I first used them in 1991 to put the roof on my house, I used them again in 2004 to make my second house wind and water tight. Who else would I call when I decided to build a ‘garden pod.’ Fantastic service!

As a small business that was sub-contracted out to build a house locally all I can say is stay as far away from ACJ as possible. They seem to go after small independent businesses and blames others for faults that stem from their own disorganisation from delays in production to materials Not appearing onsite !! They are rude, petty and unprofessional and will find any reason justified or not to withhold payment without the customers knowledge...... stay away from this company.... many many complaints regarding ACJ from various small businesses in my area.
The deluge of new and positive reviews makes me very suspicious as to their credibility, given the fact that they have all appeared so recently when the whole of Scotland/Uk have been on lockdown and so many other negative reviews are creeping to the surface.

On down sizing and purchasing a small plot with building permission we contacted A Cormack House Builders for a kit house. To be built to our requirements. Plans were drawn up by their design team which were agreed upon. We are pleased to say quality of materials and workmanship after sales service was first class and we are delighted with our new home and I say this having had experience in the building trade.

I have worked on a number of projects with ACJ Group in the last few years. I have found their technical staff to be very knowledgeable, experienced and professional. They pay attention to the details of the project and work to provide a practical solution. On top of that they are really good to work with, really friendly and approachable, and willing to answer all my questions.

We have known ACJ for many years and used them for a lot of our personal projects from shops and chip shop refurbishments, a new block of flats, post off conversion, and refurbishments including building our beautiful house build. We couldn’t have been more satisfied with the whole project from beginning to end. Throughout the project we felt involved in the continual decisions and ideas and felt we were able to contribute to the whole development of our home. We were promised a time scale at the start of the project and we were absolutely delighted that our home was ready for us to move in exactly on time. The quality of workmanship has more than stood the test of time and we are so delighted with the quality of our home. We would highly recommend ACJ and indeed are looking forward to collaborating with them again on our next build project.

After a promising start, things started turning ugly. A simple, uncomplicated bungalow build took over a year when it was supposed to take a few months. Tradesmen were either not paid or underpaid. When we asked for snagging work to be completed our requests were ignored and are still being ignored. When we continued to press them to do their duty by us they threatened us with legal action for harassment.
Recorded delivery letters went ignored and they refuse to speak to us on the phone.
ACJ have received many other negative reviews in the past, to which they respond with very aggressive bully boy tactics, threatening legal action. Many victims are then cowed into removing their honest but less than flattering reviews.

The plethora of new and positive reviews makes me very suspicious as to their veracity, given the fact they have all appeared so recently when the entire building trade in Scotland was shut down.

We already had plans for our new build house before approaching ACJ. They provided a reasonable quote for full build services in a timely manner. Our plans have been taken through to achieving building warrant approval, dealing with various issues in the process. We have chosen ACJs 'Therm-u-wall' high performance timber frame product which should provide a higher quality and more energy efficient building. We now look forward to progressing through the build stage.

We liked the drawings shown online although we wanted to design our own build. We instructed them for Architectural Services and Planning Approval. We were delighted with the service provided and the time taken with us to reach our final design. They did all the preparation for applying for Planning permission which was approved. We can recommend them for these services with pleasure.

I have dealt with ACJ for many years and have always been very pleased with the work they have done for me..would highly recommend.

Having found our perfect site back in summer 2017 we invited several local firms to submit rough plans and cost estimates to build us a three-bedroom bespoke house that made the most of the stunning views. ACJ were the only ones that managed to fulfil our design brief whilst at the same time keeping the estimate for the build within our overall budget.

Their design was elegant and clever, and took account of exactly what we asked of them. Now that the house is built we are absolutely delighted with the way it makes the most of light and views to offer an outstanding home. Throughout the build process ACJ kept in regular contact with us relating to the various stages of the process, and whenever the inevitable snags were hit, we managed to work a way through them together.

Although unforeseen ground conditions meant there was a slight overrun on the build price, it was still significantly below what it would probably have been from other providers, and we couldn't be happier with the home we have now.

Giving 1 star because I have to. Beware and stay away from this company!! Absolutely shocking!! Still having issues with them. I would be happy to share information and correspondence with anyone so you know what you will be dealing with.

Working from home we needed to find a little extra space and the garden was the obvious place. Having done plenty of research and looking nationwide at garden room/office suppliers we came across this local company. They created the space we needed within our budget, but the aftercare is awful and with hindsight I'd rather have paid more for a better quality product and service.
Sadly, before we found out how bad they really were I recommended someone else check them out for a small job they needed. A couple of weeks work took over 18 months and was never actually fully completed by them. Whilst the workmen were fine, the management were nothing short of rude and abusive (to their customers and staff). I have a lot of correspondence I'd happily share with anyone considering using them so you know what you'll be dealing with. I'd highly recommend going somewhere else!
