be arranged because of the condition it arrived in, and that has been another hassle to get handled.
To be fair, AptDeco did refund my delivery fee after i asked for it twice and offered to pay for professional cleaning (if they approved the quote I found) but I still don’t think resolution was sufficient. The overall experience was frustrating, poorly managed, and way more stressful than it should have been. I like the idea behind the company, but based on my experience, I’d be very cautious about referring it to my friends/family or myself from ordering from them.

I am beyond frustrated with the absolute lack of professionalism and accountability from AptDeco. During a recent sale, their pickup team was incredibly reckless with a vintage Century Furniture armoire from the 80s. Despite my repeated warnings, they completely destroyed the piece through rough handling.
To make matters worse, after damaging the item, the team tried to abandon the heavy piece in a public area and leave. I had to call their manager immediately to prevent them from driving off, as the storage facility would have charged me a $300 dumping fee for their negligence.
The entire experience has been a nightmare:
• Security Concerns: The delivery partners (Thomas) showed up at my building at nearly 9:00 PM without notice—unprofessional and unsafe.
• Zero Accountability: Despite having video and photographic evidence of the item’s condition before they arrived, AptDeco is trying to claim it was "damaged upon pickup." I saw them ruin it with my own eyes.
• Support Runaround: I am being bounced between different agents (Von, Alex, etc.) and their support phone line (646-586-9056) disconnects immediately when called.
AptDeco has done nothing to resolve my $160 payout for the damage they caused. Do not trust this company with your furniture or your property. I am currently filing formal complaints with the BBB, the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, and preparing for small claims court.

FALSE LISTING
I am writing to formally dispute the purchase of the couch received on 1/5/26. The item is significantly not as described, and the experience has been unacceptable for several reasons. The listing explicitly stated the couch came from a pet-free home. However, upon arrival, we found massive amounts of pet hair embedded between the cushions. As a household with severe allergies, this is a health hazard. We never would have purchased this item had the listing been accurate, and we are now forced to pay for immediate professional cleaning to make the home safe. Beyond the hygiene issues, the couch is definitely not in good condition. One seat shows significant thinning and wear not disclosed in the listing, and there are multiple scuffs across several seats. Furthermore, the entire piece is remarkably filthy and covered in heavy dust, which contradicts the expected quality of the purchase. This follows a very poor delivery experience. The shipment was delayed, and we were never notified of the initial delivery cancellation. This forced us to scramble regarding the removal of our old furniture, causing unnecessary stress and logistical costs that should have been avoided with proper communication. I have attached a screenshot of the original listing highlighting the "pet-free" claim. I will follow up with a second email containing detailed photos of the pet hair, scuffs, and structural wear. Given the professional cleaning costs, the misrepresentation of the listing, and the repeated service failures, I am seeking a significant partial refund. This credit should cover the cleaning fees and compensate for the stress and the discrepancy in the item's value. I look forward to your immediate confirmation that this dispute is being processed.
Pickup team ran away after seeing bed was too big for their truck
Sent a shady team to pick up my bed after a sale and two weeks of waiting for scheduling and COI. The pickup team seemed instantly uncomfortable, and it turned out it was because their truck was too small for the item. So instead of just saying that, they fabricated random issues about the piece, took pictures from underneath the bed of the standard Pottery Barn reinforcement glue and a small ding, calling the item quality into question, and then literally RAN AWAY. I've never seen anything like it. Buyer has now cancelled due to delay. Zero stars if I could.

They gave me two hours’ notice for pickup — not the 24 hours they promise. I still accommodated them. They collected my media console on August 26 and didn’t pay me until October 18. Nearly two months of chasing them down for what I was owed.
Every message was met with a new excuse or empty assurance. Their customer service is nonexistent, their communication is pathetic, and their operations are a mess.
AptDeco is the definition of unprofessional, disorganized, and dishonest. Do yourself a favor — sell elsewhere and spare yourself the aggravation.
Beware of AptDeco & Executive Distribution
Beware. Do not buy or sell through them. I wish I’d followed my guy and trusted the reviews. On top of that, their “ White Glove Delivery partner, Executive Distribution” headquartered in SC, is a complete scam. “John Thompson” at Executive will give you every excuse under the sun as to why your item hasn’t been received. I’ve had to involve my bank to start an investigation and refund my money, I filed a police report in South Carolina even though this is a civil matter, I’ve written as many reviews as I can possibly write and lastly reported both companies to BBB and Consumer Fraud. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with buying online.

Awful experience with these people. Totally unprofessional and unresponsive. Their pick up service has promised three times to pick up my items and have canceled as many times. I have no confidence that this sale will go through. If I were the buyer, I’d be even more pissed off!

Horrible experience for sellers and unbelievably high prices for buyers. They charge sellers a 70% commission (unbelievable), so as a buyer, you are paying for the website and not the item you are buying.
When I contacted customer service about their trade program, they ghosted me for 4 months and literally didn't even know I submitted a request.
Overall, pretty bad customer service.
Nightmare experience as a seller
Bad experience as a seller. The listing was pretty easy, they didn't do any of the "enhancement" as they advertised other than adding the west elm website picture (I already provided link in my listing), but I put in the work to make sure my pictures and description were well crafted so the item was sold the day after it was listed.
From there - nightmare. After I accepted the sale, they sent me the "scheduled pick up window" (the week after sale) and the delivery partner's contact info. Nothing happened during that window. I sent multiple emails to both AptDeco and the delivery partner and got delayed and mixed messages about expected pick up timing. At the end, the AptDeco help email basically said there's nothing they can do about the pick up timing and they don't have any more information than I do because it's completely up to the carrier and they'll contact me 24-48hrs prior. So now 3+weeks after the sale, I still have no idea when/if anyone is coming to pick it up. I also live in a pretty strict condo building, the 24-48hrs notice is simply too short for me to schedule with the building.
Fwiw AptDeco is charging me 60% of the sale price as their commission and on top of that they're passing the shipping fee to the buyer. If they have zero control over the delivery "partners" and cannot respond my emails in a timely fashion, what exactly am I paying the 60% fee for? I was hoping for a seamless process and more than willing to pay the fee for it, but clearly AptDeco just wants the fee and do nothing.
Now I don't have time to wait so have put the item up on Facebook marketplace, it was sold in 2hrs at a higher price. I wish I did this in the first place.

I purchased a rug which straight up had a hole in it when it was delivered. Because I waited until I had gotten rid of the old one before I unrolled the new one, I missed the return window. The company would not help me, and simply suggested that I SELL THE RUG TO SOMEONE ELSE. Sorry - not going to screw someone like I got screwed. That's not the person I am. But my advice is AVOID THIS COMPANY.

I have sold several pieces of living room furniture on AptDeco and the experience has always been great. After you take photos of your items, the listing process is easy and intuitive, and if you need help, customer support is an email away and is really responsive, helpful and friendly. The pick-up crew is super nice, and payouts are quick after the buyer confirms delivery. I highly recommend AptDeco!

AptDeco's shippers broke off the legs of the table I had sold after they put it in the truck. They are not responding to requests for information re: their responsibility for the damage, nor do I have the option of removing my info from their website.
I will never use them again and would recommend you stay away as well.
Absolute scam of a website
Absolute scam of a website. Item was delivered and the dimensions didn't match the seller's listing. AptDeco refused to give me a refund because 48 hours had passed since the item was delivered. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE ANY UNDER CIRCUMSTANCE!
Terrible Customer Experience
Paid $250 for a used dresser, discovered one of the drawers was completely broken (NOT disclosed in product listing) and they offered me a $30 discount, $60 when I pushed back. The website promises that the delivery team inspects the item to assure it matches the listing, but this is clearly not true and they do not help you get a fair refund from the buyer. Don't bother with this site.

I purchased an expensive coffee table which I assumed was in like new condition. I had no notice of delivery until a day or so before when I was on vacation. The driver informed me he was in the area and coming back was a problem. I could have told them to come back, but I was accommodating and made arrangements for someone to let the delivery person in while I was away. When I got home a week later, I noticed two long symmetrical structural cracks down both sides of the top of the table. This table was cracking - a $2000 marble table. I wrote immediately to aptdeco and they informed me it was too late to file a claim, they are not interested in hearing more and never replied to me again. I got screwed out of $2k and there is absolutely no recourse. The seller Williams and Sonoma on aptdeco did not even bother to reply to my messages. Once they dump an item and get the cash, they forget you exist and if they do reply it is to tactfully tell you to fk off.
