Unprofessional quotation service
I'm sorry to say I can't agree with the other reviews on here, due to what I feel was an unprofessional service.
The initial discussions were fine, and Dan came out to discuss the work I needed, My loft is partially converted but needs a lot of of additional work, so although not a full conversion was not a small job. Dan was polite when he came out and promised me a quote within the week after speaking to his building surveyor about the legal requirements/regulations for the room.
As I didn't receive anything I chased after 10 days, and received no response at all to my chasing message. I then chased again to receive a quite blunt message to say we have been offered bigger jobs so are not going to quote. This was over a month after Dan's visit.
Whilst I appreciate they may prefer bigger jobs, my job was not small, and would have been a few thousand in price. However, it is only polite and professional to let a customer know if you don't intend to quote/carry out the work.
I took time off work to be in for the initial visit, and have now wasted that time, the two weeks till Dan could visit, and a month waiting for a quote, to have made no progress whatsoever and am back at square one.
If you don't want the work, don't say you will quote, or at least let the customer know so they aren't hanging on wasting time.
Very disappointed and frustrated.
Thanks for your response but I do feel some of it is misleading. Yes I did ask about additional items, which incidentally I had mentioned in the intial call. And Dan was actually happy to quote for both the window and the loft conversion work. I was fine that he said you wouldn't be interested in the kitchen work, so that was not mentioned, or relevant, to my review.
Regarding the inital visit, it was not out of hours, and was in working hours, and you do state that you offer an inital free consultation, so you did nothing more than you normally offer. And my review clearly mentions I was happy with the initial service and visit.
My dissatistaction was with the lack of quote provision, after Dan agreed to do this for both the loft conversion work and the wooden window, with no mention that this might not be an option if you got "bigger jobs", and with the lack of follow up. Yes, my follow up was by whatsapp, but does it matter through which medium? The point is I shouldn't have had to follow up, and when I did I didn't receive any response to my first follow up, although it had clearly been read. I feel that my time was wasted unecessarily.
Dan said he would quote, and then you decided not to, which is your right, but my frustration is that I was kept hanging on and not informed. A simple timely message or phone call from you would have been polite and professional, and I still feel the eventual whatsapp message, was quite blunt and the explanation was simply that you had received bigger jobs - I can also evidence the message.
I fully appreciate the importance of reviews, but the whole point of them is to reflect customer expereince to allow other customers to be aware. Mine was honest and factual, if you look at other reviews I have posted I am always keen to give positive reviews where the service has reflected this, and do so. My experience with yourselves after the initial visit was not positive so my review reflects both the positive and negative aspects of my experience, as does the star rating, and I feel is fair based on my experience with you.
