First ever appointment. Three times I tried explaining the reason of my visit only for me by my fifth word to be cut off & spoken over by the vet stopping my conversation. I again tried two more times only for the same thing to happen leaving me shutdown and silent due to feeling very annoyed and upset. The last thing I said to the vet after him getting everything wrong was telling him “ why don’t he look on the system & read my dogs notes!?” Vet then went into explaining how to clean a dogs ear in great detail (unsure why?) and then ended the appointment where me & my dog paid and left without Any advice for his red rash inside his ear or advice on should my dog be put back on medication or even help applying ear drops that I brought myself to help his ear condition!
Tried to make another appointment to get what I should of received on the first appointment and I was told outright that no vet will see my dog unless I pay again even when I phoned days before to explain what service I received and me & my dog receiving no advice or treatment or help. Now I have to make a complaint to head office forcing me and my dog to look for another vet to get him help.
So far my dog has not had any help or support leaving him in his condition and myself worried upset and out of pocket regarding being charged money. This was my first ever appointment!

Well where do i start Rico our Belgium Mallinois had got stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction so the swelling began in his throat admitted overnight we were expecting the abscess to be drained as we had asked numerous times picked him up was in a worser state the following day the abscess burst and was bleeding rushed him back nurse came to my car hot day and left us in the car park for over an hour eventually seen by the vet and put on antibiotics and cleaned the area the next 2 days Rico ended up with 3 holes in his neck so came back and they operated saying it was a grass seed which got in while at home due to open wound came back 2 days later after taking him home with stitches and a bucket stitches removed and this is where we kicked off for negligence had to go to another vets as they had left some stitches in so we had mediation as they refused to speak or see us and offered us £500 refund from a £2000 bill they never listened to us about the abscess or did anything we suggested we have had dogs for over 20 years, so we took our 10 dogs to a independent vets because they kept insisting it was a grass seed no it was not we took the bee sting out the grass got in due to open wound as they said he was fine to carry on,note we have 3 acres of field so this is where the grass seed got in but they clearly refused to listen to us and said we are not welcome at there vets again after years of going there as if we would return with our dogs the trust as gone so whoever goes there be very careful with your beloved pets because they simply do not care

I actually fostered a kitten from them about 9 years ago and she's 10 years old now. They even saved her life for me when she became extremely unwell. Yes it cost quite a bit. But I never put a price on my fur babies as they mean the world to me. However, just recently I applied to have my deceased partners cat put on there health plan as he's 10 years old. I was refused the health plan due to cancelling a direct debit over 5 years ago when i lost rubin in a car accident.i was informed to contact there Abergavenny branch to have this redicolous ban lifted and they refused. Ive done nothing wrong to be treated in such an appalling way. I now have to pay full price for everything there and then on the spot if I need anything for my cat be it yearly booster, flea and wormers, you name it. These are supposed to be people who care for pets. Its all money orientated. I am gob smacked I can be treated in such a way. I have disabilities and am ex forces. I suffer with ptsd. My cats are all I have now since my partner passed away last year. They mean the world to me and all I want is the best care for my fur babies. Very upset to be treated in such a way. That's the trouble with civilians these days. You'll be the first one they'll come running too if we were at war if your a soldier or a vet.
I guess I'm good for something in that aspect.

Update. Received letter saying i missed a few direct debit. And cancelled some. I already explained that one of my cats was killed in a car accident. Also my remaining cat was transfered to another vets locally to me as of moving address. When my partner died I moved into her address which put me local again to this vet's. Don't this vet's understand that people have things happen in their lives.
Regardless of what they say in a letter, I shouldn't be penalised for a situation that happened nearly 5 years ago.
Due to them refusing me a health plan for my deceased partners cat, they have made life extremely difficult for me.

Terrible experience. Visited Abbeyvets with my poodle puppy on 5th April 2025 and signed up to the pethealthclub.co.uk and paid the first payment of £22.99 which meant a renewal date of 5th April 2026.
On 15th April a 2nd payment of £22.99 was taken by way of Direct Debit.
In February 2026 I received an email saying the Pet Plan was due for renewal on 14th March 2026. I disputed the date and it was supposedly passed to thepethealthclub.co.uk for them to sort out.
On 5th March 2026 I visited Abbeyvets for a nail clip which is free under the pet plan.
On 24th March I received a demand for an 'outstanding debt' of £33.74 for the nail clip.
The nail clip was done 9 days before the renewal date of 14th March 2026 so should have been free.
In actual fact the pet plan should be valid until 4th April 2026.
To be fair they deleted the 'debt' when I phoned up to complain but it appears they have no clue when it comes to setting up these plans. It also seems that if you decide not to renew you'r kicked off the plan immediately.
During one of the visits when speaking to a vet I was given contradicting advice regarding worming and flea treatments.

No other reviews, says a lot doesn't it. Avoid this bunch of rip off charlatans would be my honest advice, much better vets around than this I'd say. A quite obviously profit focussed over everything else business. Rude and nothing good to be said about them.
