£600 on bedroom furniture to find they've gone bust. That's £600 I'll never see again!

This company has gone into liquidation. We have all lost our money. £600 in my case :(

I ordered a bed on the 8th of December and, like many others here, I have had excuse after excuse and then ...silence. I have cancelled the order and asked for a refund .....nothing.
The bed was for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. I feel I have let her down and am totally devastated.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Bought a bed at beginning of December which turned up rusty and bent to pieces told a replacement was coming , never showed ,so I demanded a refund which I've been told has been processed 3 times now but still waiting.There are other companies that the [Name removed] is also an MD maybe we can apply to them for money not sure will seek advice.

I've got a feeling they've gone into hiding / gone bust / ran away with our money!!
After being promised a refund for a wardrobe that still hadn't arrived after 12 weeks (allegedly should have taken 4 weeks), I've not had the refund, and now that I'm chasing, well wouldn't you know it, the phone lines go straight to voicemail, and you can't leave a message as the mailbox if full. I've also emailed every possible contact email address, yet no response. Probably from countless other people trying to claim their money back for lack of delivery.
Am hoping my bank can help me out.
Next plan is to check out action fraud.

I've never had to write a bad review until now, but take heed from the majority of the reviews written on this site and for your own sanity think carefully before ordering from Venture Furniture.
My order was placed and money taken at the beginning of December and I still havent received my furniture I've emailed, left messages and once I even managed to get through to them, only to be filled with broken promises and lies.
I fear I wont ever get my Order and will now have to waste my time taking the matter further. Only blessing is I paid by Credit Card.
Can anyone who has had the same problems as me (which appears to be quite a few of you), please let me know what you've done to rectify the mess and how successful you've been.
I've been quite polite on here, but it's not how I really feel : (

I ordered a TV cabinet mid November 2012 for a Christmas present. There were no communication from Venture Furniture, and every time I call (if the phone is answered) I get a story about how it will be with me soon. It’s now 21st January 2013 and still no delivery. AVOID!!

I placed my order on Nov. Coffee table was in stock, 7-14 days to deliver but it never arrived :( They do not answer to my e-mails now.
I reported a fraud to actionfraud.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY

Visa Debit Card are insured, so bank HSBC is going to give me my money back in 48h.

I dont even think this is a bona fide company. After cancelling an order which I had been told was in stock at the time of purchase and then became out of stock as soon as they had my money, they eventually acknowledged the cancellation,but neglected to refund themoney. Now they dont answer emails andthe phone just rings out. Fortunately I paid by credit card and am leaving it to them to sort out. avoid this lot like the plague!

I am still awaiting an order placed 18th Oct 2012....... Promised loads of times but this is the last date I will accept....15th Jan 2013
I would be interested in ALL persons that have or are having problems with this company. Watch this space for contact details should the delivery not happen.....

By the way I advise everyone that has a problem with this company to open a dispute account with their credit card company......

I too, having read the reviews on here, became dubious of receiving my order HOWEVER what fantastic service. I ordered a guest bed for my daughter on-line on Monday 7th January, telephoned a helpful customer service representative to explain I would like the parcel at the end of the week. He explained the mattress was a 5 working day wait but would send the bed separately so that I could construct at the weekend & that the mattress would follow. The bed arrived on Friday, as promised in a follow up call by Venture, all parts present & correct! Fab bed, fab price & fab customer service. I would recommend Venture & already have done!

I've read some of the reviews and couldn't believe it was the same company, I have not had a problem to worry a great deal about, yes the chest of drawers was late in arriving but as it was just before christmas I could appreciate the delay with places closing over the christmas period. I am sorry some people are having or had problems with the company, but all I can say is I am more than pleased with my purchase, the gentleman who delivered was very friendly and helpful, I was happy with communications keeping me informed of what was happening. I am a very happy customer and would go back. Jean

A word of advice – Before posting a glowing review about a company, it’s best to ensure your facebook friends list does not publicise names that include the wife of one of the company directors. Posting it so soon after a string of dire reviews makes your motive look rather suspicious. You can change your privacy settings now, but it’s a bit too late since I have taken screenshots which I will make available to anyone (including TrustPilot) who asks for them.

It appears this isn’t Venture Furniture’s only deception because quite a few of the other reviewers on here have had experiences similar to mine.

In early October 2012, I saw a sofa bed on their website which was on offer. It was exactly what I wanted and at the right price, so I contacted them to let them know I wanted to purchase that particular item, and asked if they would be able to arrange for a Saturday delivery to where I live in Blackpool. They told me it was possible, and so I placed my order. Back then, the reviews online were mainly favourable, but after a bit of investigation today, I suspect many of them might have been fake. I have also discovered that this company goes under quite a few different other names /addresses. Alarm bells ought to be ringing for you by now.

To cut a long story short, I still hadn’t received my sofa bed the week before Christmas. I had been repeatedly emailing Venture Furniture, and most of the time, they would ignore my messages. I also tried phoning several times, and the usual refrain is that someone would be in touch (or would phone back the same day) but they hardly ever bothered to get back to me. At one point, I managed to get hold of one of the company directors (there are quite a few of them...all you need to do is a company check to find out) who told me that the stock had only just been delivered to their supplier and I would receive the sofa bed the following Saturday. Well, that sofa bed still hadn't materialised 2 weeks after that conversation despite assurances that I would definitely get it before Christmas. By that time, I was so fed up I decided to cancel the order. I had been waiting for more than 2 months, and no attempt was ever made to address my concerns.

I got email confirmation of the cancellation quite promptly, along with a promise to a refund me asap. This was just before Christmas. I have still not got that refund despite constantly chasing them for it. They ignored my emails (surprise surprise), and whenever I phoned, I would be told the refund had been put through and it would show up in my account either the next day or within the week (the timeframe seems to change each time). They took my money quick enough, but it now looks like it was taken under false pretences. Since they are holding on to money they are not entitled to, and I have got nothing to show for it, what they have done amounts to theft.

The deadline I have given Venture Furniture is the end of today. If my refund does not show up, I will be taking legal action to get my money back, and also reporting them for fraud.

UPDATE 11 Jan 2012 16:29 - I have FINALLY got my refund, but it should not have come to this. The fact that customers have to resort to threats to get anything sorted out is indication that something dodgy is going on. I would advise against buying anything from this company unless you wish to go through the same frustrating rigmarole as the rest of us.

I ordered two pieces of furniture for a house we had just moved in to back in October (13th). After many many phone calls and continual promises of 'next week' and 'within the next two days' amidst reality of 'not in stock yet' and 'waiting for our supplier' I asked them deliver in time for my 74yo Mother In Law visiting for Christmas... needless to say, they missed it. I cancelled the order and received a confirmation of cancellation within a day. To date they still have my money. I am just about to file this with ActionFraud.Police.UK and thought I would write the review first so that others became quickly aware of the actions of this company. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM UNLESS YOU NEVER WANT TO SEE YOUR MONEY AGAIN OR ANY GOODS.

Wish I had read some of the reviews on this company. We had just moved house and were living out of cardboard boxes so I ordered over £1000 worth of goods which they advertised as being delivered within 1 - 2 weeks. After 4 weeks of waiting and hearing absolutely nothing from them despite my emails, I sent an email saying I was going to take them to court. I received an email back saying that all my previous emails had gone into their spam box (funny how this one was received). Part of my order was then delivered by the end of the week which was the deadline I had given them. I originally placed my order on 25th October and have today received the rest of the goods I ordered. After the first delivery I realised I had enough space for another wardrobe _ did I order from them _ you've got to be joking. I found another company who sold the same range ordered it and it was delivered within a week. Also the,range,of furniture I ordered said some assembly required _ not true it was completely flat packed. As with many other people they took payment for these,goods straight away. No apology, no reason why the goods had taken so long. So all in all I would never in a million years recommend this company to anyone.

If you wish to purchase from a company which will take your money immediately and then never answer the phone, never respond to your written correspondence, never provide you with a delivery date and never delivery your order, then this is the online retailer for you. If you expect a company to do any of the above, then you are better off shopping elsewhere.

Maybe they are better in store...

The item I purchased as "in stock" on their website clearly isn't. Aside from 2 automated e-mails telling me that they were "still working on" my order, I have not been able to illicit any response from Venture Furniture. These e-mail do not seem to be able to tell me anything about the estimated delivery time. Phone calls do not go to voicemail.

Now that my septigenarian parents have slept on the floor for the holidays, I will try to find a way to get my money back.

Ordered dining set 19th nov, credit card charged immediately, and conformation email recieved. No contact from them since, now being Xmas eve and looking forward to eating my turkey off my lap. I called and called, then called some more, all I ever got was next week, end of the week blah blah. Alex, the guy on other end of the phone is rude, obnoxious and wonder if he's actually had any customer service training whatsoever... -1 out of 10, will be collecting my refund (which I imagine will take just as long) and taking my business elsewhere. If I were you I'd use Argos...

I bought a day bed bunk beds mattresses with some other furniture for our new house.
Alex and the team made sure all the furniture was delivered on time on the day we moved in, the delivery team unwrapped everything and removed the packaging. I have to say not many firms would have gone to the trouble and I cannot thank them enough. All my friends could not believe the service. Thanks Alex and Kevin for sorting it for us.

I am very happy with the Bordeaux Rustic Oak dining set I have bought from Venture Furniture at Farnsfield. We live nearby and went to the showroom where we saw a few options and then viewed more on their big screen in the store.
It was delivered within 2 weeks and was installed by Des who took all the packaging away.
Cannot fault the service or price!

My wife and I bought a dining table and a side table from this company back in April 12. We were informed it would take 2 weeks for the company to get the stock and then send it to us. 3 weeks later we had heard nothing. I was sent overseas with work for 4 months during which time I had to ring them several times to enquire about the wereabouts of the furniture. The wife also rang them several times and was always told 'I'll get back to you' and they never did. After being away for approximately 9 weeks I decided to ask the wife to cancel and get a refund. So she did, although this again took calls from myself as they had had our money 13 weeks prior!! They sent the wife a cheque after a failed refund attempt??, she put the cheque in the bank only for it to be stopped by the company. Yet another loose pathetic excuse was used. Eventually, 16 weeks after ordering a nice man from the sister company (e-venture) took the card details and refunded the card instantly. The furniture company sent my wife flowers as a way of an appology with me not in the country (they didnt take 16 weeks). So heed this warning, check they have stock and the lead times prior to ordering and good luck.
