Experiencia pésima
Experiencia pésima. Al llegar a la oficina de la estación de tren de Florencia nos informan de que es obligatorio disponer de una tarjeta de crédito para recoger el vehículo, algo que no nos habían comunicado claramente durante la reserva.
Lo peor de todo fue la atención recibida por la empleada que nos atendió. Su actitud fue fría, poco profesional y completamente falta de empatía. Viajábamos con una niña de dos años y, aun viendo nuestra situación, no mostró ningún interés en ayudarnos ni en buscar una solución. Se limitó a decirnos que no era posible y a cancelar la reserva, sin ofrecernos alternativas ni explicarnos correctamente las opciones disponibles.
Mi pareja incluso contrató una tarjeta de crédito online, asumiendo un coste adicional para intentar resolver el problema, y aun así la empleada siguió poniendo trabas y cambiando los requisitos, indicándonos después que tampoco servía. Además, en ningún momento nos informó de que existía la posibilidad de cambiar el conductor principal, algo que podría haber evitado todo este problema.
La sensación que nos dejó fue de absoluta indiferencia hacia el cliente. Cuando una familia se encuentra en una situación complicada lejos de casa, lo mínimo que se espera es un trato amable y voluntad de ayudar, y aquí ocurrió exactamente lo contrario.
Quiero destacar, en contraste, la actitud del chico del mostrador de la empresa de al lado, que sin tener ninguna relación con nuestro problema se esforzó por ayudarnos, nos hizo de intérprete y mostró mucha más profesionalidad y humanidad que la persona que debía atendernos.
Lo barato sale caro. No recomiendo esta empresa en absoluto. La falta de información previa y, sobre todo, la pésima atención recibida hicieron que nuestra experiencia fuera realmente frustrante.

lamentamos las molestias sufridas en el momento de la recogida, especialmente teniendo en cuenta que viajaban con una niña pequeña.
Para la entrega del vehículo se requiere una tarjeta de crédito física a nombre del cliente, necesaria como garantía para el depósito, las franquicias, posibles extras y las obligaciones previstas en el contrato. Las tarjetas de débito, prepago, virtuales o instrumentos similares normalmente no se aceptan como garantía. Esta información se indica en los requisitos de recogida, en el voucher y en las condiciones comunicadas durante y después de la reserva, también a través de brokers.
Lamentamos además que la atención recibida haya sido percibida como fría y poco colaborativa. Incluso cuando no es posible proceder por falta de los requisitos necesarios, el cliente debe recibir explicaciones claras, cortesía e indicaciones sobre las posibles soluciones disponibles, cuando sean aplicables. Su comentario será tenido en cuenta para mejorar la comunicación y el apoyo en el mostrador.

Prezado Cliente,
lamentamos que o atendimento recebido não tenha sido percebido como claro e disponível.
Para o aluguel, é necessário apresentar a carteira de motorista original e válida, conforme previsto pelas condições exigidas para a formalização do contrato. Entendemos, porém, que essa informação deve ser explicada com paciência e clareza no balcão, e sentimos muito se isso não aconteceu.
Também tomamos nota da dificuldade em localizar o escritório dentro da estação de trem de Firenze, um ponto útil para melhorar as indicações fornecidas aos clientes.

Car Rental Review Autovia - Firenze-Stazione
Pricing:
Very fair and competitive prices, especially compared to Hertz, Avis, and other major rental companies.
Customer Service:
Friendly and helpful staff, but operating hours are limited. Do not expect assistance late at night, especially after closing hours.
ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) Warning:
The location is inside a ZTL (restricted traffic zone). If you’re not careful, you may receive a fine months later. Pay close attention to the return instructions to avoid ZTL penalties, or return the car after 8:00 pm when ZTL restrictions are inactive.
Car Pick‑Up Location:
The car pickup is on level -4 of the parking garage in front of the train station (Parcheggio Stazione Santa Maria Novella). It is not near the Autovia office, which is about a 5‑minute walk away. This can be inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage. I strongly recommend taking photos of all sides of the car at pickup.
Tolls:
Highway tolls are very easy to pay—just bring a credit card and enter lanes marked for cash/credit.
Driving Conditions:
Roads and highways are easy to navigate once you are outside the city.
Fuel Stations:
Many gas stations in Italy close around 8:00 pm, so be sure to refuel during daytime hours.
Car Return Process:
To return the car, enter Parcheggio Stazione Santa Maria Novella. No ticket is needed—license plates (Tags) are automatically recognized. Follow the small Autovia signs to level -4, park in the designated Autovia spaces, and drop the keys in the after-hours drop box. Note: the drop box is small and not clearly labeled, so look carefully.

Do not rent from Autovia unless you want to be charged for damage you didn't cause. I was charged €857 for a windshield "chip" that was already there when I picked up the car in Florence.
I have video evidence from the pickup date showing the exact same damage. Despite me formally stating "Cliente non accetta il Danno" (Customer does not accept the damage) on the return report and filing a manual Claim Form, they ignored my protest and unilaterally charged my credit card. This is an unfair and predatory business practice. I have already escalated this to ECC-Net and my credit card company for a chargeback. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Very poor customer service at counter when collecting car
The schedule to collect car is at 1730hrs, I reached the counter at 1645hrs, the counter staff told me that if I wanna collect at 1645, I had to pay 50 euro, but the rental of 3 days for the car is only 62 euro, if I declined to pay extra, then I had to be back at 1730, I felt it was ridiculous and no other customer in the counter then. So naturally I walked out and went back at 1735, he was entertaining another 2 customers, by the time he finished processing my order, it was almost 1830hrs, he seemed not familiar with the document processing also, took very long time to check my international driving permit, I was totally unhappy with his attitude and low efficiency. I had very positive experience with Autovia in Milano Centrale branch, but very negative with Florence statione branch, I hope Autovia would look into this case seriously, the staff represents company image, he should be professional enough to entertain customers from all nations and be flexible for collecting time (is 45 mins early is too early?). Basically this was the only negative experience for my 15-day Italian holiday.

We would like to clarify that, according to our rental procedures, vehicles can be handed over at the scheduled pickup time, unless an early release is available. When a customer arrives significantly earlier, it may happen that the cars are still being prepared, or that the vehicles already ready belong to higher categories, assigned to customers with earlier reservations or different rate plans. Vehicles are prepared in order of scheduled pick-up time to ensure that each customer receives the correct category and service quality.
In such cases, a surcharge may apply as indicated in our rental conditions.
That said, we sincerely apologize if the communication you received was not clear or did not reflect the level of courtesy and professionalism you rightfully expect from our staff.
We are also sorry for the additional waiting time when you returned at 17:35 and for the impression of low efficiency. Your feedback will be shared with the Florence branch so that internal checks can be carried out and proper support can be given to the team to improve the service.
We also appreciate your mention of your positive experience at our Milano Centrale branch — this confirms our daily commitment and motivates us to ensure the same standard across all locations.

La prenotazione è stata facile come pure le operazioni di ritiro. Personale gentilissimo. La vettura che mi era stata assegnata, subito all’accensione presentava un faro anteriore spento. Prontamente contattato l’ufficio, ho avuto la sostituzione con un’altra vettura, steso modello. Il problema era un falso contatto. La nuova vettura era in buone condizioni, solo sporca esternamente. Fastidiosa la perdita di tempo per andirivieni e sostituzione contratto. Meccanica e gomme ok. Restituzione semplicissima senza verifica, in quanto avevo sottoscritto polizza copertura totale. Suggerisco di portare con sé staffetta reggi cellulare, nel caso serva, in quanto la vettura ne è sprovvista.

Ci dispiace per il disagio iniziale legato al faro anteriore e per il tempo perso nella procedura di cambio auto e aggiornamento del contratto: comprendiamo perfettamente quanto queste situazioni possano risultare fastidiose, anche quando vengono risolte prontamente. Il suo feedback ci aiuta a migliorare ulteriormente i controlli preliminari, così da ridurre al minimo eventuali imprevisti al momento del ritiro.
Prendiamo volentieri nota anche del suo suggerimento riguardo al supporto per il cellulare: indicazioni come la sua sono preziose per valutare possibili miglioramenti nei prossimi allestimenti di flotta.

Hostile Foreign Business Entity
This organization actively commits fraud against foreign customers. I rented a vehicle which was littered with damage at pick-up. I took dozens of photos of the damage with time stamps prior to taking the vehicle. Yet, they still sent me a bill for the existing damage with grainy photos. I sent them my photos of the damage already existing at pickup and they did not care. They reference a clause in their contract that you have to go back into the building and reject the car. They are creating new invoices like one way trip charge and other basic rental fees months later they are sending to me as well and I did not even rent through them but a third party.
If you are from another country, they are just going to saddle all of the aggregated damage charges on you. They don't care if you send them photo and video from pickup proving it was existing. They will just write you an email and say, well its your responsibility to pay even if you have proof the damage was there prior because you didn't come back to the agent.
