A Positive Workplace Until Management Changed
I genuinely enjoyed working at southampton Tenpin and met some amazing people during my time there. Many of my colleagues made my experience enjoyable, and I'm grateful for the friendships and memories I made.
Unfortunately, my experience changed significantly under the new management his name is Danny bean. From my perspective, I felt I was treated unfairly and racially bullied, and I didn't feel respected as a member of staff. When I left, I wasn't given the opportunity to say goodbye to the colleagues I'd worked alongside. I posted a farewell message in the staff group chat to thank everyone, but it was removed almost immediately and I was taken out of the group before I had the chance to say a proper goodbye. That was upsetting and made me feel as though my time there meant very little.
I'm disappointed that things ended the way they did because I truly valued the people I worked with. I hope the workplace can become one where staff feel respected, listened to, and treated fairly.

Laser tag party
Friendly staff, well looked after, everything set up nicely when we got there. They managed the whole process. Food arrived promptly and was good. Booking process was easy and was given lots of information, staff were helpful.
However there was no break between the laser tag sessions as promised in the itinery, second one started straight after the first had ended. The kids enjoyed the laser tag but my husband was left in there to supervise with no member of staff. Would have been good if the laser game had a bit more structure, for example if they were given a base to defend or given a mission, nothing much was made of the scores either which was a shame.

Activity was fine (party), food was incredible slow. Ordered a pizza at 11.30. It took nearly an hour to arrive. Pretty poor for a basic frozen pizza

Overall soft play experience was positive. Lots to offer for all ages, we had 3 kids aged 2-10 and all had lots of fun.
Big negative is that we waited over 15 minutes for someone to let us in and you couldn’t let yourself out of the toddler area, which could mean a long wait if front desk was busy.
Otherwise, cheap price, clean equipment and always lots of fun.

The venue is good & the bowling & arcade but the food arrangements are dire! They couldn’t take orders properly, the food is terrible, they were very very late with food then forgot half of it. Do not bother eating there, it really takes the shine off which was extremely disappointing on our family day out

Staff and service
When waiting to claim prizes for tickets with our children we were repeatedly ignored and others were served in front of us as they were waiting to order drinks. We had spent money on bowling, food, drink and the arcade. It was pretty disappointing to be so obviously ignored by staff.

Broken mini golf course, disappointing escape rooms, and grumpy staff
We did the Prison Putt golf in Tenpin Southampton. On several of the holes, there were broken bits of tech, wires pulled out etc, and it didn’t work properly so we had to skip these holes. Also, our ball got eaten twice by the machines and we didn’t get it back when we were supposed to, so it was a pretty bad experience all in all. I can imagine the Prison Putt was pretty cool when it first opened, but now it just seems unloved and deteriorating, it’s a shame.
We also did one of the escape rooms and we had to wait 10 minutes after knocking on the door several times before anyone even came, at which point we had had to go and find someone. The escape room was poorly designed, with nice decor and theming, but puzzles that didn’t really make sense, and the staff weren’t really very into the story, so we didn’t feel particularly immersed in the theme.
Some of the staff at tenpin were helpful, but a lot of them were a bit moody, and made us feel like an inconvenience, and it was quite clear some of them didn’t really want to be there. A disappointing experience.
