We have Wild Silk in Sandstorm, which was advertised as suitable for a living room and being stain resistant. It really isn’t. After just a year it has gone really flat in areas of high traffic, there are everyday stains which I can’t remove with a Vax carpet cleaner or store products. It also seems to trap dust and dirt, it is visibly grubby where it’s exposed to the light. We are a shoes off household, it’s hoovered at least twice per week and has been fully washed about 3 times in 7 months. It’s not even in our main living room and we don’t have an open fire in the house or stove or anything like that. It’s a new barn conversion with all new flooring and this carpet has been by far the worst and most expensive.

Got in touch with Abingdon who sent someone out and said it was to be expected. It will need replaced in the next year or so.

They promote stain free carpet. But when you make a claim they come up with many excuses to get out of it.
Only just received Warranty Booklet from Abingdon.
Make sure you read the warranty booklet before you are suckered in. The carpet shop, Bogans, we bought the carpet from didn’t give us any booklets or maintenance guides nothing apart from the sales pitch of you clean your carpet with bleach and it’ll be fine. Lies.

The carpet material is OK. The colour is completely different to what was presented to us. There was no interest to help when I raised this. Their support service wasted our time with pointless, poorly written emails, written with the intention to frustrate us and give up.... they won.

Do not fall for the lifetime stain guarantee for Abingdon carpets. I have a year old carpet with a water stain on it. They first said it wasn’t covered, because they only cover spot spillages, when challenged that it doesn’t state this anywhere on their website or stain warranty booklet, they now say they mainly cover only food and drink spillages. Very misleading advertising to sell an expensive carpet.
