Customer service is terrible. Randomly reactive your account charging you a bunch of money and surprise billing fees end up suspiciously in your email junk folder when all their other emails show up in your inbox. All their customer service tries to do is force you into more subscriptions you don’t want. Zero effort to find solutions for their customers. Go with a different DNA company.
I spent all this money
I spent all this money. Cannot download my DNA results. Not sure why. Not sure where to get help and now I am supposed to do the process all over again????????? Need help.

I expected more connections, but these are the same as those that I got from My Heritage
Disappointed…
When I received my initial package with my sample tube, I entered the code given and received an error message. I tried the online help options, which were not helpful. I phoned the help line and got some good advice, which helped me figure out the problem on my own.
The ancestry page which was supposed to give me the free mailing sticker was not operational, so I paid the postage myself.
When I received my results, I was unable to log into my account to retrieve them. I tried resetting the password, but since the number was sent to the email on the same device, I could'nt retrieve it without navigating away from the page. There is a way to do this but I don't know how.
I then inadvertently deleted all the Ancestry information.

Please resend my information to the email you have on file, and send my password reset to another email, which I will supply, so I can look at it on a separate device!!
Frustrated
Very hard web site to move around on and to figure out. I spent very long time talking with assistant and got nowhere and no questions answered. Any additional information you want they get you by having to sign up for additional memberships. Very frustrating I'm finding it especially when you don't have family names given to you because you were adopted.

Tutorial?
New to Ancestry, your website is NOT user-friendly. I joined simply to find relatives on my father’s side but navigating to that point was a 20 minute happy accident as I was working my way through tabs etc. Perhaps an optional tutorial is possible.

Years ago I purchased ($110.00 at the time) a CD to install the data collection program on my computer. Works great. I gathered info from family members, documents etc. keyed it all in - very happy with what I ended up with. So then I found out, that ALL the information I gathered - I input - they now have and charge all you new subscribers to access it. I did the work - they make a profit from it! I did not agree to have them share MY information and hard work - never mind making money from it!
Price reduction sales while still waiting for results
This test does take awhile to be received and processed I understand that, however I do feel bothered that it took so long to be processed and just before my results were in a Mother’s Day sale was announced with a significant price reduction as to what I paid for and was still waiting for result

No refunds, no customer service. Be very careful.
Account cancellation didn't work, so they happily kept charging me. Once I realized, they refused to refund my money even though I hadn't been using the service.
The amazing thing is that when you cancel, the website form asks why you're cancelling and one of the drop-down options is "cancelled previously, but was billed." So they KNOW this happens often, but they don't care.
When I contacted customer service, they offered me a discounted future plan. So instead of getting a refund, they gave me the opportunity to pay MORE. Thanks for nothing.
