Worst trip travel-wise
Worst trip travel-wise! Watch out if you book the trip directly through the CheapCaribbean.com website. We had booked a 5 night All Inclusive to travel to Costa Rica and chose the Occidental Papagayo. The flights that were provided were through San Jose main international airport, which indicated a 3 hour drive to the hotel. To our utter dismay, the drive took 7.5 hrs through the worse traffic and road construction. What we later learned that there is an airport in Liberia which is 20 minutes from the hotel and CheapCaribbean did not provide that option through their website! I called customer service for an explanation however, all I received was a pathetic apology! Never again! This would have never happened with Expedia or any other company.

1/5 Stars
1/5 Stars – Cancelled Booking After Confirmation
I booked a vacation through CheapCaribbean and received a full booking itinerary. Two days later, after I had already arranged non-refundable parking and taken time off work, CheapCaribbean cancelled my booking without an adequate resolution or alternative solution.
This unexpected cancellation caused significant disruption to my travel plans and schedule. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend booking through them due to the lack of reliability in honoring confirmed itineraries
Overall Easy Booking Process, but Better Communication Would Make a Big Difference
Overall, booking our vacation through CheapCaribbean was easy and straightforward. The website was user-friendly, and both our flights and hotel reservation were exactly as booked. Everything went smoothly from that standpoint, and there were no surprises when we arrived.
Where I believe there is room for improvement is in communication and providing travelers with complete information before departure. One of the hotel's main pools was closed for maintenance during nearly our entire stay and only reopened the day before we left. This was never mentioned during the booking process, and it would have been helpful to know in advance.
Another disappointment was customer support during our vacation. We were provided with an email address to contact if we needed assistance while traveling. Unfortunately, when I reached out with a concern during our stay, I never received a response.
Overall, CheapCaribbean delivered what was promised regarding our flights and accommodations, and the booking experience itself was very positive. I would simply encourage better communication about significant resort maintenance and more responsive customer service for travelers who need assistance while they are away from home.
They don't provide what they offer n package
They offer me a package that included seat and free baggage included. When I arrived at airport, we had big headache since we had no seats reserved. We had to make a long line to get seats and pay for them and we had also to pay for bags. It came that we had to pay extra (289.00) dollars for those for those things. I call them and they told me that it was the airlines fault. I didn't do no deal with the jetblue airlines; it was with cheap Caribbean vacations. They lost a client, won't use them again.
These people denied me a refund…
These people denied me a refund provided directly to me by the hotel and held half of it as a credit to force me to use their horrible service again. This after they denied me the credit when I asked them first before I left for the trip and the torchure they put me through booking the trip! They are unethical and thieves and my next letter is to the BBB!
I wanted to update this that as of 06/24 CheapCaribbean Has made this right and issued me the credit to me!!!
And it was much appreciated.
🚨 WARNING: Do Not Book With CheapCaribbean 🚨
I have booked travel through Expedia and Trip Masters for years and have NEVER had an issue. However, my recent experience with CheapCaribbean has been an absolute nightmare.
If you need to change or cancel a trip, beware of their customer service. I called four separate times to get a refund for a portion of my vacation, and I was given a completely different amount every single time:
Call 1: Quoted a $586 refund.
Call 2: Quoted a $536 refund.
Call 3 (just one hour later): Refund suddenly dropped to $92.
Call 4: They completely flipped the script and claimed NOW I OWE THEM MONEY!
Their billing is completely inconsistent, their customer service agents have no idea what they are doing, and their hidden fees/penalties are predatory. I will never use them again and strongly recommend sticking to reliable platforms like Expedia. Save yourself the stress and money: NEVER BOOK WITH CHEAPCARIBBEAN!
Overcharged $1400 usd
Do not use this service. Booked w them and two months later the exact same dates, flights, and resort were 700 a person cheaper and they wouldnt offer a price match or refund, also unless you pay crazy amounts for cancelation insurance your screwed if prices change like this. Also they lied and told me they would help w the refund and about 40 emails and lots of time wasted they just ghosted me and stopped responding and never helped. Horrible service. Our other friends booked through other travel services and had no issues getting a refund for the lower pricing (and they did not have cancellation insurance). I will never again book w cheap carribean or their other companies like apple vacations, they lost a great customer that travels and booked a-lot w them because of this single experience in May 2026.
I traveled alone with my 20-month-old…
I traveled alone with my 20-month-old child, and my itinerary clearly stated that she was an infant. However, I later discovered that I had been charged as if I were traveling with two adults—including hotel accommodations, food, transportation, and even a second airplane ticket. CheapCaribbean did not provide an itemized receipt, so I had no way of knowing exactly what I was paying for until just two days before departure.
Once I realized the issue, I contacted customer service repeatedly—more than 20 times—and every response was the same: “We’re sorry, it must have been a mistake.” No one was able to explain how this happened, correct the billing issue, or offer a meaningful resolution.
I was also extremely disappointed with the hotel arrangements. My baby and I had to move rooms three nights in a row due to serious issues, including a cockroach infestation and a room with malfunctioning air conditioning. Having to repeatedly relocate while traveling alone with a young child made the entire experience even more stressful and disruptive.
Overall, I am very disappointed by the lack of transparency, accountability, and customer care. I trusted CheapCaribbean with an important trip, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations.
Bait & switch and money extortion
Scammers! They utilized a bait and switch technique with us. We purchased two vacation packages from them 8 weeks before the departure date. Four weeks later, they emailed and said that our direct flights with WestJet had been replaced with 1-stop flights on United Airlines, arriving 4+ hours later than the original itinerary, for an extra $280(!) per person. So not only did we get inconvenient flights, but we were also supposed to pay $560 for them, or they would refund us with some travel credits.
About 3 hours were wasted on phone conversations with their support, with wait times of more than 1 hour each. One support representative also played dumb: "That's not your reservation number. Give the correct one... Wrong... Wrong... That's not your number! I can't hear you... Hello? Hello?" and hung up. A third agent assured us we would receive the full paid amount in the form of credits, but they refunded only 40%.
Back then, we also found out that this flight with United Airlines was only $40 more expensive, NOT $280!
And in case you don't know — such a drastic change of itinerary is considered a "significant change," and by law, it must be fully refunded by the merchant in the original payment method, regardless of the merchant's own terms and conditions.
So, while our case is still in dispute with the bank, I must warn you all — don't fall for their low rates. They will find a way to extort much more money from you, so you will end up paying more than you would with other travel agencies.
We had a very frustrating and…
We had a very frustrating and disappointing experience booking through CheapCaribbean. What started as an exciting trip quickly turned into a stressful and unfair situation.
After booking our trip, the company changed the itinerary and increased the overall cost. The new price they expected me to pay was actually *higher* than if I had simply gone onto their website and rebooked the exact same trip ourselves (which was still higher than original price). That alone felt misleading and unreasonable.
When we contacted customer service, we were told that we could cancel for a full refund and then rebook at the lower price. That seemed like a fair solution, so we agreed. However, the very next day, we were told something completely different — instead of a full refund, we received a flight credit, and canceling would come with penalties. This directly contradicted what we had been promised.
It feels like the burden of their pricing changes and internal miscommunication is being pushed onto the customer. Why should consumers be penalized for trying to correct a situation that wasn’t their fault in the first place?
Overall, this experience felt deceptive and poorly handled. I would strongly caution others to double-check everything and be very careful when booking, as the pricing and policies do not seem to be applied consistently.
I booked my trip through Cheap…
I booked my trip through Cheap Caribbean to go to Saint Martin at an all-inclusive hotel… The experience was not what I expected. We booked a week trip my husband and I cut it short by two days due to the awful experience . While I was there, I tried to reach out to Cheap Caribbean, and they kept on pacifying me. I tried to explain to them that. The food was awful, the staff was not helpful, the cleanness was not up to speed… Etc… I contacted Cheap Caribbean to see if they could accommodate us in anyway for a refund for the two days that we left and they were not helpful at all they sent you through all kinds of hoops to try to get your money back, which they know is pretty much impossible, but that is their way to push you away from them dealing with you directly.. I also took out insurance on this trip.. i will never book with this company again be aware!!!!!
Terrible communication!
I booked a trip to Mexico, and initially the process was smooth. The booking was simple, and all pre-trip information was provided in a timely manner. However, when my flight was canceled due to weather, everything quickly fell apart.
I attempted to contact Cheap Caribbean for assistance in reaching the shuttle service and resort, but I was left on hold for hours without ever speaking to a representative. I also sent an email to the provided contact address during my trip, but never received a response. The chatbot was no help either—it repeatedly directed me back to the same phone number and email.
Days later, I received a follow-up email asking if I had made it to my destination, which was frustrating given the complete lack of support when I actually needed it. The entire experience was incredibly stressful, and due to the poor communication and lack of assistance, I will not be using this service again.
I would rate negative 10bat this point
I would rate negative 10bat this point. I booked a vacation, hours later I learned my dad had cancer and needed treatment. This company gave me a credit, despite insurance I purchase, despite I canceled 4 minutes before 24 hours.they gave me a credit. Refused ro refund my money. Now, they still won't refund my money, they are holding 1400 in money and giving me one year to use it. Meanwhile, I now need these funds to give my dad a proper funeral. They don't care. Do not book through them because if lige happens you're out
Misleading pricing and no responsibility
I booked a vacation package through CheapCaribbean from Canada, and all pricing appeared to be in CAD. There was no clear indication anywhere that I would be charged in USD.
However, after completing the booking, I was charged in USD, which significantly increased the total due to currency conversion. The amount initially shown was around $3264.50, but I ended up being charged approximately $4597.56 CAD. This is misleading and not transparent.
I contacted customer service multiple times and spent several hours on the phone. The agents acknowledged my concern but refused to take responsibility. Instead, they told me to contact the hotel, even though I booked directly through CheapCaribbean.
This shows a serious lack of transparency and accountability. I do not recommend using this service.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. They failed to associate the sky miles number I provided during booking which caused over $300 in unnecessary fees (baggage etc.). Spent over 5 hours on the phone with cheap Caribbean for them to shirk responsibility and effectively blame the customer. I would suggest this platform to no one, and will not ever let my loved ones use this trip. Sounds great up front, but should you need any actual customer support during the process, prepare for the worst.
Worst experience ever.Have used for…
Worst experience ever.Have used for years. Will never use again.Should be relatively easy to book a trip not a bad nightmare.Would never recommend again.
Not truthful with seat assignments,
I made reservations to Jamaica for myself and husband
But due to a snow storm the trip was canceled. While looking over the itinerary I noticed we were not sitting together on the flights going or returning.
SO of course we booked the trip again but this time I made sure and asked to please assign seats together I was assured by the agent on the phone we would be sitting together on all flights going and returning.
Long story short we did not have seats together on either flight going to Jamaica nor returning , when I called 3 days before the returning flight to see if they could correct their mistake they wanted to charge us an additional fee I have a knee problem I need wheel chair assistant and my husband to help me.....no sympathy from cheap Caribbean. Com, they were more interested in getting more money. Cleary there were seats together we could of had BUT they were just interested in their business.. ..
If I can give this place zero stars or…
If I can give this place zero stars or negative I would .Cheap Caribbean has the absolute worst customer service and resolution process. The day I booked I was advised you have 24 hours to cancel this reservation. I spoke with someone I even called the next day which was less than 24 hours then to be told that, yes, although it’s all over the site 24 hours 24 hours you don’t actually get that for certain hotels. I wasn’t even trying to cancel my reservation. I just wanted to change the hotel because after further inspection, it wouldn’t be able to accommodate my husband‘s medical conditions. So they said they will send a message to the hotel asking for a waiver. Come to find out three days after they send this alleged email. They didn’t even send it to the right hotel.
So then about six other emails were sent to the hotel with no responses. I called today for about the 15th time to cheap Caribbean, and was advised that the hotel rejected the medical waiver and cancellation. So then I said I just wanna cancel the hotel then like I’m not gonna show up and of course cheap Caribbean tells me there will be a fee to do that. So I said fine. Keep the hotel there that’s fine since I’m gonna be charged even not show up. If I cancel, just keep it let them think we’re there. Let them think whatever they like. NEVER BOOK THRU CHEAP CARIBBEAN!!!!!!!
Stuck in a foreign country w/no support available!
We booked a trip to a resort in the Bahamas. Morning of our departure back home, our flight has been canceled and rescheduled for tomorrow. The airline won't help us because we booked through 3rd party. Our resort cannot extend our stay because we booked through a 3rd party. We've spent hours trying to communicate w/Cheap Carribean. We called, and after 40min on hold, selected the option to "hold our place in line" and receive a call back. Two hours later....nothing. We also tried the on-line chat, and were connected w/a rep who told us that for "during travel" concerns we needed to either call a specific number which he provided, or send an email to the "During Travel" team. The number provided connected us with a robot who wanted to sell us medical devices. The email has not been responded to either. We were able to request late check-out, but soon, we will be on the streets in a foreign country, with no plan. If we could have spoken with an actual human, we would have requested a transfer to a different airline (there are other flights available). Or a reasonable rate for extension at the resort. We do not wish to pay for our own flight home, and then not be reimbursed for the flight we already paid for....which is what we imagine would happen given the lack of assistance so far. This is not a legitimate travel agency. No one is following up on anything. No one is available to assist when needed. I'm sure it's fine if all goes smoothly, but as soon as it does not.....you will be stuck without support. 10/10 do not recommend. We will never book through Cheap Carribean again!
