If I could give zero stars- I would.
Leaking roof in bathroom has been reported 6 weeks ago. When it rains bath cannot be used- dirty water is dripping straight on us.
Water is getting into the ceiling light.
Ceiling and walls are covered in mould.
I have send numerous emails and contacted agency via telephone call. Alexander &co doesn't take our health and safety seriously. They don't care about our physical and emotional health.
Last week I was assured by staff member,that roofers will get in touch to book repairs. We have heard this few times already- and as expected there was no contact since last email few days ago.
If anyone is interested, I have records of all email and telephone conversations,pictures. Issue was reported on 13.09.2021 and today is 25.10.2021.
I would advise anyone not to rent accommodation from Alexander&co.

Alexander and Co (Norwich branch) need to familiarise themselves with the Tenant Fees Act 2019. They rented my young relative a property with known current rat infestation, only admitting to this in passing some weeks after the paperwork was signed. Now efforts to extricate from this insanitary housing are being met with a barrage of financial demands. It seems to me that this branch, at least, are enjoying opportunistically, the abundance of young, inexperienced students in this 2 university town

Hands down the worst letting agency I have ever had the misfortune to engage - so do yourself a favour and avoid them. Let me elaborate - we rented due to convenience and to live in nice homes with appropriate upkeep, - and our previous landlords/letting agents fulfilled this with aplomb. This was never the case at any stage of this tenancy with any of the incarnations of the Bannisters/Alexander letting agent.

Friendly enough staff showing you round the property, but as soon as the contract is signed, they become slow and uncommunicative bordering on dismissive. This friendly engaging behaviour surfaced again at contract renewal time! During our initial walk around at the property we noticed a few minor issues, we flagged them with the agent present at the time, who advised they would get them sorted. Perhaps we should have known there were going to be issues when the items ‘agreed’ with the agents were not acknowledged or completed before we moved in. For example, the property was not letting level cleaned - superficial kitchen clean, dirty carpets and the garden was totally unkempt (to name the major requests). We also asked for some basic redecoration tasks that were ignored which were definitely previous occupier 'wear' despite information that the property had been fully decorated.

Reporting faults while we were tenants was easy (and there are/were many), getting a reply and something done about them not so much. The agency blamed an uncommunicative landlord but never seemed to be able to show any details or offer a rectification route to resolve faults. There was very little update as to fault progressions or changes and all but the most essential faults (which still required chasing).

We tried to reconcile our issues and arranged a meeting with them for discussions - but despite what seemed like a sympathetic ear at the time their previous form shone through and normal ‘service’ was resumed shortly thereafter with no updates on our concerns. We even viewed different properties with them, but the level of the properties was not commensurate to the rental price. So we started looking for a new home as soon as we realised this was an exercise in futility and the experience has now pushed us to purchase our own home.

They seem more concerned about image rather than the service they provide to tenants and this is reflected in their apparent lack of customer engagement, which ultimately degrades their reputation further.

My advice -Keep your tenants informed of who their property manager is, especially if it changes every few months. Fix the slow responses (if any to emails). Fault progress is not updated and is mostly ignored, make the fault progress transparent. When repairs were arranged there were two occasions where they carried out work that was not agreed – don’t do this. Try not to lose sets of keys this is embarrassing.

My opinion – do solid research. Get everything in writing an don’t proceed until you have it. Finally - don’t rent from them there are much better agencies just a stones throw away.

Seemed friendly and knowledge at first, but so thirsty for business they have little regard for customer service.

Please AVOID, poor service, poor sales progression, Poor communication, poor negotiation.

Moving is stressful enough, we had an Estate agent on our driveway asking our movers when we are leaving whilst we were packing -even within the agreed time of vacating.

Alexander also provided the keys to our buyers before we had vacated the property causing us additional stress and conflict.

Awful and slippery! Never, ever again!

We just moved into our new home with the amazing help of Alexander & co estate agents. Finn, Angela, Hannah and the whole team were great and made the stressful process easier with their hard work, advice and just being a phone call away.

Please avoid using this Estate agent. They are bunch of ignorant people who do not know what they are doing. We had a guy called Mark who showed us the Property we bought. Surely when showing around he should've done his homework and checked everything with the seller first. When showing us the property he hardly knew where anything was and said to us a few things were included in the property which we have later found out were not part of the sale. These items were part of the things that attracted us to the property. having spoken to the seller they advised the agents specifically knew these things were not included in the sale. When we had a little hiccup with our mortgage Mark was very ignorant and refused to help in speaking to the seller and quite abruptly said 'we can easily put the property back on the market'. He does not deserve to be in this role as he is not customer friendly. Estate agents should be smart and helpful and he was neither.

Daughter was trying to rent a property from them, they couldn't be less helpful and miserable (Bicester office) ... the landlord had agreed a date, she signed her copy of the agreement, went through all the references, I was guarantor ..we both had to supply work contract, 3 payslips, reference from work and a credit check (more than I had to for mortgage) ... 4 days before date to move in the landlord apparently had changed his mind, they dud nothing to help us... the day they told us they were still asking for confidential information (he had informed them the day before)... I understand that people change there minds but all references were fine but no explanation, they had an attitude of couldn't caring less, dreadful process...daughter is devastated .. they all knew she was splitting up from her partner and needed this house in the village so the kids could remain at the school ... I will take up a formal complaint but it won't change anything these sort if folk really do give letting agents a bad name!!!

I'd absolutely not recommend that you sign a contract with these people. I've had an extremely poor experience. They literally did nothing for me other than provide the rental contract. To top it up, at the end of the tenancy they are playing games with the deposit. Left the most bitter taste.

Zach was very helpful, attentive, and quick to organise moving into my new house. Despite the recent pandemic the turnover was very fast, handled all within social distancing and I was informed of all information and changes the whole time. Would recommend Alexander & Co and Zach to many others, fantastic service!

Thank you to Mark, Julia and Gary for making our house sale problem free. Even Covid19 didn't stop them from providing excellent help and advice. Mark and Julia were superb on the Sales side whilst Gary really did help with problems during the legal processing. Thanks to them we are happily in our new home and our old house has a new owner.

We choose the estate agent last October, after getting the house putting the deposit down that was when the problems started. The estate agent refuses to reply to calls, emails and any contact, they have barely sorted resolved any issues that are there responsibility out. Full of false promises, incompetence, data breach and just not worth the hassle.
