Purchased long-term care insurance for my partner and myself through AboveBoard, at the recommendation of my (fiduciary) financial advisor.

They provided highly personalized service and spent a long time answering our questions. They helped us identify the appropriate level of coverage and in navigating the lengthy application process, under pressure to hit a tight cut-off for the year.

I have come to realize that the vast majority of financial "advisors" are at best pricey middlemen and at worst a scam, and in the Internet age are unnecessary for a knowledgable DIY'er. However, AboveBoard is a fine exception to this, their fiduciary-like no commission approach is refreshing. I didn't feel they were just pushing me towards what got them the most kickbacks, and they helped navigate what is a complex product with long-term implications where their expert advice gives me peace of mind I have made the right decision for a product that I may not need for many decades.

The advice and assistance I received was a true value-add to the process, and the price I paid was better than I was able to get quoted directly from similar companies. I would highly recommend their services!
