I used Glover Priest for conveyancing on a flat purchase and I would not recommend them.
The communication throughout the process was poor, often being given conflicting information resulting in confusion and delays. Laura must be too busy to take on the amount of work she does. Her team would answer questions on her behalf, but unfortunately they were not involved and informed enough to give satisfactory responses.
It would take multiple attempts to speak to anyone on the phone (I learnt that if I requested a new quote they answered the phone immediately).
They assured me they were chasing the required information and documents from the management company and my lender; however, I found out they hadn't contacted them by phone until I requested that they do so.
When they sent me the official documents there were several typos, including an incorrect sale price. The whole process took 6 months, despite there being no chain, only minor complications, and with myself and the seller's solicitor always responding promptly.
Hayley took over from Laura during completion because of annual leave, and communication did improve at this stage.

We used Glover Priest for conveyancing of a sale and purchase for an elderly relative. The process was straight forward, we were kept informed and, when unreasonable requests were made by our buyer, clear and helpful advice was volunteered. I would recommend this firm for conveyancing.

I see many positive reviews for Glover Priest on this page. Unfortunately these reviewers have obviously never had the misfortune of having to deal with the Kings Heath branch.
What should have been a straightforward sale and purchase ended up being a months-long nightmare where I woke up dreading having to interact with Glover Priest (GP)
The staff at GP are only capable of forwarding emails, and causing problems. Anything else you might expect from a solicitor (legal advice; answering questions in a useful way; flagging and explaining risks or consequences; reading and interpreting searches) appears beyond them.
Our case was handled by Sophie Rostill, who is not a conveyancer, but a secretary. Our actual conveyancer was Emma Pulford who, for all I know, is a figment of Sophie’s imagination, because I never received a single email from her, never spoke to her on the phone, and never saw her in person (despite visiting the office). I have no evidence she supervised or engaged with our case in any way.
If Sophie had been good at her job, I wouldn’t have had a problem, but alas, this was not the case. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever come across someone so incompetent in a professional capacity.
To summarise a few of the ways GP jeopardised our sale and purchase, they:
• Completely messed up our purchase and sale statements, meaning we would have lost out on several thousand pounds had I not spotted the error. When I queried this, Sophie sent vague and unhelpful responses, meaning our broker had to get involved. To reiterate, this very nearly left us almost £3,000 out of pocket due to Sophie’s incompetence
• After this error was identified, Sophie messed up our purchase statement AGAIN. Unfortunately, this time her error was not discovered until after completion, meaning we had to pay several hundred pounds to our lender post-move to remedy this
• Commissioned an incorrect search and then charged us for the search
• Failed to negotiate indemnity policies with our purchaser so badly that our estate agent was forced to step in and negotiate with the buyer on our behalf.
• Failed to pass survey queries onto our seller, resulting in us having to communicate queries via their estate agent. Without their help, the sale would have fallen through
• Insisted on sending searches to our lender, implying this could result in our mortgage being pulled. We were then forwarded an email from our lender that said Sophie should not have sent them this information, and her doing so was against their guidelines
• Asked for excessive evidence regarding gifts months after all necessary documentation was approved by our lender. This put my family out of pocket obtaining documents and driving back and forth to Birmingham multiple times (over an hour’s drive each way). GP did admit fault in this instance and offered us a (frankly insufficient) £50 reduction in fees
I could go on, but sadly the character limit prevents me doing so.
This was on top of a general lack of communication, and inability to answer questions in a prompt or helpful way. In fact, Sophie’s default appears to be to reply to emails until you ask her a question that requires the slightest bit of knowledge or, frankly, thinking of any kind, and then completely ignore you.
GP’s inability to engage critically with anything, and the amount of errors throughout the process meant I had to read every document, email, and statement in infinitesimal detail and research numerous elements or seek advice from experts such as mortgage brokers to check if they were correct (they often weren’t). This became a part-time job and, as someone who is self-employed, lost me a significant amount of income.
I dread to think what I might not have caught, and the ways that GP have likely lost us time and money.
I have evidence of all of the above, and am considering a more formal complaint, however, currently, I’m too exhausted by the idea of ever having to think about or deal with Glover Priest ever again.

I instructed GloverPriest Solicitors on 15 October 2025 for the purchase of my property and unfortunately the experience has been extremely disappointing from the outset.
Communication has been poor throughout the transaction, with emails regularly ignored or responses delayed for extended periods. Rather than being “kept updated every step of the way” as advertised by the firm, I was left constantly chasing for updates and progress on my matter.
I also provided extensive documentation regarding my source of funds and AML requirements, yet continued to receive repeated requests for further information despite already supplying substantial evidence. This caused unnecessary delays and frustration.
What I found most concerning was the response when I raised a formal complaint. Instead of properly addressing the concerns regarding delays and service standards, I received what I considered to be an inappropriate warning email referring to the firm’s zero-tolerance policy, which I found offensive and intimidating simply for raising legitimate complaints as a client.
Overall, the level of professionalism, communication, and client care fell far below expectations. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm for conveyancing matters.

I felt that both Jack Howell and Jack Lee, ensured that our needs were top priority and felt that they were committed to achieving the best outcome for us.

A self styled property lawyer called Kellie has been acting for the buyers of our property. She was originally instructed in January and soon after that she was told that the developer of our new build property required exchange of contracts by 7 April. She has shown no sense of urgency at any stage and has made no effort to meet the 7 April deadline. As the date for exchange passed she was asking stupid questions about building regulations approval for 20 year old loft insulation installed by our predecessor’ predecessors, which unbeknown to Kellie did not require building regulations approval). She has also spent the last 10 days dithering over bifolding doors that were installed 13 years ago when our house was extended by our predecessors. Kellie has been uncommunicative throughout and has taken long periods of time to carry out very simple tasks. A new date for exchange of contracts has been set for 17 April but Kellie is making no effort to achieve that and has more or less told our conveyancer that she has no intention of doing so. If our purchase falls through we will be left out of pocket to the tune of several thousand pounds, her own clients will be left several hundred pounds out of pocket for their property survey (and will lose a very nice house) and our estate agents will not get paid. Kellie is, by a long way, the worst conveyancer I have ever come across. If our transaction falls through I shall report Glover Priest to the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority and if necessary take legal proceedings to recover our losses. If I could give her no stars I would.

Sophie handled our conveyancing excellently, helping us navigate the conveyancing for our latest buy to let.
The transaction was a little more complicated as Sophie needed to look deeper into the management agreement from the housing association to guide me on the suitability of the deal. My property purchase went through last month and we have already received our first payment.. great work!
