Horrible experience, terrible customer service, worst service I honestly have ever paid for. On top of that the customer service, if you can ever get in touch with them, are worthless and do absolutely nothing to help.

My original date of service for my lawn was over a month ago, the first guy was a no show, he never even reached out nor did he even reply to my message when I asked for an ETA. Then after reaching out to customer service they’ve continued pushing back the scheduled day for several weeks with no resolution nor any kind of compensation for the 5 times I’ve shuffled my work schedule around to be there on the date they said they would be there just for them to not show up and not even reach out to let me know they are not coming.

Save yourself the trauma and unnecessary stress, do NOT use Lawnstarter.

THE PROS THEY USE ARE SNEAKY AND TRY TO HUSTLE YOU FOR SIDE DEALS!! COMPANY CHARGE $93 INSTEAD OF $50 FOR WHAT THEY CALLED OVER GROWTH. WHEN PRO MARKED MY LAWN AS DONE, MY LAWN WAS VERY UNEVEN, EDGES WERE ATROCIOUS AND NO CLEAN UP WAS DONE!! I TEND TO THINK THAT BECAUSE THE PRO OFFERED ME A SIDE DEAL SO THAT LAWNSTARTER WOULDN'T CHARGE ME DOUBLE FOR OVER GROWTH AND I DECLINED IS WHY MY LAWN WAS SO CARELESSLY DONE! USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

If I could give a Zero I would! I was charged $250 and their so called lawn pro only came to my house twice but I was charged for at least 4 visits! They will cheat you! They will argue with you..that’s if you can actually speak to someone! Cutting my lawn 1 time and getting weeds around 1 side of my house and in my front flower bed took the man that did less than 30 mins and it was NOT worth the money! My lawn is not very big. They don’t have a good way of contacting them either! I wouldn’t recommend them if they were the last lawn service on the plant! Find some one local who honest because this company isn’t worth the arm & the leg they will charge you!

Every year I'm "assigned" a so called service "professional". The first 3 were okay, then I get assigned another pair. First day the guy is yelling and cursing at the other guy in my yard. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they seemed to do a decent job. I used lawnstarter for a quote to cut some trees down and it assigned me to him again. It was overpriced, but I still wanted a quote for overgrown brush in the backyard. He recommended to talk in person about the quote, he quoted me $70. I agreed, and actually paid $100 in cash to ensure a quality job upon completion. Due to Lawn Starter stupid 5 day policy, I cannot report or review their crappy job. They ran out of weed eater string, said they'd be right back, and never returned. I had been giving him a chance to make it right throughout those 5 days. My backyard is still not finished. You know who you are, congrats on making an extra $30 on my expense.Don't ever text about irrelevant questions or stop by my property un-announced ever again. Good riddance. Lawnstarter needs to change their 5 day policy. I have a paper trail proving all of this but every representative just re-states your stupid policy. Account deleted and never again will I use or recommend your crappy business.

Our lawn service just up and stopped coming to do our lawn.
We reached out to one company and all we got were excuses as to why they couldn’t make and when they finally showed up they berated me about how my lawn looked and then never came back.
I went online found LawnStarter and filled out the request, they called me within the hour and the same week I had someone show up, we walked the yard to show them what needed to be completed and they have been fantastic.
I highly recommend LawnStarter as they matched with the person I have now and if I ever need to change they will match me with another lawn service.

I like the ease of use in the app. Availability is always good. And the lawn service expert will let you know if they are running late or will have to reschedule ahead of time.

If there is an issue with any their services. Don't waste your time trying to contact them through the app, or their online live chat. They will all direct you to call a support number and not give you an email address so that you can write a formal complaint instead they gave me a fake e-mail address that isn't monitored.

Handyman did a great job

1. They advertise you get 19$ promotional rate. I did not get that , they claim my grass was. More than 9 in tall. Not true. It’s been very hot , grass not growing fast.
2. Not reliable. Their pro don’t come on scheduled date. I was in my car when pro came. They scanned my area then left. Don’t know why . You’ll be left hanging. They said they will look for another pro which will take another 48 hours , then they will charge you more because your grass is too long.
Don’t know why it matters if the grass is tall. As if the grass is 1 yr tall.
3. It’s better to directly. Deal with pro and not thru broker.

I didn't realize when I reached out to them that they are not actually a lawn company - they are a web service like Task Rabbit or Thumbtack but just for lawn care. However, unlike those services, they don't let you choose your provider. They just keep rotating through assignments until they get one that shows up.
Our first schedule didn't show and so they at the very end of the day (about 5:45 p.m.), they sent us a message that our provider was overscheduled and they would be out the next day. The next day we got a message that our provider had been updated to a different provider but no one showed up. Finally, on Sunday, someone came. The next week was the exact same thing. They are above top dollar for our area and not only does the service level not match, they ask for a TIP on top of it all - makes the total $25.00 more per week than any other quote we have received. We committed to 3 mows and then we will be moving on.

As reported earlier, Jonas is great. He regularly does a great job on our lawn and more recently trimmed some of our hedges to perfection. He’s friendly and listens close to my comments. He gets here on time and leaves the yard neater and cleaner than it was on arrival.
