Shocking experience
Shocking experience. Bought a polo for my son, cost £11.5k. Was sold with faulty clutch and unaligned breaks. The car keeps cutting out which means it is dangerous to drive, especially for a new driver. Sytner say there isn’t a problem when there clearly is. I have one very upset 17 year old who is still paying for a car he daren’t drive. AVOID

Failure to inspect a reported fault. Poor responsiveness.
We reported a fault with the transmission on my daughter's recently purchased used VW polo. This was from Sytner Select Nottingham. After driving for some time, the gears would not change at all, frequently causing traffic jams and hazardous situations. We were repeatedly told that technicians could not find a fault - but that they had only driven the car (we're not sure for how long), not actually inspected the clutch. When my own mechanic did a thorough inspection, he found the fault and ordered a replacement clutch and a replacement for a part that was leaking fluid into the gearbox. The service desk never seemed to answer their phones - I sat on hold repeatedly for hours and eventually had to take time out of work to go to Sytner Select in person, where I found that they were unfriendly to deal with. We felt completely brushed off and that our concerns were irrelevant. My daughter had to drive this car up to a new job in Leeds a week later - she was nervous about driving it, and we were too, knowing that it had a fault which Sytner seemed unwilling to inspect properly. We are angry that they were prepared to risk her safety in this way: the consequences could have been catastrophic. I have since tried to contact the company regarding our complaint and again I am getting no reply. Their invitation to use Whatsapp has produced nothing and we have not recieved the service documentation that was promised over a fortnight ago. Someone else on here has said that once you drive away, they want nothing to do with you. That is definitely how we feel at this point. Please could you at least employ more people to answer the phones?

Staff were polite and professional, the work carried out was very quick without compromising quality. Very pleased.
Repeat customer
I collected my new car today as a repeat customer, I was looking for a slightly bigger car (previously had a C3 bought from here) I went to the same sales person Ethan who was extremely helpful and recommended a Geely EX5. I ended up choosing a pre reg one and it’s lovely! I would recommend them to family and friends and will ask for them again when I go to buy a new car in the future!
A step change in car purchase
We simply cannot fault the service we received from both the sales person Matthew and the sales manager Adam. From arrival through to completion of purchase we feel our experience couldn’t have been any better. We would certainly recommend Sytner Select Nottingham for their professionalism, quality of stock and accommodating our needs.
Very poor service
I recently enquired about a vehicle and had plenty of correspondence with one of your sales team (Brayden) explaining my interest and finding out more about about the car. I explained my interest in viewing the car and arranged to see it on 14/6/26 where he informed me he was not in as it was his day off. He then said I could purchase an extended reservation fee of £500 which I was happy to pay on 10/06/26. On the 12/06/26 I was sent a text with the link to pay the reservation fee which I did @11:07 then I received confirmation @11:12. Then @14:21 Brayden emailed me informing me the same vehicle was reserved in-house on the same day. I am now £500 out of pocket and was told I had to wait nearly a week to receive my payment back. This is such poor service for a company like this. IF I COULD RATE 0 I WOULD.
Bit skeptical at first
Bit skeptical at first cause of the older reviews but went for it as I’d finally found the exact spec I was looking for. Kaleem was my salesman and he was top class from day one. There were no biases despite the fact I was 18 and buying a powerful car.
The salespeople could maybe be a bit more versed on the cars as they had to check a few details and phone back but I’m not surprised as they have loads in stock. Despite this, he was always eager to help and would get back to me really quickly.
MOT had less than 6 months so he’s speaking to my local BMW dealers now about the invoice and paying for it.

Mathew took the time to listen to my questions and answered them openly and honestly. He had a genuine interest in ensuring the car was suitable for my needs and certainly made me feel valued and respected.
I will have no hesitation in recommending Sytner Nottingham to my friends and family based on this experience.
