They really are the most horrendous bank!

They really are the most horrendous bank! We have baked with them for two years. We were outsourcing our payroll and decided to bring it in house. We recruited a finance manager and completed and sent the forms for her to have full delegate access for two of our four accounts.

The forms were received by Lloyds 9 weeks ago. 4 weeks ago we tried to set up workers but it turned out both full delegate accounts were set up as view only. I called and they checked the forms and confirmed they had been completed correctly but not setup their end properly. They explained that this would be logged with the Internet banking department and they would resolve.

1 week later... still no news and I had to call.... they apologized and 2 days later 1 account was set up correctly but the other one still wrong. I called again, they said it would be resolved.... 2 days later no news. I called again and they told me they didn't receive the form.... interesting as they were in the same envelope and previously confirmed both forms were completed properly.

At this point I logged all the issues as an official complaint. 3 days later still no news so called again.... by this point we had to pay the outsauce company to run the payroll for another week costing us £150. I was told the form was filled in wrong for the remaining account despite been assured they were both correct 2 weeks before. They said they would need to email me another form. Next day still no form... another call and they finally emailed the form. This was a complete joke as due to lockdown we now had to complete and post to each director. The good news (or so we thought), was they called and said if we email the competed form over they would change the account. So we did this and emailed over n the Friday 15th that night they called and said the copy wasn't good enough (it was completely fine but we did another copy and i told photos and resent on Saturday. Monday..... still no news, emailed again, no response, emailed again today (Tuesday)..... still no news..... another payroll missed. Dont go with this bank!! They are the worst bank I have ever dealt with. We are in the process of moving.... this is how they treat business with £5million turnover!

Zero Customer Service

I tried to change my existing business to Lloyds. Was given a business manager but every time I called I just got voicemail. Went into a branch but was told they only deal with new businesses not existing business and was assigned a new "local" business manager. This business manager was based miles out of central London and never had time to visit my local area despite that being in City of London. Eventually he offered a date not realising it was bank holiday monday and he wasn't working that day.
After no contact for 6 weeks I phoned the main phone line yet again and was told I could do a phone review instead but when I got transferred to someone else they said this wasn't right and I had to visit a business manager. They said they'd get the area manager Kirk Barry to call me that day but 3 days later I still haven't had any contact.
I give up. With this level of (non) service I can't imagine ever having to deal with them when I have an issue.
Complete waste of time. Worse than useless!

Totally shocking

Totally shocking, business managers with no clue of the challenges of business and time consuming and unecceassry processes just for a very short term (2 days) cash flow requirement. Lloyds have no appreciating of the challenges of their customers running a small business

Ridiculous, no bothers to call! go elsewhere and save your time

I Perosnally bank with Lloytds and have done for eyars with no problems so when we started our own business it made sense to go with lloyds and after filling in the forms online, no one conatcted us. 6 weeks later we called again and they said they had a back log, we went elsewhere. We have been business banking for 2 years now and the free banking has run out so we decided to have another go with Lloyds........2 months later exactly the same issue, no contact just a confirmation email. I called and the lady apologised said someone should have called me by now, she took my details and said someone would call me.....That was 3 weeks ago and still no one has phoned. I think i was stupid to do it the first time never mind the second. Don't bother, if it's a sign of future banking experiences it tells me everything i need to know. Terrible Lloyds.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service, poor bank policy, you can't open a bank account if you can't speak English and they don't accept a translator nor having your own children as your trusted person to speak on your own behalf even if you give them authority after passing security questions. Pathetic bank out of touch.

Have an account here only if you have plenty of time to waste

I have been a private account holder with Loyds TSB for 16 years. As I set up my company I decided to have my business accounts with them. Worse decision ever. Without going into the details of poor and super slow service and misleading and inaccurate information, recently on a mistake Lloyds recognised and which costed me over 3 hours on the phone to solve, I have been offered compensation for my time only if I can demonstrate I have hired someone for that time. I am a freelancer and as many my time is my only source of income, I explained I have a deadline to meet tomorrow for which I have been paid (offered to send invoices with no avail) and the waste of time today will mean I will have to stay up all night to make up for it; which is DISTRESSING enough. Apparently their "regulator" does not contemplate that as a sufficient reason for compensating for loss of time. Result I am closing my personal and business accounts, and my family will too.

New Buisness Account

Applied 3 months ago for an account and still not got anywhere.

Consider all options before going with Lloyd's.

As a service provider my rating of them is very low.....poor show Lloyds!

Took over a month to send over applications docs and I had to chase. Just got lost in the system apparently......should have been say 10 days.

Filled in the forms and then never heard chased....being reviewed......weeks later nothing.......called and need a letter to further confirm an address, but apparently not their need to ring me....wow!

money-scamming money counting machine

My mum has a business account with them. After problems with energy companies, my mum had to close down the account and set up a new one. When it was opened, we were promised that they would switch all the direct debits for us and treat us as new customers, so a lot of the services would be free for a year. None of that was actually done for us.

Then they changed the layout of the bank and used money I counting machines to count the money and store it. But if you give them slightly creased notes, the money gets jammed and not counted. Once my mum went in with several hundred pounds, and half of it was jammed in the machine, so the clearly intelligent banker just told my mum that she had miscounted. But of course my mum didn't let that happen. After a lot of discussion, the manager came out and opened it to see all the missing notes stuck inside different parts of the machine. So we have asked them to manually count the money first, but each time we make that request, we are told that their machines are correct. If it can't count something, the money is pushed back out. Of course, it carried on, but if its only a couple of notes, we just get told that we have miscounted, because their machine is correct. They never fail, and no one is allowed to open the machine.

After speaking to them so many times and causing a commotion in front of other customers, they have agreed to manually count the money first.

Lastly, when we first opened an account with them, and got change, there is always money missing. Sometimes, if lucky, we get a 2p in replacement of the missing 50p. This has changed though. I guess they have replaced the faulty weighing scales.

9,000 job losses !!! I wonder why !!! None of them deserve one

I tried opening a new bank account for a new business venture and thought I would try Lloyds although I personally banked with Barclays. That was in May 14 and as of today I still haven't succeed in opening one. I believe I am a very successful business man in my own right with a net worth in excess of £millions but they initially wanted proof of my business address. The letter the sent requesting my business address was to my business address and asked if I would contact them. Needless to so the letter requesting this had no Lloyds contact address only fax and telephone numbers. Needless to say this numbers didn't exist and must have been switched off. Since then I have received two bank statements quoting sort codes and bank account numbers but the account isn't still open for business. I even sent the the title deeds of the business address stating the owner of the property as the company I owned the property I was opening the bank account for. 6 weeks ago they requested my accountant wrote to them still requesting proof of business address. They did it wasn't good enough and they dictated to me what my Accountants letter would say - I did this too only today to find out this too wasn't good enough, Approaching 7 months now and still even today I get promised returned phoned phones call which don't happen. I give up and am going somewhere else ... if I cared as much as these useless idiots I wouldn't have a job so they don't deserve one either and I hope the job centre piss them around as much as they piss their potential customers around. Enjoy your time on the dole as if anyone comes to me with a CV with Lloyds career on it, I would let them wait over six months in my reception and see how it feels - tongue in cheek - NOT!!!.

Well done Lloyds its taken nearly 7 months to truly piss me off.

Very poor at handling fraud

Lloyds TSB did not help me AT ALL when over £10,000 was taken from my Debit Card without my consent. They made sure that I had to take the case all the way to the financial ombudsman - still in progress now....

Sleazy, underhanded, lazy snake-oil salesmen and women

I opened my first account with LloydsTSB as a naive teenager. I simply wanted a current account in which to pay my wages. Little did I know that the underhanded member of staff had signed me up for a select account that would cost me over £10 per month. Having realised this, I returned to the bank and asked him to change it. "Sorry, the computers are down, come back next week" he lied.

The following week, I returned: "Sorry, the computers are still down." It took me a month to change to a current account.

Some years later, I approached LloydsTSB about a student overdraft. The member of staff told me: "We don't do student overdrafts any more. Instead, we offer these interest-free student credit cards." It sounded just as good, so I signed up. "I'll just add the payment protection. It'll only cost you 1 penny per month," she lied. I accepted that too.

3 months later I received a bill for my credit card with huge interest and £15 additional charges for payment protection. I immediately complained, but was told "you misunderstood. It's only interest free on purchases for 3 months". I tried to cancel the payment protection and the staff simply refused to do it, giving me numbers to call instead.

Trying to sort any issue out over the phone is near impossible as they outsource their call centres and staff cannot understand or speak fluent English.

Having got into debt over my credit card (the bane of my life) LloydsTSB started harrassing me, calling me as early as 8am and as late as 10pm every single day, including Sundays. They disregarded everything I said and just continued to harrass me.

I also came to realise that they had make a big error with my Experian report, which prevented me from getting debt help. I tried several occasions to get them to fix this error, but the branch staff refused to help and the call centre staff didn't understand. Many of them lied to me saying "it will be fixed" or "we can't fix it, you have to do it yourself". In the end, I had to go via a solicitors in order to get this issue sorted.

As far as I'm concerned, this company is corrupt and sleazy, with the same moral code I would expect from drug dealers or snake oil salesmen.

ps. I notice they have several different accounts on trustpilot, possibly to filter their ratings.
