No Communication , Horrible Service

I have used Blockbusters before and just cannot fault their service!! Each and every person I met was very honest and friendly. The service received was outstanding and they went out of their way to make sure I was happy with plans suggested.

I can highly recommend this company and know you will be in good hands!!

i bought gta 5 for 32.99 its been 2 weeks still has not come i emailed the 3 times but still no answer i went to a blockbuster store they said they had nothing to do with it yet its there name

This is hugely illegal as the transaction was about the whole package, not their choose-and-pick approach, and I'm disgusted at how they changed the overall amount consequently which benefited them from the deal through manipulation of it, not my choices at their claimed AVAILABLE SALES - also the CLAIMED aggregated, finalized amount which I processed. Additionally, as I no longer desire the order, lacking both the main deal fully there along with my main purchase of the two, there's absolutely no way to cancel the order EASILY (as they changed the situation) or contact their business effectively, with all measures seemingly taken to inconvenience a customer with issues- leaving them unanswered to be defrauded of whatever issue arise from their dubious practices.

Blockbuster had me waiting 2 days to realize I won't be receiving the option due to 'stock' (why the hell could I check-out?!??!), too - disadvantaging my options elsewhere (alternatives available before today) in their insincere listings which are also exploitative of customers.

I don't know which flaw is the worst, but they certainly combine to create an abhorrent corporation which consumers should force (through their financial decisions) into administration. The flaws I've encountered so far are:

- Indifference to problems
- Avoidance of any customer interaction
- Misleading sale
- Bait & switch tactics
- Changing a transaction to then finalize it without my choice/consent
- Removing an item from my basket to steal the full application of my voucher which was both involved in the final price and motivating to my combined purchase
- Referring all issues to a detached site which solves nothing
- Ignoring all messages when I wish to cancel my purchase understandably


Thanks for ignoring my desire to cancel my order, Blockbuster, as you changed the nature of it...defrauding me to only then persist with this act apathetically as: "Hey, we do not care if we exploit you, deceive you, ignore you. What will you do, sue us?".



Update: 2 days passed. They've ignored a Facebook message and also a direct e-mail. They do not care if you have problems or have reactions to their deceitful practices... satisfied with taking money in any circumstances through whatever means whilst avoiding you afterwards very arrogantly.

Their customer service does not exist. Got a problem? Too bad, they've got your money and don't care how it was acquired. Speak with your money and bankrupt them as we should do with any immoral, exploitative corporation: DO NOT VISIT THEIR STORE OR BUY ONLINE FROM THEM!

Another disgruntled customer. Used Blu-ray, sent as new. Unable to contact by phone. No response to emails.
Luckily it only cost me £3 to learn my lesson.

Just avoid them.

Forget it, keep your money in your pocket, this lot went bankrupt on the high street for a very good reason, I am £20 pounds short as a result of a faulty game disc and they won't pick up the phone or answer my emails. Utterly disgusting, stay well away, hopefully this last remnant can go bankrupt soon and we can be rid for good.

Would rather throw my money down the toilet than spend money with these cowboys again......

Have to strongly agree with previous reviewer. Blockbuster's general online dvd rental service is poor. Films at top of list and released years ago were being skipped over. You have little control over which order rentals are sent. Many of the dvds were in poor condition. I think I beat the previous reviewer by being kept on hold for over half an hour, so desperate I was to cancel my subscription. Don't use Blockbuster for online dvd rentals.

Do not go near this company!!!!!!! THEY STEAL STEAL STEAL!!!!!!!!!! I was on the phone to them (0845) on hold for 25 mins to cancel my account. I have been e-mailing them the past six months to cancel my account with no success. Do not go near this money stealing company. PLEASE EVERYONE, FOR YOUR OWN SAKE AND MONEY I SWEAR THEY WILL JUST TAKE FROM YOU AND GIVE NOTHING BACK IN RETURN. I HAVE LOST SO MUCH MONEY THROUGH THIS COMPANY!!

i tried to place a order for a ds on there site they have tried taking the payment 8 times and not even one order confirmed and unlikely that i will even get one

Bought a blu-ray from them 3 weeks ago and still not received item, have emailed them 3 times no reply, also tried phoning them all I'm getting is answer machine message it won't put me through to customer service, please be careful when ordering from them!!

Signed up for 14 day trial only to be billed 2 days later at £14.99 not they won't respond or answer the phone to refund me and cancel.

Well I joined on-line when i heard they were going to be streaming movies, and so far so good. but I was also really happy to find out that i can link this account to my in-store account and get other rentals for just half price! I was really please with that and when i wentt n I found that it was not only Any movie but i could get boxsets and games too. So over all i am very pleased with the benefits they have been able to provide me online and instore :)

I have been with blockbuster online rental for about 4 years. The price is good and the different options are too. I have the 4 a month package with two allowed at any one time. I always receive something from my list although its not necessarily the one at the top. If you have a faulty disc or a disc lost in the post they are good and rectifying the problem. Because I use blockbuster rental service I also looked at the market place they do. I purchased some great blu rays at excellent prices. Although sometimes the buy button can be pressed even though the item is not in stock. Which is dissappointing, but an instant refund is done and an email is sent. So still minor work to be done but the best there is out there for line rental. thank you

They do rent at good prices and the fines for late returns are cheap.

They only ever get one copy of a new releases so you have to wait for a long time to rent

They do need to do an overhaul of thier rented disks and replace older disks with newer ones.I would also suggest they keep track of how the disks condition is on leaving the store and charge those who damage the disk when it is returned

I tried Lovefilm and decided to try Blockbuster who sends new releases quickly, but if you also like to watch World Cinema and Indie films then they will struggle and you will end up waiting for ages. I also found their envelopes are really confusing to use and, the paper cases the discs are delivered in, scratch the discs which makes them unplayable in many occasions. This for me is very annoying especially if you start watching the film and half way through you get problem. I am currently using CinemaParadiso.co.uk which so far were doing great. So check out my review on them.

Been with Blockbuster online rental for 4 years, never had a problem. They deliver much quicker than Lovefilm, and the big new releases are always sent out quickly. I get 3 at a time, dvds or games, no limit as to how many a month. Great value for £15 a month.
Tried streaming on free trial with netflix - poor quality, poor selection. Will stick with blockbuster!

Have had some titles on my list for nearly two years so wonder if they've really got them. Modern technology should tell them that where customers have been waiting for long periods of time for titles then more copies are required.
Overall though a good service worth the money where you need physical media (Discs). Netflix will take there customers that have streaming capability.

I ordered a X-men first class on blue ray for £6.00, IT WAS AVAILABLE, they sent me the dvd, I called up and they let me know that it was available but for £7.00, I distinctly know I saw the offer on the website and the newspaper, thankfully I had the newspaper, I had to scan this on my computer, email it to the lady and she then messaged me back that I would have to return the dvd, then she would re-order my title for me at £6.00...........??!! I placed a order and have to prove that I placed it and to get it at the price it was shown, ridiculous!!

I had some late fees which I paid in cash - thats fair enough because they were a day late. A couple of weeks later I went in to rent some more DVDs and was told I still owed the late fees. I explained I had paid by cash 2 weeks prior but they insisted I pay. Could the cashier have pocketed the money? It was £3 so I thought I would pay and then write a letter of complaint to the head office. I have never received a response from them. So for just £3 they lost a customer of 5 years.
